If your telling him to not go 35s because of gas mileage just stop if he's got the money to afford a brand new jeep and all the mods I don't think he's worried about gas
Krypticate brand new... With the state of the original shock, unless he abused the shit out of it since he have it, its not new. But i get what you saying. You dont cheke gas milage with a jeep, thats not there build for.
Here's a couple of mods you may want to do after 35s: steering stabilizer flip, evap canister relocation, longer brake lines, spring correction wedges, extend diff breather hoses and longer swaybar end links (front & back) with quick disconnect. I would personally get rid of those geometry correction brackets and just get lower control arms instead. The brackets will get hung up and are kinda annoying. Ask me how I know. Grade 8 bolt kit is kinda important too. It prevents death wobble. Most of the things I mentioned are pretty cheap, aside from the lower control arms. Just a couple of suggestions. Love the channel even more now that there's a Jeep in it. Have fun, Strad!
I love jeeps, theyre so manly and raw and theyre very good on and off road and theyre very popular in america and out and theyre really nice looking and really good with modifications
I appreciate these kind of videos. Just by having vehicles and cruising is fine but doing your own simpler mods like this makes me want to watch it. It feels like my buddies and I working on our cars
If you're going to go above 35s you're likely going to want to regear the axles. the larger the tire the taller the gears youre going to have which hurts gas mileage, makes your car feel very sluggish on road, and take away the ability to just crawl over obstacles offroad. I would also recommend you keep your tire size small. For durability and grip, it would be ideal to stay under a 17" wheel because then you can air down without risk of bending a rim. Next mod after that I would recommend you get a winch and bumper since being able to recover yourself is ideal when going alone. Most importantly, get out there and use it. So many people wait to fully build their jeeps before itll even touch dirt. In reality, you should use it and decide on your own what you should get for mods based on what you feel youre lacking
Hey James, big fan of the channel. Would be interested to see some more of your entrepreneurial videos as this is how I first discovered your channel. Have you considered some car flipping videos as a sideline? No offence but you post a lot of exotic car content and without much of a back story they're not as interesting as the hands on videos like this one. Keep up the good work! Russ, UK
"Don't ever jack up your Jeep like this, totally unsafe." One minute later (3:50) James is lying underneath the wheel, ready to have all his ribs broken.
Yooo I'm a new subscriber and just ran across this vid. I have a '15 white Rubicon JKU and I put that EXACT same lift on by myself. That feeling of finally putting those AEV stickers on after I was done was unbelievable. You made it look easy; I know it wasn't. Love the channel and super/hyper/redonkulous car content. Hasta
If you're going up to 35s I'd suggest getting 4.56 or 4.88 gears and since it's a Sahara you could do locking differentials at the same time. Other than that maybe flat fenders or bumpers for looks and a Warn winch.
Good choice with the AEV kit. I personally run a 3.5" kit on my 2 door rubicon with 35s. It gets me everywhere I want to go (could fit 37s but drive too much on the highway and 35s are good enough for a daily driver). The geometry correction of the AEV kit makes the jeep handle great on the highway.
That is the exact lift I want on my JK. Excited to see it get built up. I would figure out what you want for tire size. If you are going too big you might want to look at rear bumpers with a tire carrier next so you can haul the larger spare.
He needs to actually wheel it before any of that. He's afraid to go down a bumpy dirt road that a stock XJ can handle, he needs to get more experience driving it off road before he figures out what to do next
Use your brains for a change. Not only will a wrap will protect his paint, it will make his Jeep unique. It will stand out, attract viewers, and help his channel grow, earning him more money. He will be instantly recognizable everywhere he drives it. It is a great business investment.
Just got 33s for my 2016 jku. Love them and I'll be looking at a 2.5 inch in the next few months. If I were you the next thing I would do (besides wheels and tires) would be take off the mud flaps and consider taking off the running boards and add sliders or just anything that isn't plastic. Can't wait to see what you do next.
This is the exact kit that I have. I put this kit on myself too. I installed mine in a day and a half. I've had this kit for 3 years and it really softens up. You will float over all the bumps. I will recommend onboard air or Viair 450P or better air compressor. You'll need to lower the air pressure when you're off road. Washboard roads will be a thing of the past. Love your channel.
Cool to see you doing it yourself. It's a paint to film during a DIY, too. Good work there dude. It might not be the view magnet that the supercars are, but I for one really like the daily vlog and DIY stuff you put out. Kinda thinking about lifting my own ride, and it looks at least somewhat possible based on your experience....
You will regret 35's. takes away to much power and will kill the gas mileage. 33s will still look good and not have as much downfall. Speaking from past experiences!
Who regrets 35's? Anything smaller is a waste of time lol I have 3.5" lift, 4.88 gears, 37's and AEV ProCal. My previous JKU was 4" lift, 5.13 gears and 37's...it's not a time consuming process at all and if you want to ride around off-road you won't regret the larger tire at all. I never looked back at my 33's and missed them
Looking good James, nice to see you working on your Rig ! Don't forget when you go to a bigger tire it changes your drive ratio, which can hurt your mileage, acceleration, and burn up your clutch. You may have to change out your differential gearing to compensate the bigger tires, more money, but do it the way you like. Nice belt ;-)
If you want some...... Goodyear Tires 35X12.50R18LT, Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar .......I can get you a set of 4 for half-price. I was going to restore a Jeep but the deal fell through on the Jeep so I ended up left with a new set of tires.
Well as long as you are have some ability to either pay, pick it up, or have a good reputation with online sales...sure. Apparently you can send them unwrapped throughout the country. If you live near Ohio that would be best though. The tires are clean, brand new and still have their stickers/labels on them. However they are gigantic.
AWESOME!!! They have been safely stored indoors and I've considered using them as furniture. I live in Columbus....please email me bobrobertsxxxxx @ gmail com. thats five x's after bobroberts. I can send you all the pics and specs as well.
