Varanasi - Cinematic travel film (Sony A7iii)

- Varanasi, the oldest city with no shortage of characters and colours. I made this cinematic travel film to show you what it felt like to step in to a different world, to see a culture which has been preserved for thousands of years still alive and well today.
I loved my time here, it's like a creatives heaven full of inspiration, my favourite part was hanging with the Sadhu's (holy men) talking to them and learning about their way of life. For me this is what travel's about, learning and connecting with others, making memories and finding more of yourself out there in the world.

Some shots were taken in Orchha, a small rural town on the way to Varanasi, additional footage was also supplied from Jenny (@otherworld.ly follow her!)
I know i'll be back in Varanasi in future, it's just one of those places that feels like there's so much more there to discover.

They also don't seem to move beyond the themes of chaos and spirituality. It's so done and dusted. There are so many Indian storytellers who capture India amazingly!

Awesome film. I've been to India several times and just can't seem to get enough. Varanasi is exceedingly difficult to explain to people in the west, but you have succeeded well.

I’m going to India to film for a documentary. I was literally listening to this Bonobo song / remix this morning and thinking how good it would go with a cinematic montage of Kashi - what a delightful funny experience seeing this video with that exact song. The video is amazing, bravo. If you would like to share the lenses you used / would recommend I would appreciate it. I’m also on Sony full frame. 🙏🏼

You nailed the intro talking about the chaos. That's exactly the feeling I had when I went through India and you learn to embrace it. I didn't particularly enjoy India but I took something away from it.
Then, you should come again and try a different part of India. India is very big and very diverse try the calmer and spiritual side this time.
This is the only travel video I have liked of my life !

Covid 19 has us all in the Camel Clutch, a wrestling manuever used by a former WWE wrestler The Iron Sheik and therefore India as well as many other places are closed to spiritual seekers of the Truth and the Self. No. Instead go to forests of Kerala, and the deserts of Rajasthan ... Varanasi is interesting then again to people not from that part of the world it will always remain interesting. To understand the core of India go to the places I mention. Trust me. It’s more fascinating and least explored by the west. To me Varanasi is an explosion of spiritual, India and its history is far more than just spiritual.

There are so many so called photographers and videographers who shows the poverty and the unhygienic part of this country by their cameras. But they always forget that there is a lot more in this country and the people of this country that makes them more special and unique. You have shown that part through this video.
