Alistair Parnell: I hope you are getting big $ from Roland for your videos on the Aerophone. They are really terrific! Thank you so much. BTW, your carefully articulated English is excellent and a big aid in understanding the content you're conveying to your video fans. Best regards.
Let me be honest. You are TOO good. It's not only a compliment, but also a warning to the people who are considering to buy an Aerophone GO. I've watched 10+ Aerophone GO reviews, including professional players. Their Aerophone GO sounded like a toy, sheer PCM sound. On the other hand, your sound is so real, so rich. You could use it in a live performance for sure. I almost changed my mind to buy an AE-05, but probably I couldn't play as good as you play (because even professional players can't). So, I'd buy an AE-10, instead. Anyway, I'll watch your tutorials. Thank you.
I would say the same for the Aerophone Mini, which is an expressionless toy. Even with an accomplished player, like Alistair, and his setup, I think the Aerophone GO is a capable enough instrument. It can be expressive, even with a half-assed musician playing it. Certainly, the AE-10 Pro is the top of the line, and it's priced like it.
This is so awesome man thank you so much for this overview!! I just ordered my aerophone GO after watching your videos on it and I was able to compare the different options. I am soo excited. I’ve been playing saxophone since I was a kid and this is just what I needed to bring back the inspiration in creating music for me. I appreciate how thorough you are in displaying all its features. Thanks again and hopefully see some of my aerophone content in the future :)
I’m following your videos and I find them extraordinarily objective and helpful. You are now my aerophone “guru”. I play the alto sax but already decided to buy this little wonder piece of instrument. Just waiting for a trip to the USA, because here in Brazil they cost twice... Many thanks Alistair!
Thanks Alistair! I am new to playing a wind instrument and your videos have helped me to decide to purchase the Aerophone Go and how to make sounds with it, which I hope will turn into music at some point... :-)
Alistair: I have just bought an aerophone go because my neighbour works night shifts and my unconstrained, joyous blowing of my alto sax disturbs him. I have gained a great deal from your videos, so many, many thanks. My only gripes are 1. I can't connect to my Mac by bluetooth. Not the world's biggest problem, but a shame. I can pair with my iPhone, but that's not the same. 2. If any one at Roland is listening, the octave key is too small. Most sax players have their thumb on the octave key most of the time, otherwise it hovers over it. THE THUMB REST SHOULD BE THE OCTAVE KEY.
Hi. Thanks for watching and commenting. You should definitely be able to connect to your Mac is Bluetooth. I do it all the time. Make sure that you phone or other device is not ‘stealing’ the Bluetooth connection. Try turning off the Bluetooth on any other device and see if your Mac finds it. I agree with you that sax players rest their thumb partially touching the octave key. I’ve always taught that we should never lift the thumb off the thumb rest, but just lean or roll the thumb to squeeze the octave key. So for me I would never want the thumb rest to be the octave key. In fact on my Selmer alto that I’ve played for 40 years the lacquer has worn off the octave key in a crescent shape almost the same dimensions and shape as the Roland octave key. So again for me that sits very well. There is a greater issue of how we easily transition over multiple octave. This could certainly be made easier I think.

One question, does it matter weather I plug into the amp AUX or should I plug into the amp INPUT? I’ll try both anyway... without your vids, on both 05 &10, I probably wouldn’t have considered either, thanks.

You'd need something like a Kenton midi to USB converter (I'd use a computer as the link) so you've got some form of USB to midi. You would also have to be able to edit the sounds on the hardware device to allow CC02 to control either filter cut off or/and expression or at the very leat volume.

I'm wondering if there's something wrong with my instrument, or is this just a skill I'm going to have to pick up with practice due to the nature of this instrument. I'm trying to master it, but it's really, really difficult. I've played Alto Sax in the past with great success using Vibrato, so do not understand what's going on here. I do not want to be playing a song with bite control on, trying to use Vibrato, and in the lineup of some notes, this horrible pitch bend comes in. I don't understand why they have the pitch bend in the mouthpiece like that anyway, when the button below the finger rest seems to do the same thing as a pitch bend. Please help. Thanks.

Hi Alistair, your videos are really really helpful - thank you so much. Following your videos I have bought an aerophone Go and I'm struggling to get a consistant vibrato sound. Some of the sounds have really strong reverb which sort of takes the place of vibrato. Any chance you could explain (or even demo) vibrato on the aerophone and perhaps also altissimo register. Both of these things require embouchure control and I'm not sure how to adjust this to get the same results on the aerophone as I might experience on the tenor sax.
So altissimo on the Aerophone is not like a sax. Make sure you set the right fingering in the settings (I think its sax 2) the just use the altissimo fingerings. They won't all work but most do. The vibrato is something that takes work. It won't feel quite the same as the sax. I'd suggest experimenting with the settings on the app to see what suites you. There has been some update lately and you might prefer the EWIND setting.

@@isax.academy awesome thank you for the info. Finding the ios app bundle iFretless Woodwind awesome has both Sax and Trumpets and much more for a paltry $14.99
Can we use mainstage on ipad pro?
Not at the moment but it would be amazing if we can in the future.
@@isax.academy i use aerophone go with go plus app on my ipad which is very easy to play my backing tracks... and i m looking to buy ae10 but the app aerophone editor does not have the same feature to play the backing tracks in the same interface.. I dont want to make it complicated by using a laptop for my tracks... Any alternatives?
Some people are saying that the mouthpiece on the Aerophone Go gets loose.
+Johnny Parker hi. I’ve never had a problem with that. Some people have made the mistake of not correctly seating the mouthpiece.
+Johnny Parker Hi. Never had any issue myself. The Aerophone GO has a very stable mouthpiece set up.
os sons dos próprios instrumentos de sopro como oboé, fagote, trompa, trombone e flauta e saxofones teriam que ser mais realistas, quase que sampleados.....
Thank you.