Make sure you keep those shocks cleaned or occasionally use a lubricant that will stop it from rusting. I have the 4.5in AEV lift kit on mine but the previous owner didn't keep an eye on them so they're rusted quite a bit. Otherwise the lift kit is amazing on the road and great off the road, looking forward to seeing what you pick for wheels/tires.
Nice we all start somewhere. Get some 1.5 spacers for the wheels if you don’t get after market yet. Can I recommend fishbone flat fenders to. Great product I run teraflex 3 with 1.25 body lift. Falcon res shocks, monster track bars and others. The track bar stiffened up the side roll a lot !
I'm new to your channel and have been checking out your more recent stuff. Imagine my surprise, in this video, when I saw you own not one, but TWO actual pairs of pants! I was used to looking at Strad Legs.
In this order: bumpers fenders light bar (maybe lights on the front bumper too) oh and also 35 inch BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A K02's are great! Good for moderate off roading and still have a good on road ride quality!
You only have a 2.5 inch lift. 35's will rub when turning sharp and kill your MPG. I suggest 33's, and your next mod should be the front bumper or wheels!
35' will only rub the plastic under the bumper. Just cut one inch and you're good or remove the plastic cover. That doesn't protect the parts from water or salt so get rid of it. If extreme off-road is something you consider its gonna rub with the fenders for sure. Just buy a body lift to add a bit more space.
Pay no attention to the man behind the comment lol... 1.5 spacers and cut a little off the front skid plate and your good. No spacers If you have aftermarket 4.5 back space wheels
That OEM suspension was shot. I had the same thing and a new OEM set of struts and found the jeep to drive noticeably better. The 2.5 lift does look really good though.
Bass Nation My one autistic video is ironic and stupid on purpose. Those light bars rarely have any use and look stupid, plus they make additional wind noise. Only time you'd need one is if you were doing serious night time off roading.
Same Jeep and color, also going with an overland build on this one! Matter fact just picked up some limb risers from smittybilt. Be sure to check the drive shaft boots connecting at the transfer case, the lift might pinch the boot and tear it flinging grease everywhere. Terraflex sells Rzeppa High Angle Factory replacement which will take care of it for less than $150 if you don't want to spend $400 on new driveshaft (tomwoods is a good brand if you do) Also on my 07 2 door, I ran 37s with stock gears which wasn't too horrible but you'll want a gear change although it isn't immediately necessary. The only problem with 35s is when you park next to someone with 37s or 40s, envy will begin to run through your veins lmao
I have the same lift with 315/70/17 cooper mtp's that measure 33.75 inches. The ride quality is equal or better than stock. Geo correction brackets are awesome too! The 3.73 gears are not too bad either but would like to go with 37's and gear swap.
Dirt N Water , light bar equals unnecessary whistle at highway speeds. looks aren't everything. how often will it get used? mods need to be justifiable with usage/function/money.
Dirt N Water Light bars are mostly installed by mall cralwer owners for looks. It is nonsense, wasted money, and provides zero use for them because they never offroad at night (or ever). I laugh out loud every time I see a Jeep with lightbars.
Jake Weber That's sad. So many better vehicle options your mom could have choosen. But, she wanted to attempt to be "cool". Sadly, the opposite was achieved. All she did was make her on road car less road worthy. Those tires are not very good on road. Not only is the ride not as comphy, but, also much less safe. So much less traction on road and way worse stopping distances. She sacrificed her and her families comfort and safety for nonsense she doesn't use for its intended purpose. And the light bar... I bet that won't be switched on ever for any practical use. Now a days so many Wranglers are sold and modded by non-offroaders that the true Jeep culture is almost dead. It used to be cool to own a Jeep Wrangler. Now, I wouldn't want to be seen in one.
Shane Bryson And when do you use it? Do you offroad at night? Or perhaps you live out in the country? In populated areas for non-offroaders these can't be used. Illegal to use on the road. And they don't go offroading. So, never used for the vast majority of people with light bars. Hell, I even have old style circle lights on my 1998 Cherokee (Which I bought and built up especially for offroading). Lights were already on it when I purchased it. Only thing I use the Cherokee for is offroading and camping trips. I've never once used the top lights.
CJ White Sports are the worst wrangler. The Rubicon is the top dog. It has the luxury options of the Sahara, but 10 times the off-road capability due to the diff locks, Dana 44 rear axle, and the Dana 44 gearing in a Dana 30 front axle.
Rubicons are unnecessary if you're gonna do your own upgrades. They were made because jeep figured if people are going to make hardcore off roaders out of them they should pay jeep for it instead of 3rd party companies. Sports are where it's at because you're not paying for extra jeep that you're going to change anyway. And the Sahara are called the pavement princess for a reason. The gear ratio is meant for high speed on commercial roads. You want an off road jeep, buy a sport and do it yourself.
After wheels and tires a stock a snorkel bumper light bars a rack on top for off roaring tools and regular camping stuff and portable gas tanks in the back by the extra tire that always looks dope and a exhaust!
Is there a way to modify the driver side to move the seat 2 inches to the right so my 6'9 big frames left shoulder will not squish into the side without removing the door?
I'm gonna hook up my 2016 jeep wrangler with some big tires and wheels...but I want to get some more horsepower and thinking of getting a complete exhaust from the headers on back...any suggestions of what to get and what else can I do for more power? Thanks for the help;-)
Daniel Sbardella 37's look great, but they are unnecessary for a daily driver that will barely see off road. 35's with 17" wheels is the way to go with 2.5" lift and aftermarket fenders that allow my clearance cuz then fenders make it lifted higher
put some light bars in the top and some new wheels forgiatos will look good some few speaker or a police siren or train horn and paint matt red the jeep
Hey i need some opinions!! Hard Rock or regular Rubicon?? IDK if i like the hood on HR, I think it looks a little too sporty for a Jeep Wrangler what do you guys think??
"Can definitely feel the extra 2.5 inches...getting in and out " - Your Girl
That's sooooo rude!
But yes, I did laugh.
LMAO
Hahaha
He looks like Murr from impractical jokers
Sean Molo lol that’s the first thing that came to my mind 😂😂😂😂
LOL
Sean Molo u right
Hahaha
10:50 when she asks how big you are

