There are so, so many references and lore deep cuts, while still being unique and original. This is clearly a labor of love for everyone involved, and a near perfect masterpiece of a finished product, perfectly encapsulating what the Transformers mythos as a whole is supposed to feel like. This movie is a dream come true for me and a lot of other fans

*THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE!!!* Everything from the stellar animation, music, the fight scenes and choreography, the story, the character arcs and fantastic voice acting was just incredible. Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry truly blew me away, mainly because they absolutely killed it as Optimus and Megatron and brought a level of humanity to the characters as you truly understand where both of them are coming from and how much they care for each other as friends as it genuinely breaks your heart watching them fall apart. Brian Tyree Henry especially brought such a level of complex tragedy and emotional pain as D-16/Megatron that Ive never seen before when it comes to the character and honestly, he might be my new favourite take on Megatron. Usually Megatron has never been portrayed as a sympathetic villain who was a product of a corrupt system before in most media outside of the TF comics. I loved how you can see his thought process through his eyes and how he was genuinely happy being a miner and believed in the system, but after learning about the truth about Sentinel, his entire worldview shatters, and his mental state slowly collapses more and more. The moment he is mocked and tortured by Sentinel, D-16 finally has had enough, and the moment he accidentally shoots Orion, we see I'm going through a complete emotional breakdown seeing his best friend almost dead but also perceiving it as a betrayal as D-16 has always had to cover Orion and save him for all his recklessness. However, he still chooses to take the bullet because he is trying to save D-16 from making a terrible mistake, but ultimately, it is too late, and now only Megatron exists. Chris Hemsworth was also surprisingly excellent in Optimus Prime, and it really shocked me how much range he has as an actor/voice actor, as he sounded like a young Peter Cullen. I especially love his arc of growing to understand his responsibilities, and that scene where Orion inspires the miners to fight back against Sentinel was so empowering because it really shows what kind of person Orion is I love the detail of Orion kneeling down at the miners' level because, unlike Sentinel, he was one of them and saw all of them as friends and family and inspiring all of them like a good father figure, which is everything Optimus Prime should be, a noble, hopeful leader whos never afraid to be gentle or compassionate to others. The movie is also surprisingly dark, as the trailers did not do this movie justice. There are genuinely a few mature and gruesome moments that shocked me and made me question whether this was a PG movie? It may have some moments of fun and levity for kids, which is funny, but when it needs to, it knows when to take itself seriously. It knows that the audience is smart enough to understand the Transformers franchise lore, which I appreciate. Im just disappointed with how poorly Paramount marketed this movie, as it genuinely deserved better promotion for such a great movie. The fact that one guy on Twitter single-handedly promoted the movie better than Paramount themselves and got more people to check this masterpiece is truly remarkable accomplishment. Yet, the box office has many concerned that we might not even get a sequel, which I really hope this movie does get a trilogy of Transformers animated films because there is still so much potential to dive into the Civil War of Cybertron, the Quintessons, how Cybertron ultimately collapsed from the war and explore these characters on a deeper level.

When you think about it, by forcing the miners to unknowingly mine Cybertron for Energon, the Quintessons were actually slowly killing Primus, which is their goal. They were killing two birds with one stone: 1. Kill Primus and the Transformers, and 2. Harvest Energon and grow their own empire. LIFE LONG Transformers fan and this movie is what we needed. So mad that more didn't go out to see it in theaters which may squash it's chance for a sequel. It was SO good and what the fandom needed.
YES As a lifelong transformers enjoyer. This film made me cry in the opening scene because of nostalgia from the explanation of the backstory. I love all the references to previous media hidden in the movie, designs and even the soundtrack. I love the hints of transformers prime that bleed into the primes music. I love the nods to "the death of optimus prime" in the fall as well as the fall of cybertron reference. So much stuff packed into this one. Loved it so much
Literally my favourite movie. I’ve watched it 7 times and still can’t get enough of it. Love Megatrons character and his speech at the end just immaculate. “THE AGE OF PRIMES HAS ENDED. NO MORE FALSE PROPHETS!!!” Goes so hard
Orion Pax/Optimus Prime: Chris Hemsworth D-16/Megatron: Brian Tyree Henry Elita-1: Scarlett Johansson B-127: Keegan Michael Key Alpha Trion: Lawrence Fishbourne Sentinel Prime: John Hamm Starscream: Steve Buscemi Soundwave: John Bailey Shockwave: Jason Konopisos-Alvarez Airachnid: Vanessa Liguori Darkwing: Isaac C. Singleton Jr. And one of the guards in the opening is voiced by Steve Blum! So yeah, the cast for this movie is stacked!
