I am buying this car today. My current car is old and has transmission issues so it’s either buy another used or get this. With car prices right now a used car costs about the same so this is the best choice.
@@hunterkennedy4475 I did end up getting it! I was actually looking at the forte as well but it was being sold for WAY more than it is worth at dealers in my area
@@dfpcmaia After all the extra fees that dealers like to sneak in it set me back 18 grand. Most used cars right now are running for similar costs so I just went for it.
Thank you for reviewing a basic affordable car in the base trim. This is what a lot of Americans want because we can't afford expensive cars but we also want a new car so it's reliable and under warranty. This here Kia Rio LX is perfect!
For anyone wondering it’s a good car, ive had mine for about 2 months and it’s saved me money. If you dont let your tank go below 1/4 then $25 is your max for gas, and it lasts a long time. The screen is so nice with carplay and its good in traffic without having to use sport mode. To make it more comfortable i ordered a armrest off of amazon for $50 that goes in the space where he put his phone. Its not the cutest car and has it’s flaws ( all door unlock and lock, an actual key and the steering wheel doesn’t extend) BUT it gets you from point A to B. Would recommend 9/10
Bought mine in black 4 months ago. It's really really good for the price. A good amount of features for the base model even and it has a good amount of pep for that little 4-cylinder.
I just bought a 2021 Rio new. It has a thermometer that shows the outside temperature. Funny thing is when it drops down to 39F it will beep before becoming constant and there is a snowflake beside the temperature. My car drives really smooth. I just have the cheapest basic model but it still has a lot of nice features and I love the small size. I can get in the tightest parking spaces easily.
I just bought this car because my previous one had so many issues that was about to go over 2K+ to fix (and my old car was a 2001 Honda Civic that I only paid $2,995 for) so I had to make a choice and I don't regret it. This car rides so smooth
I have several complaints about my Kia Rio but the positives outweigh the negatives. 1) The cupholders are in the wrong place cause thier too close to the the stearing wheel. I like to use the Cup Call Cup Phone Holder and it's hard to see cause of where the cup holders are located. You have to look back and down. I'm using the Cup Call Crane. The cup call fits the cup holders it's just that you can't hardly see your phone cause it's too far back. 2)No SiriusXM I have to hear Sirius XM via Android Auto and that drains you're phones battery and uses data. I have unlimited data so that doesn't bother me but the battery usage does. I have to use a car charger to keep the battery from draining. 3)Only one power outlet also called cigerrette lighter. This however is easily remeaded by going to Walmart and buying a power outlet with two outlets that you plug into the main outlet. That one also has 2 USB Ports. I still don't get though why Kia only has one outlet in their cars now. My Sorento had 3. 4)No Cruise Control. I miss that. 5)My Kia Rio is black which I love and it has tented windows but I think because of the black color it gets hotter in my car. When it's in the 50s and 60s outside I have to turn on the AC briefly to cool it off or roll down the window. Keep in mind some of the more expensive RIOs have more features like Siruis XM,cruise control etc but I had to go with the basic model cause my car dealership only had those. These are just petty problems that won't bother most people.
Nice review man. Bought mine in Aurora Black back in may after my beater took a nosedive. I'm big. 6'3" 250 and I fit pretty nicely in this little car.
just bought my first brand new car today and i chose a 2021 Kia Rio S! i love it so far. Just totaled my car 2 days ago from hitting a deer so insurance wouldn’t cover anything because i only had liability, so i had to find something affordable and i’m glad i chose this
I'm happy to hear how tall you are I'm 5'11 and I test drove this car compared to others that did not have a lot of leg room..... YUP I would definitely take this on a road trip...I used to have a 2017 kia forte LX with the 6 speed manual transmission and I was getting 46.2 miles to the gallon!!! Highway and around 33 mpg around town. I can't make this up!! It's true!! I took a 6 hr road trip back to Pennsylvania and I still had a quarter tank of gas when I got home
it's weird that it has a sport mode but no cruise control, when my base model 2012 Nissan versa came with cruise control. still looks like a great car though
Nice little basic transportation at a nice price. Everyone doesn’t want expensive, large and loaded with unnecessary technology just to buzz around town.
You took the words out of my mouth! Especially when you consider that after discounts, you can snatch one of these bad boys up, brand new, for 13K-14K. That's incredible value for money!
@@mahirsadman8226 Now due to the global chip shortage, there are very low inventory levels, which means dealership are not giving discounts. During normal times you can buy them for 14K after discounts. I suggest you wait a year and then buy.

What do you drive ? And what’s your favorite vehicle you have reviewed so far
Tesla Model 3 and tie between mid-engine corvette and Model S P100D
I just bought this car yesterday love it so far but miss my Cruze control 😢
these are runnin closer to 24k out the door here in texas in 2022
Are you serious right now?
Has anyone who bought this car been able to connect a key fog to it?
17K sounds well. I need one with sunroof. Would you find one for me?
No black, blue, red exterior.
No black interior.
Prefer fabric settings *~
Nice fuel economy car for the budget price!
What is the plus and minus for on the gear shift? When are you supposed to use that?
To shift revs on CVT
So I’m a VERY small person (4 ft 9) would the seats be tall enough for me to see over the steering wheel? Only concern with the car.
I would think so, but not a hundred percent.
I’m not sure either. It says the height is 57inches and that’s exactly how tall I am.
The seat pumps up
You’ll be fine I drove the car for work and I’m the same height
Only 17k brand new?? Shesh i could pay cash for it 😮
What do you mean $17200.00 I can 't find a used 2018 right now for $18,000.00 bucks?
True, true, this review hasn’t aged well I reckon. 😂
Is it a good travel car?
Better commuter car. Wouldn’t do long stretches in it, but it is possible.
Does this have a dct or traditional auto?
I believe a regular automatic.
What kind of 2021 car doesn’t have remote keyless entry, but has power locks😂 that makes zero sense
It does have remote keyless entry.
Is it good for 4 hours drive?
It can be. :/ Don't know any car that's good for a 4 hour drive though. LOL
Did someone imagine GTA V? LOL just k.. very great video.