doug st.laurent on a TJ you need that much, not on a Jk
doug st.laurent completely inaccurate 😂😂
Plus your not even a real man unless you have 37's or bigger. 35's are for little boys. Any smaller is for pussies.🇺🇲🚗
@@Motivation-Central You know you're a little bitch when your masculinity is defined by the size of your tires

InvisiblePXLS 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
This should be top comment right here.
Absolutely the best comment!!! I've done this work professionally for 17 years!! InvisiblePXLS is 100% correct!
InvisiblePXLS finnaly someone who knows what he's talking about lol
"2 1/2 inches, baby" - Stradman
"I definitely can feel the extra 2 1/2 inches when gettin' in and out." - Also Stradman.
Nano B thats what she said

Patrick Raymond you definitely backed fired yourself there lol 100% fail.

German?
i swear at 5:37 i thought a kid was getting to put the springs in place 😂😂
get rid of those side steps and put some sliders on / skid plates.
Love seeing progression on this build!
I appreciate these kind of videos. Just by having vehicles and cruising is fine but doing your own simpler mods like this makes me want to watch it. It feels like my buddies and I working on our cars
Love videos where the modifications are recorded, great video 👍
Lookin' good man!! Let the Jeep adventures being!!
2.5 inch lift with 33’s is the best combo
That’s what I have

Thanks for reminding me to leave that like. Keep doing you man, most genuine YT'r I've came across.

