Great testimony, thank you for sharing. I work in a Protestant school as a cleaner and listen to conversion stories as I’m cleaning everyday 😁 The more I hear, the more I realise it’s such a privilege to be a cradle Catholic! Many of us sadly take that for granted. 🥰
Thanks for sharing this. What he said about the Catholic Church going 10 layers deeper into the Bible is true. I used to be Baptist and used to do Bible studies with others from our denomination and we thought we knew the Bible really well. But now that I have converted to Catholicism, it further strengthens my faith in God for now I see the Bible not just as a book that tells me to believe but affirms that what I believe is true. I am now a lector at my Catholic Church in the Bay Area California and I all I want is to live my life for Jesus. May all Protestants see the truth of the Catholic Church and once they see it, I guarantee them that they will continue to live for Christ to the end.
I am cradle Catholic. I would say I became a non practicing Catholic for a long time and then in the last few years there was a calling inside me. I went back to Church, went back to confession and received the Eucharist again. And I started getting immersed in the Scriptures. What I realized is I am very much drawn to listening to these great theologians that are converts. The reason is because they “did their assignment”, went through all the questions and got their answers. I am in the same journey. I am grateful for these great people!
@@abbegailr Same here! Pitre, Hahn, Bergsma, Akin, Horn, Nester, even back to Newman and Chesterton, have such a depth of understanding about the faith and its relation to Scripture in particular, that you can't help but gain boatloads of inspiration from it all.
Thank you for sharing. As a born Catholic, I went through that phase in the 90s, seeing most people were leaving for pentecostal. But I told myself something I needed to exhaust all my questions about the Catholic and I ended up becoming stronger and staying back. Best decision ever! 🙏 ❤
My thought too. I was raised Catholic by a mother who converted from Protestantism/Confucianism (her parents' belief) at age 15. She then helped converted her older siblings too. Sadly, I learned this from my uncle long after my mother passed. I would love to learn from her how she had that conviction at a very young age. All I knew when she was still alive and I was in jr high school, she brought others to the Faith. Not just family members. To add to that, we lived in pre-dominantly muslim country.
I am a cradle catholic and I will stay until the Lord calls me home . The EUCHARIST is the centre of my faith. I love receiving him on Sundays and week days when I can . I love being a catholic. Welcome home to the church that Jesus Christ started .
Church Easton's Bible Dictionary - Church Church [N] [S] Derived probably from the Greek kuriakon (i.e., "the Lord's house"), which was used by ancient authors for the place of worship. In the New Testament it is the translation of the Greek word ecclesia, which is synonymous with the Hebrew kahal of the Old Testament, both words meaning simply an assembly, the character of which can only be known from the connection in which the word is found. There is no clear instance of its being used for a place of meeting or of worship, although in post-apostolic times it early received this meaning. Nor is this word ever used to denote the inhabitants of a country united in the same profession, as when we say the "Church of England," the "Church of Scotland," etc. We find the word ecclesia used in the following senses in the New Testament: • It is translated "assembly" in the ordinary classical sense ( Acts 19:32 Acts 19:39 Acts 19:41 ). • It denotes the whole body of the redeemed, all those whom the Father has given to Christ, the invisible catholic church ( Ephesians 5:23 Ephesians 5:25 Ephesians 5:27 Ephesians 5:29 ; Hebrews 12:23 ). • A few Christians associated together in observing the ordinances of the gospel are an ecclesia ( Romans 16:5 ; Colossians 4:15 ). • All the Christians in a particular city, whether they assembled together in one place or in several places for religious worship, were an ecclesia. Thus all the disciples in Antioch, forming several congregations, were one church ( Acts 13:1 ); so also we read of the "church of God at Corinth" ( 1 Corinthians 1:2 ), "the church at Jerusalem" ( Acts 8:1 ), "the church of Ephesus" ( Revelation 2:1 ), etc. • The whole body of professing Christians throughout the world ( 1 Corinthians 15:9 ; Galatians 1:13 ; Matthew 16:18 ) are the church of Christ. The church visible "consists of all those throughout the world that profess the true religion, together with their children." It is called "visible" because its members are known and its assemblies are public. Here there is a mixture of "wheat and chaff," of saints and sinners. "God has commanded his people to organize themselves into distinct visible ecclesiastical communities, with constitutions, laws, and officers, badges, ordinances, and discipline, for the great purpose of giving visibility to his kingdom, of making known the gospel of that kingdom, and of gathering in all its elect subjects. Each one of these distinct organized communities which is faithful to the great King is an integral part of the visible church, and all together constitute the catholic or universal visible church." A credible profession of the true religion constitutes a person a member of this church. This is "the kingdom of heaven," whose character and progress are set forth in the parables recorded in Matthew 13 . The children of all who thus profess the true religion are members of the visible church along with their parents. Children are included in every covenant God ever made with man. They go along with their parents ( Genesis 9:9-17 ; 12:1-3 ; 17:7 ; Exodus 20:5 ; Deuteronomy 29:10-13 ). Peter, on the day of Pentecost, at the beginning of the New Testament dispensation, announces the same great principle. "The promise [just as to Abraham and his seed the promises were made] is unto you, and to your children" ( Acts 2:38 Acts 2:39 ). The children of believing parents are "holy", i.e., are "saints", a title which designates the members of the Christian church ( 1 Corinthians 7:14 ). (See BAPTISM .) The church invisible "consists of the whole number of the elect that have been, are, or shall be gathered into one under Christ, the head thereof." This is a pure society, the church in which Christ dwells. It is the body of Christ. it is called "invisible" because the greater part of those who constitute it are already in heaven or are yet unborn, and also because its members still on earth cannot certainly be distinguished. The qualifications of membership in it are internal and are hidden. It is unseen except by Him who "searches the heart." "The Lord knoweth them that are his" ( 2 Timothy 2:19 ). The church to which the attributes, prerogatives, and promises appertaining to Christ's kingdom belong, is a spiritual body consisting of all true believers, i.e., the church invisible. • Its unity. God has ever had only one church on earth. We sometimes speak of the Old Testament Church and of the New Testament church, but they are one and the same. The Old Testament church was not to be changed but enlarged ( Isaiah 49:13-23 ; 60:1-14 ). When the Jews are at length restored, they will not enter a new church, but will be grafted again into "their own olive tree" ( Romans 11:18-24 ; Compare Ephesians 2:11-22 ). The apostles did not set up a new organization. Under their ministry disciples were "added" to the "church" already existing ( Acts 2:47 ). • Its universality. It is the "catholic" church; not confined to any particular country or outward organization, but comprehending all believers throughout the whole world. • Its perpetuity. It will continue through all ages to the end of the world. It can never be destroyed. It is an "everlasting kindgdom."