And Soundwave is played by Honest Trailers Jon Bailey who played Soundwave and Shockwave in Bumblebee's opening (he also va both characters in the HISHE for Bumblebee) he's also Optimus in a few things (even was the temp va for Optimus in Bumblebee which was accidentally left in the film's marketing material), Megatron in 3 things alongside his Optimus actually he played a lot of TF characters he also joined the TFone hype gang on Twitter for weeks (even changed his pfp to him wearing a Soundwave shirt)
Brian Tyree Henry really out did himself with his incredible performance and his deep understanding of Megatron since always wanted to play the villains. Every villain of his and her own Story. D-16 is not only a product of Cybertron’s failed system and takes on Sentinel Prime’s oppression though violent means all the social injustices he had experiences forged his transcendence into Megatron and building up to a rivalry with Orion turned Optimus Prime (due to wanting the same goal of a unified Cybertron but have different viewpoints). But their friendship is doomed since they discovered that shocking realization their leader Sentinel Prime has sold out Cybertron to the Quintessons after betraying his fellow Prime brothers and sisters, and ruled his planet through oppression. D-16 has put too much faith in the system he has held on to until his worldview was shattered that boils up to anger and a personal vengeance after being suffered of the social injustices while Orion still kept his optimism by exposing the truth of Sentinel's corruption. This what makes D-16 a much more of a compelling hero-turned-villain and tragic character in Transformers history. And the rift between two brothers. Both D-16 and Orion both wanted a unified Cybertron but each have different ways to bringing it into fruition.
As a lifelong Transformers fan this is the continuity I want to see more of the most! I loved this movie and you could tell the crew had a love for Transformers
Just saw this in theaters last weekend with my nephew and we loved it! This is up there with the OG first Transformers with Shia in terms of storyline, action sequences, heart and just pure entertainment. Plus It had just enough comic relief. I thought it was dope
Something fun about this film that I rarely see pointed out is that, whilst the focus is setting up Megatron's enmity with Optimus Prime, it also sets up Shockwave's Generation One conflict with Elita and her squad, and that very rarely gets adapted.
Seeing this movie in theaters was incredible. Went in completely blind and had no idea what is was about. Absolutely incredible movie. The jokes are perfectly time and the story was incredible. I hope they are making more and this is the first of a triliogy
I grew up in the 80s/90s watching Transformers, and I remember when I saw the first one with Shia- seeing Optimus Prime for the first time was awesome...but seeing Megatron for the first time gave me goosebumps!
I'm a big transformers fan, and this movie made me cry like 5 times lol. it is such a perfect origin story and there's so many references to other bits of transformers media. the animation is insane, the plotline is great, and the dynamic between orion and d-16 and their fallout is so poignant and hard hitting. the tonal shift when d-16 says he wants to kill sentinel is so palpable. the implications of this whole movie are so grim despite the cheesy jokes and colorful atmosphere. love it. i really hope we get a sequel 😩😩
After seeing that final battle in the movie, at the cinema, I had to change my pants! It was amazing! I absolutely love how they use their ability to Transform in fights, showing that when it comes to fighting, they have almost no limits!
Always loved your vids - you've managed to strike a fine balance between grounded commentary and video pacing imo - and this one is no exception! I loved the movie so much, I caught it in theatres four times. Truly an incredible movie all around, with little wasted time. It's made with so much effort. Really hope more people get it on digital so we can get a competent sequel with the same creative team and budget.
I grew up in the 80s/90s watching Transformers, and I remember when I saw the first one with Shia- seeing Optimus Prime for the first time was awesome...but seeing Megatron for the first time gave me goosebumps! It was definitely the opposite when watching this movie when both characters emerge as Optimus Prime and Megatron.
This movie is BEAUTIFULLY done. Firstly, they made the supposed metallically world vibrant & diverse. We were shown neon lighted Iacon, dimmed sub-levels, and beautiful surface with aurora and cute wild life. The other subtle beauty is their EYES. For a supposed robots they have very expressive eyes that make us immersive with their feeling.
Seb you need to react to Transformers Prime you will definetly love that show it has 3 seasons and each episode is 20-22 mins you will love that show for sure a lot of us here grew up watching that show I swear your missing on that show
I love these kinds of stories, brothers divided. Such as Anakin and obi wan, Lucifer and Michael, etc. honestly one of my favorite animated movies(top 5 imo), and my favorite movie of the year. Its most definitely the best transformers movie, an amazing backstory to one of the most iconic rivalries in history. And I also like how it showed the power dynamic between Optimus and Megatron, while Megs may have gotten the power if the strongest prime at the end of the movie, he still fell short in the face of the chosen one, Optimus prime. Also, i like how this movie sets up the difference in power between Optimus/Megatron, and star scream. It kinda makes sense tho, d16 had the cog of a prime, so hed obviously be stronger.
