Bro! This is one of the most well made lessons you can find about Resolve!

Thank you for posting this. I've never tried the HDR offset for colour but I'll give it a go now. Having been in the game for nearly 40 years you’re never too old to learn something new! I liked and subscribed and hopefully, others will too.

Really sick way how you setup the settings in the back but as a beginner I had no idea where to find the settings for the first tip even though you may have mentioned it

you make a great point! this is my first tutorial so I appreciate the feedback 🙌🏻 the ‘colour space transform’ i talk about is an effect in the effects library on the colour page - just search for colour space, drag it on to the node, and adjust the settings there!

Great info, thanks. Where do you go about adding the look? Do you bake it into your bal exp sat nodes, put it after your odt or do you use timeline grades?

Actually none of the above! My look goes in a node layout after my exp bal sat etc. but before my ODT. I do everything before the ODT so that I’m always using the full Davinci WG color space, otherwise I would be restricting myself to just Rec709.

@@SamDavisonFilm okay thanks! I'm still trying to figure out how to work with corrections vs look and keeping the look consistent across the scenes. It seems timeline nodes would be a good fit for that if you correct the clips properly.

@@HardwareG33k totally! however any graphics or text in the timeline will be affected by the grade too, so a way I've only started using recently is pre and post-group node layouts, where you can group clips (usually by scene) have your IDT in pre-group, corrections on the clip, than any look creation and the ODT in the post-group. i'm thinking of making a video about this in the next few weeks to try and explain everything!

@@SamDavisonFilm that sounds very interesting, I'd like to see it! I'm using an adjustment clip workflow at the moment to avoid those issues and be able to split the looks too. Not perfect as it makes it hard to jump between scenes but it works for me.
