    What tools did you use to take off bearings, especially one inside the cover?

      The bearings inside cover I used my welder. Check out the full rebuild video.

    My Astra had a really bad humming noise in every gear. I tuck it to 3 places 1 said clutch bearing other 2 said gearbox. It sounds like an old train the noise goes very very quiet in neutral. Any idea what it is? The noise is worst when I am going down hill rather than uphill. Also how long does it take to remove the gearbox from an Astra 1.4 petrol? Thanks please reply

      Unfortunately with all that type of diagnostic/guessing you wont truly know until all stripped down and inspected. I definitely wont know just with a UA-cam comment.
      With that said, coasting down hill in gear makes the wine louder highly likely gearbox bearings are warn. Not sure exactly on 1.4 gearbox but generally around 4hr to remove should be enough.
      Check or change gearbox oil
      Does gear leaver jump or move much when going from acceleration to deceleration?
      I know of a Renault with gearbox wine.....had it for years. Still works.

    my 2009 fiat bravo 1.4 t-jet 150 hp has m32 gearbox. i changed gerabox oil 2 yeasr/35 000 km before. when should i do he next oil change?

    • @boosthit811
      @boosthit811  3 роки тому

      It depends on what kind of driving you do. If just a street run about then probably 30,000km then change. If hammered on a track then probably 5 / 10k...

    Have the same problem after the rebuild. Ordered new synchros so will try to replace the old ones. Hopefully they are compatible with old sleeve and gear design, because I see that the part numbers have changed..

    Hi. Yesterday I changed the oil in my gearbox after 174 thousand km, and I was surprised by the amount of oil poured out about 1.6 liters of oil🤔. Fortunately, I did not find metal filings on the butt plug, with makes me happy 😊

    Hi, I got an astra gtc 1.4t. Recently I think I stripped my third gear. There is a whine in 2nd gear which progressively becomes louder. At first downshifting into third it would crunch and now it pops out of 3rd gear when I accelerate. I'm worried because now my 4th gear also crunches when downshifting now. What's your advice?

    • @boosthit811
      @boosthit811  3 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately there is no quick fix with gearbox issues. With something like that you wouldn't know until stripped down. Possibly more cost effective to find a good second hand box.

    Hi i get gearstick movement when i lift the clutch in 1st and 4th gear do you know what that could possibly be? Also my gearstick gets very stiff after long periods of driving for example the gearstick will not centre to neutral after a long drive but will be fine after the car is cold again any ideas? thanks

      I would do a gearbox oil change first. See what the oil that comes out is like. Check the gearbox mounts especially the near side one.

    Did you found out the cause? Was it because of the synchros or because of the 4th gears cone which didnt want to grab? because..why the same synchro did grab 3th gear but didnt want to grab 4th one? I have the same problem but with the 3th gear. 4th one engages fine but 3th one only if done slowly wont grind.