Wonderful testimony. The audio was hard to hear at times. Such a blessing to hear the testimony. I came back to the Catholic Church recently. So happy to be back!
My apologies! I caught and cleaned that up in the audio version but didn’t realize it was still a problem in the video. Neither Nate nor I heard them during the recording (oddly enough).
@@TheCordialCatholicYea we can see you nodding along, which I realised that you didn't realise something was happening on the recording. Hopefully it was a one off or you figure out what caused it.
Hi @cordialcatholic. I’ve been watching your videos like crazy and I’m convinced. As a child I was Catholic - baptised, confirmed, first Holy Communion. I used to go to Mass by myself as a kid. My mum was non-practicing and my dad was a total atheist. I loved the mass and I’m only just realising why. But at 12 I went to an Anglican school and I left the church altogether and entered the world. For the next 40 years my life has been lived in sin. 2 years ago or so, I realised Jesus is real and that I’ve been an idiot and I started seeking him anew. I was born again and have been attending a non-denominational church for some months. But I’ve been feeling so dissatisfied. And confused. And a little dismissed almost coz I don’t quite get some things and often it’s really not explained real well and it’s all a bit ethereal and well “you just feel it” somehow. Watching this interview had me in tears. Especially the bit about resting. In the circle I’ve been in, we are saved by faith and works is wrong and you’re not to strive. But all I’ve been doing is striving. Striving to understand, to learn, to build relationship with my saviour, to read and pray and to NOT strive. But I recall my youth and what it was like going to mass. It was joy. Truely, I loved it. And I realise what I’m missing. This interview has revealed so much to me and every 10 minutes I’m tearing up as another revelation hits me. I ordered the Catechism of the Catholic Church the other day and today it arrived. Im going back to church 🎉. Hallelujah. I’m going back to where I started. I’m so happy. I feel so at peace all of a sudden. I’m so looking forward to it. I have so much to confess. And I’m so looking forward to that too. I need it. So so bad. Thank you both for this interview. Praise the Lord for leading me. I’m no longer lost. 🙏🏻
@TheCordialCatholic I was initially annoyed by the ads but I will now joyfully accept them knowing that it can in some way help out your amazing ministry!!
Very interesting to hear. Thanks so much. One tip for the speaker, however, is to avoid saying “like” and “you know” so often. I’m only pointing to this because I get the impression he nay be sharing content online in sone capacity. It’s a bit distracting, and I’m hoping to be helpful in the event he will be speaking more frequently.
Do the converts who were drawn to the Lord initially thru some “Jesus movement” or a Protestant church feel disloyal to those disciplines when they finally come to the fullness of the faith?
Not always, sometimes there is a kind of pity for those we left behind -- not a superiority kind of "poor you" but rather a wishing they too could experience the fullness we have found, all the while knowing that many would not be open to it.
Coming in an atheist, it's as the other person said, it's a feeling of wishing atheists could enjoy the fullness of truth that can be had. I don't feel sorry for them, because I too was once like them and despite thinking we can't choose what we desire, this is simply not the case. We can choose to be honest, we can choose to keep searching. But that would mean recognising that your present state is somehow inadequate.
for not believing in the great divinely inspired event of the pseudo-reformation? an event so important that it must be recognized as the criterium for interpreting the Bible?
But Christ is the head of the catholic church which He build with the authority of His heavenly Father through His Apostle Simon Peter. Only Christ can build the Church because He is an Emmanuel which is means God with us, He is a living bread which came down from heaven in the Holy Blessed Sacrament waiting for all human being to turn to HIM to believe in Him and to receive Him with our humble heart in the form of bread and wine to feed our souls. What l hear Nate saying is that the Holy Spirit can no longer lead believers today as in Acts so we have to believe what early church men thought even though they disagreed, but we just can't know today because we can't hear God anymore because too many years have gone by and that's the reason why we have to be Catholic.
Give me Nate's quote where he said that. The claim is that Jesus established a visible, recognisable Church on Peter and the Apostles, Matthew 16:18. These same Apostles then go around planting Churches around the Mediterranean, Acts 2:14-41, Acts 14:21-23. They then established elders in these places and expected Christians to obey the elders Titus 1:5, Acts 14:21-23, 1 Peter 5:1-5, Hebrews 13:17. Many of these Churches planted by thr Apostles are still around, including Rome. So when did the Holy Spirit fail to guide the Church (John 16:13) at Rome, which specific year or time period did the Holy Spirit stop functioning as per Jesus's promise?
So I guess the Holy Spirit is a liar? Since you know, tons of "saved" people disagree on everything no matter how simple or complex yet they all claim the Spirit is guiding them.
@@alisterrebelo9013 The time that the Holy Spirit left the Roman Church would be when the leaders no longer spoke of His leadership and direction as in Acts. Acts 8:29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. Acts 10:19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. Acts 11:12 And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house: Acts 16:7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not. Acts 1:2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: Acts 16:6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
@tom...: St. Paul never expected to become Catholic, nor did St. Augustine! The Holy Ghost has guided you to this channel so that you can learn about the true Church. Yo may be surprised some day!
Nate spoke of many things he likes that draw him near to Christ like "many feast days" Which reminded me of... Galatians 4:9-11 [9]But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? [10]Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. [11]I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
The context of your passage is the pagans who converted to Christianity and were backsliding into their pagan holidays and pagan celebrations. You seem to equate Christian celebrations with pagan celebrations, which is a rather odd thing to do. You may personally have an aversion to celebrating the Lord and His works, but historically and currently, Catholics will continue to celebrate the Lord God, giving thanks, praise and worship to Him on these days.
Sola Scriptura doesn't mean "Bible alone" but what it does mean is that Holy Scripture is superior to man's traditions because it is God's testimony and not only that but it wholly other in that It is the only spiritual book in the world. St. Peter took the high view of scripture. 2 Peter 1:19,21 [19]We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: [21]For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. This is "Sola Scriptura" in the Bible. The word of God is spiritually alive and through Holy Spirit It is the source of life. Hebrews 4:12 [12]For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
These are your words, *"Holy Scripture is superior to man's traditions".* So to be clear, do you agree that any tradition invented by man without the explicit instruction of God is false?
@@alisterrebelo9013 no what I mean is that God's word is the source of eternal truth , not the tradition of men. ua-cam.com/video/Rn3c-1j-bew/v-deo.htmlsi=4bw9Oi4cb_TzvwwW