This movie was honestly top tier and just amazing!!!🤩 the concept was completely new and unexpected, but so unique and just enjoyable❤!! loved your reaction Seb!!
Really hope this gets a continuation- we were all deceived by a trailer which focused only on the juvenile jokes. Best piece of Transformers media since Transformers Prime. Naturally a lot of this backstory was taken from comic book lore exploring what caused Orion Pax and D-16 to become the hero and tyrant we know them as. Very X-Men: First Class.
I had non-stop chills while watching this, it’s a masterpiece that deserves more recognition and it completely changes the view of other movies. Anyways, W reaction, keep it up
There’s 3 Things I have to clarify, 1. I’m ok with the Quintessons not showing up, I’m aware how much of a Threat they are but the whole point of this Movie is how Optimus Prime and Megatron began the Formation of the Autobots and Decepticons, IF the Quintessons had appeared more often it would ruin the Film and we won’t get any Sentinel Screen Time, 2. Elita wasn’t the one that had the Idea of using Arachnid to Expose Sentinel, It was Orion who did a Quick Thinking when Arachnid said “I can see Everything” showing how Clever Pax is with his Sharp Edge and Mind, and 3. Bee was done good enough, I get that the Character didn’t evolve but Bee has done Well Enough, his presence is literally the Beginning to Pax and D16’s Journey to who they are destined to become as it was a Red Flag when they found out that there’s 50 Sub Levels instead of 40, his Creation Steve has the Map, and while I thought he was going to ruin the Movie with the Comic Relief I’m surprised there’s Layers of Humanity especially when Sentinel captures him and Dee and Dee stood up when Bee didn’t want him to stand up because he doesn’t want to see his Friends Hurt, like the Quintessons I’m pretty sure Bee will Develop especially when he losses his Voice in the War, anyway this Movie was amazing, not only is it one of the Best Movies of 2024, but it’s clearly the Best Transformers Movie of all Time, the Voice Casting was Great, the Story with the Evolution of Optimus Prime and Megatron is Interesting and Heartbreaking, Sentinel Prime is one of the Best Modern Villains in a Long Time that he’s definitely giving Homelander Vibes, and the Animation and Setup are Flawless, 10 out of 10, I’m hoping this gets a Trilogy because it deserves it and I would love to see more content from this and the Franchise.
I really like the new design for the Quintessons. (Seb, these are the guys from the 86 movie like the judge guy) Also, the axe is a reference to original cartoon where he used it in a whopping one episode, but its iconic
Transformers one is definitely the best & underrated film in the franchise. Bumblebee is my favorite character, and he was great as the comic relief of the movie.
Transformers One really is a fantastic movie, one that fans have been asking for, for ages! It uses a lot of ideas, characters, and story from many parts of the franchise, including the comics.
This is the movie I've been waiting for for a while now. Now I don't hate the '07 movie, it was great that it got back onto the big screen. But a movie without human interference and ALL about the cybertronians is it. This is a total 10/10 and the trailers did this movie no favors. I absolute love the actors and how they played their parts.
Honestly one thing that the bay films doesn’t do well is show the past relationship of megatron and prime other than one line in the last knight where megatron says “we were brothers once”. If they kept the original ending to Dark of the moon it woulda been so much better and given us a view to that past relationship

The racing sequence is my absolute favorite part of this movie. It's like a Cybertronian version of Nascar!🏎🏍🏁
Fun fact: Transformers veteran and VA Steve Blum made cameo as the Iacon 5,000 Race Announcer.
Watching this on my break, hell yeah dude
Please watch the show Transformers prime
@@sharisdsilva143I’ve seen it
Big shout out to Keegan Michael Key and John Hamm as Bumblebee and Sentinel Prime! THESE GUYS ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT!!!
11:52 he wasn’t strong enough to beat them all, he waited after they were weaker from fighting the enemies for a while and then snuck up on some of them
The wild robot you should watch next it's a beautiful movie
YES!!!
Please watch the show Transformers prime
Seb has to watch tfp
I watched this movie days ago and OH MY GOD, WHAT AN AMAZING MOVIE IT WAS!
22:52 yeah is like a demon 😂😂😂😂😂
That "BADASSATRONNNNNN" after B-127 blasted one of the quintessons was so funny for me, bro just obliterated an enemy and shouted his own nickname
not a quintesson
Orion also said he felt like he had enough power to drill down and touch Primus himself.
And so he did. When he fell.
27:40 ts was so funny for no reason😭😭
Ikr 😂 I was laughing in the theater
How did this movie not make a billion dollars
-BaDAssiTrOn
15:52 Is that a Lego Movie reference I smell? A man of culture!
I haven’t seen this yet. You are great Seb. Please watch chicken little next!
LIFE LONG Transformers fan and this movie is what we needed. So mad that more didn't go out to see it in theaters which may squash it's chance for a sequel. It was SO good and what the fandom needed.
