    I don't understand people that always want tab... Man, if you love these songs, you'll search for those licks ! Yes, it takes time. Yes, it's difficult, but you'll learn much more by using your ears. So I thank you so much Scott for your videos. I'm only 15 and I made so much progress thanks to you. Those boys were crazy !!! 🤠

    Your tutorials keep the music alive and are so good and pick up the fine details. I still love your comment about Sweet Home when you say you practice it almost everyday and still hear new things. Me too! The simplest song, but also the most complex. That Smell is another one and am so glad we have you to help us.

    On 15:50 there’s a syncopation lick that Gaines does bubba. Nobody has to do exactly like him but it’s indeed there. Because he hits that beat then comes up with a bend on the off beat.

    One of my all time favorites Scott...it's a difficult multilayered tune with some strange dissonance (E-D) that shouldn't work but does. You DEFINITELY rocked it! I cheat like hell and don't even get close to right but for a bunch of drunks we (old farts) always get the "YOU FOOKERS ROCK" screams....hehe It really needs a guitar army to make it sound this good and we don't have a guy that can keep up but MAN! I'd LOVE to spend a couple days getting it down and just nail it on stage just one frikin time! hehe The calls and answers give me shivers every time. Handing off back and forth blows me away too. Thanks once again Scott....I've learned more great stuff from you than you can imagine....rock on!

    Very kewl, Scott! I woke up this Thanksgiving Eve to your vids on this great tune! Normally, this is a bittersweet day, being the Anniversary (60th) of JFK’s assassination. Unfortunately, It’s also my bday (11/22/63). While I’m certainly grateful for what I have, and glad to be alive & well, the pallor of the defining moment of a Gen hangs over this day. TYVM for this unintentional bday gift! This great ditty has a lot of layers and nuance, and you peel that onion and distill it down perfectly! BTW, I got the “Street Survivors” Blu-ray set after hearing you plug it on another one of your vids. I didn’t realize that it had been released until I saw that. Hopefully, I can get to your upcoming NJ APB show and get it signed and meet the band and yourself. Cheers!

    Hi Scott, what guitar are you using, sounds great? I’m excited that I got to see the licks as they’re done. Basically, I had much of them right, for the parts I do in the band. There were some quirks on timing which I got better listening to you go over them. I’m 70 now and still want to do another big concert type gig like I did with my old band and with the band I’m in now, I just might get to do that….if I can remember all the stuff. I’m not use to doing things exactly like the record because I just played songs and made them sound like the band I was doing. Thanks again. You big guys don’t have to do this and us locals really appreciate you showing it straight on.

    Great video Scott, thanks! I play a lot of the same songs and just switched to a toneX live. I'd love a video talking about how you play these old school songs on a digital rig like a Kemper. After 30 years of tube amps its a lot of adjusting! I'd be super curious how many "sounds" a night you use.

    • @seraines

    Curious. Do you find it harder to play slowed down because it wasn't written slow, and possibly because at full speed it becomes more muscle memory than "thinking it" ? I had a spine injury a year ago and I'm still struggling to play things I've played on auto pilot forever. Suggestions ???

    • @seraines
      @seraines  7 місяців тому

      For me, it’s muscle memory. I always recommend practicing small portions with a metronome. Start as slow as you need to and work your way up slowly.
      In songs that I’m able to play fast, slowing them down with a metronome and working on technique helps clean it up when I play at regular speed.
      Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
