  • Win a FREE Seam Allowance Guide from DadSews.com and SeamAllowanceGuide.com.
    Save hours!
We want to sew and we want to do it NOW!
The most time consuming and annoying part of sewing is adding a seam allowance to all your pattern pieces.
No longer do you have to measure and trace around each individual piece, the Seam Allowance Guide will do that for you while you cut out your fabric.
Now you can spend more time on the fun stuff.
    Perfect for:
    Burda Style Magazine Patterns
    Japanese Pattern books
    Marfy Patterns
    Copying your own clothes
    Designers creating patterns from scratch
    Altering patterns
    Left or right handed scissors
    Picking up pins!
    Green or Yellow?
Some scissors blades have a slight slope on the outer edge. This is about 3 degrees. If your scissor blade is sloping put the yellow guide on and rotate it until it's parallel to the table/fabric. The green guide is used for scissors that have no slope on the outer edge of the blade. Also great for the tip or at the pivot of the scissors.
Both are included in the packet.
The Seam Allowance Guide uses a rare earth magnet which is extremely strong.
Where on the blade do I position it?
This will depend on your cutting style and the pattern shape. For long straight cutting, position it further back towards the handles. For curved patterns where the cutting action is smaller position it closer to the tip. As a rule the guide sits where the two blades separate during the cutting motion.
    For right handed sewers.
The pattern piece goes to the right of your scissor blade - Cut clockwise around the pattern. The guide sits on the right hand blade.
    For left handed sewers.
The pattern piece goes to the left of your scissor blade - Cut anti-clockwise around the pattern. The guide sits on the left hand blade.
    Don't forget: SEW. FAIL. REPEAT.

Woah Nellie! After more than 50 years of happy sewing days I love new tools that will speed up my productivity. Things like ergonomic improvements, brighter lighting, haphazard housework (more sewing time), and a great husband who understands me. This measuring tool would be the bomb! I like the way you think!

As almost any parent can attest to, the amount of "free time" you get with a 1 year old is quite limited. I love sewing, and really want to start making some more garments for my son. This little tool really seems like it would help to save some of that precious free time I get to sew.

Wonderful invention. I prefer patterns w/o seam allowances so I can do 3/8" seams on straight seams and 1/4" on sleeves and facings. Love the flexibility. Please ask them to make one for rotary cutters... Good on you for reading instructions. :)

I would like one because, I keep messing up fabric MOSTLY because of the seam allowance.😂 I’m pretty sure that gadget will help me a lot. I am new to your channel and new to sewing. Your channel is the first channel I’ve subscribed to for sewing. So...I hope to win the seam allowance gadget.😁
    Blessings from Texas 🤠

Here is an example of how much I need the sewing gadget. Yesterday, I just realized that I had bought interfacing and sewed it to my first project. Well, I used it incorrectly I was supposed to iron it on. I seem to never get my inseams correct, I need all kinds of guides, my straight stitch is not so straight. LOL

This would be very handy for adding larger seam allowances for fitting so much faster than measuring and more accurate than guessing.

First of all, let me say I love your videos. They have really helped me. I’ve been sewing since I was 15 and I’m 67. A couple years ago I suffered a stroke and I’m starting to try to sew again. I think it is great therapy for me. I would love one of the little gadgets to make things easier for me. Again thanks for all you do for others. Happy Sewing

omg thankyou for the info!! i so have to get one! would save me a bunch of headaches! much appreciated. i make clothing for littlw girls and a bunch of things for babies.I am trying to learn how to quilt and i find myself wanting to learn more every day. im guilty of binge watching your channel and I reccomend/ed alot of people to your channel because i think its awesome how you go about sewing. om only 27 and most people around me think sewing is boring or an old person trait i beg to differ. funny thing is when my finish products are complete then i get a bunch of "can i get some" and expecting it to be free because apparently fabric ect "doesnt cost anything". i dont have all the supplies yet but little by little i am building my little sewing room i have set up😊. I follow you on facebook under livelifexosantana.