Church [N] [S]
Derived probably from the Greek kuriakon (i.e., "the Lord's house"), which was used by ancient authors for the place of worship.
We find the word ecclesia used in the following senses in the New Testament:
• It is translated "assembly" in the ordinary classical sense ( Acts 19:32 Acts 19:39 Acts 19:41 ).
(See BAPTISM .)
The church invisible "consists of the whole number of the elect that have been, are, or shall be gathered into one under Christ, the head thereof." This is a pure society, the church in which Christ dwells.

The dips in audio were a struggle. But the testimony is excellent.

Welcome Home. I came home 24 years ago. Confessing and receiving the Eucharist for the first time in many years was very emotional. God bless you.
Thanks for this interview. Strengthens my faith ❤
Looking forward to listening! Thank you so much and God bless you all!! 🙏🙏

Excellent episode apart from the sound issues.
I threw away my 8 tracks!

I was a Catholic, but no more, now I'm a Christian...
Jesus is telling the Catholics to come out of her, so they do not partake in any of her sins, and not to suffer from her plagues Revelation 18:4...
Personally, I came out for good from the mother of prostitutes more than two decades ago.
Catholicism isn't based on the word of God the Holy Bible. Catholicism is based on pagan practices and pagan traditions.
That's what Revelation 17, and Revelation 18, are all about.

2 Peter 1:19,21