25:30 I can’t be the only on that hears Kratos right?
ZEUS, YOUR SON HAS RETURNED
I just have no words for this movie! It was... it was just... Perfect, PERFECTION!
YES
As a lifelong transformers enjoyer.
The Decepticon symbol is based off Megatronus's face.
Well, duh. Also, in MTMTE comic line a character named Tarn wears such a mask with this symbol.
*"No more false Prophets! The Age of Prime's has ended!"* Uses a Prime's Cog?
This Transformers movie doesn’t deserve this much hate. It’s a phenomenal animated films besides Inside Out 2!
Orion Pax/Optimus Prime: Chris Hemsworth
D-16/Megatron: Brian Tyree Henry
Elita-1: Scarlett Johansson
B-127: Keegan Michael Key
Alpha Trion: Lawrence Fishbourne
Sentinel Prime: John Hamm
Starscream: Steve Buscemi
Soundwave: John Bailey
Shockwave: Jason Konopisos-Alvarez
Airachnid: Vanessa Liguori
Darkwing: Isaac C.
Give Transformers: Prime a try. It's by far the best Transformers product ever made and it's fan favourite.
Been a Transformers fan most of my life since watching Beast wars as a kid and I loved this movie!!! This is Probably the best Transformers movie.
4:37 BRO! THIS IS SO FUNNY CONSIDERING IT'S THE MOST POPULAR READING OF THE TWO'S RELATIONSHIP!!😂
As a long time Transformers fan, this is by far my favorite Transformers movie, too.
As a huge Transformers fan, this one is hands down the greatest.
Anyways, W reaction, keep it up
This is such a coincidence cos I’ve literally just come back from the cinema to watch this 😭
Top contender for the best animated film I’ve ever seen.
Absolutely love this movie
Hopefully we can get some sequels
You not watching the trailer or bio honestly made this an even more fun watch. Great vid👍🔥
1:19 bruh bro gt legs to run fir days
Loved this film. I bought the first transformers comics as they came out and took my daughter to see this. Loved it!!!
Lifelong transformers fan here. 12/10. Goated movie. New favorite transformers movie for sure
Facts , megatron reminds me a lot of anakin/vader
I thought it would be bad because it was animated, but Badasstrooonn
As a lifelong fan, I loved this movie, and it's easily the best modern day TF film. Saw it twice in theaters, and bought it digital day one.
Best Transformers film in years, up their with Bumblebee, Rise of the Beasts and the orignal animated film from the 80s.
I was crying when it comes to the end of the movie, hope to see the new part of TF1
ABSOLUTE CİNEMA 🔥🔥🔥
One of the things which I love about this movie is how it tells the origins of the Transformers, their Creator Primus, and the 13 original Primes!
I was expecting a stan bush song at the end of this movie but that "you dont have the touch, or the power" reference made up for it.
21:41 this was the scene when I was with my dad and I was moving my head everywhere looking for familiar bots
I was doing that too 😂
Your on a reaction roll, and I'm here for it. Keep it up bro your reactions are hilarious
Megatronus Prime looks so badass in this film
This movie was the best origin story for the transformers!!💙❤️🖤🤍
I really like the new design for the Quintessons. (Seb, these are the guys from the 86 movie like the judge guy) Also, the axe is a reference to original cartoon where he used it in a whopping one episode, but its iconic
Transformers one is definitely the best & underrated film in the franchise. Bumblebee is my favorite character, and he was great as the comic relief of the movie.
Best plot twist ever! Sebscreen finding out the movie is about Meagtron 😅
Transformers One really is a fantastic movie, one that fans have been asking for, for ages! It uses a lot of ideas, characters, and story from many parts of the franchise, including the comics.
I love how we got two amazing robot movies in one month. You’ve gotta watch the wild robot as well once it’s available
Seb if u loved this so much, pls try out Transformers Prime !!!!
Fr that show was so good
This is the movie I've been waiting for for a while now. Now I don't hate the '07 movie, it was great that it got back onto the big screen. But a movie without human interference and ALL about the cybertronians is it. This is a total 10/10 and the trailers did this movie no favors.
I absolute love the actors and how they played their parts.
finally, a guy who enjoyed BADASSATRON as much as I did. You're a champ
Honestly one thing that the bay films doesn’t do well is show the past relationship of megatron and prime other than one line in the last knight where megatron says “we were brothers once”. If they kept the original ending to Dark of the moon it woulda been so much better and given us a view to that past relationship
Hey seb, love the vids!I suggest watching the movie Earth to Echo, one of my favorites and is a great movie!!
I just saw on youtube that optimus prime and megatron in the final battle they said that megatron is crying
Orion’s little noise when he flips off Darkwing is a callback to the OG transformation noise.
