- We recently had the opportunity to visit Guatemala while shooting a project for a non-profit. We got a small taste of what the country had to offer during those five days, but it would be unlike us not to make the most of the trip, and we booked an additional two weeks to spend traveling and filming as much as possible.
We visited places like Antigua, Pacaya and Acatenango Volcanoes, Lake Atitlán, and Tikal and did our best to show off Guatemala in all its glory. I'd looked into coming here in the past but never realized how world-class many of these places really are. We both wish we could have spent more time in the country as we only scratched the service, but in those two weeks we spent a couple nights sleeping next to an erupting volcano, climbing Mayan ruins, and exploring the villages and volcanoes around Atitlán.

Amazing takes; the highlands fir woodlands, boca costa cloud forests, coastal manglar forests and jungles and white sand and black sand beaches in the Pacifico and Caribe Coasts make Guatemala as diverse and amazing as the American continent in one quick stop.

Hoy 15 de septiembre celebramos la independencia, pero más que eso, la guatemalidad; lo que nos hace sentir que pertenecemos a un lugar en el que nos identificamos y nos sentimos en casa. Dicen que nuestra bandera también está inspirada en la argentina y mis recuerdos más que estar ligados a la música ranchera o boleros méxicanos, lo está a la música de Leo Dan, los Iracundos, Sandro, palito Ortega, Rabito y todavía me emociona ver las retransmisiones de "Titanes en el Ring"; recordar la final de México 86 donde todos éramos argentinos, yo incluso en mis seis años...
Inmensa nuestra Latinoamérica, en sus diferencias y peculiaridades está nuestra riqueza. Ojalá un día lo comprendamos.

Spectacular, it's a shame that not all parts of Guatemala can take a camera without feeling "fear" of robbery and that some government tourist places do not allow "cameras or drones."
But the video is spectacular, by the way, what camera do you use? and what logarithmic color did you use?

Thanks so much Jorge, we used a Sony a7iv and shot everything in SLog3. The color on this camera is much better than previous Sony cameras that we'd used and it way better for grading.

Awesome video!! I’m traveling to Guatemala from the US next month with a bunch of film gear for about 11 days. Any advice on storing gear/transportation/hostels and what not?
Hey Rahul - I was there for a video project prior to shooting this and stored most of my extra gear at a hotel in Guatemala City. Then I just picked it up at the end before flying out. In between, we traveled with a couple cameras, drones, gimbal, lenses, and some small stuff and stayed at hostels. We booked private rooms for security purposes but just traveled with everything in our backpacks between locations. Hope that helps!