Russell Bird that's a really good idea actually.
"Don't ever jack up your Jeep like this, totally unsafe."
One minute later (3:50) James is lying underneath the wheel, ready to have all his ribs broken.
I thought the same, but you can see he's put Jack stands. Still stupid though.

glad to start seeing you get physical with the tools and parts (DIY)
I've been waiting a long time for this video. It looks great.
I've been waiting for this since april!!!
JEEP - Just empty every pocket.
though I drive a Jeep. but it's a compass and I only like it for road trips and commuting.
Ky Same with my patriot, it does well on road trips.
Hayden Rearick I'm sure you do
To bad it's a jeep SUV and not a real jeep! 2 doors rule!!!!! Look on the registration it say's SUV!
for reals. jeeps are overly expensive.
Good choice with the AEV kit. I personally run a 3.5" kit on my 2 door rubicon with 35s. Front bumper
Back bumper
Winch
Roll cage
Wrap it
Lift and tires are more important than any of that cosmetic shit
He needs to actually wheel it before any of that. He's afraid to go down a bumpy dirt road that a stock XJ can handle, he needs to get more experience driving it off road before he figures out what to do next
Awesome Bryce2118 don't wrap a vehicle you take off-road...
Dena Barton dont wrap a vehicle period!!!
Use your brains for a change. Not only will a wrap will protect his paint, it will make his Jeep unique. It will stand out, attract viewers, and help his channel grow, earning him more money. He will be instantly recognizable everywhere he drives it. It is a great business investment.
37 inch tires and new wheels!!!!!!! Don't skip leg day
"Can definitely feel the 2 and a half inches when getting out." 😂
Just got 33s for my 2016 jku. Love them and I'll be looking at a 2.5 inch in the next few months. If I were you the next thing I would do (besides wheels and tires) would be take off the mud flaps and consider taking off the running boards and add sliders or just anything that isn't plastic. if you get 35s I would say the next mod should be a offroad bumper I think it would look weird with stock front bumper.
"i can definitely feel the extra 2.5 inches when getting in and out"
that's what she said...

Did you know you’d have a Bugatti and 3 lambos in 4 years when you made this video? Keep going!
that soda fountain tho...
5% tint with a 5inch ish tint strip
Nice... can't wait to see it when its done!
Good to see you spinning some wrenches on the JEEP. Keep it up
You will regret 35's. takes away to much power and will kill the gas mileage. 33s will still look good and not have as much downfall. Speaking from past experiences!
Curtis Gandolph not with a proper tune and regear
whiteie 3 ain't nobody got time for dat
Not in a jk. Pretty much all my friends run 35s on stock gearing, no probs. Most people only regear to 5.13 when they step up to 37s
I've got 35's and the AEV lift with the Procal Module Retune and stock gears. New engine handles it well compared to the older models.
I never looked back at my 33's and missed them
get those wheels and tires asap looks wrong with the OEM ones on with that lift
Alfred Rama I hate the wheels on Sahara's
Looking good James, nice to see you working on your Rig ! Don't forget when you go to a bigger tire it changes your drive ratio, which can hurt your mileage, acceleration, and burn up your clutch. I'm so glad you did It yourself it makes it so much more interesting
If you want some...... Goodyear Tires 35X12.50R18LT, Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar .......I can get you a set of 4 for half-price. I was going to restore a Jeep but the deal fell through on the Jeep so I ended up left with a new set of tires.
Dylan Brandtman would you sell then to anybody
Well as long as you are have some ability to either pay, pick it up, or have a good reputation with online sales...sure. Apparently you can send them unwrapped throughout the country. I love his French bulldog !!! that dog is worth like $5k+
Esnesio where I live it's your avg dog
Jake Weber wtf I mean with that color it's worth alot
Esnesio It's pretty average and it isn't his
Looks really cute. Especially when he was a little puppy
Actually really surprised you installed lift kit yourself. Nice to see you working on your own jeep👍🏻
Great job man, I like these Jeep videos.
RIPP supercharger
New fenders, and bumpers, and a crazy wrap on it
Make sure you keep those shocks cleaned or occasionally use a lubricant that will stop it from rusting. you will eventually be 15 to 20k in mods with this jeep.
ask me how i know?
Like Squad Checking In💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻😈
Thatll look great pulling your UTV trailer. Top down and ac cranked!
I'm new to your channel and have been checking out your more recent stuff. Imagine my surprise, in this video, when I saw you own not one, but TWO actual pairs of pants!
I was used to looking at Strad Legs.
put the led light or the angry grill
David Ochoa Both of those at ass mods
New engine front and rear bumper wench rap and role cage
there is already a rollcage in it from factory
I can agree with you on how the Jeep rocks a lot when hitting bumps, my Sahara does the same thing
In this order:
bumpers
fenders
light bar (maybe lights on the front bumper too)
oh and also 35 inch BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A K02's are great!
I run 35s with spacers stock no rub at all
Pay no attention to the man behind the comment lol... 1.5 spacers and cut a little off the front skid plate and your good. No spacers If you have aftermarket 4.5 back space wheels
Hell yeah, Dr Pepper
Where's the Mountain Dew?
That's a Pepsi product..
That OEM suspension was shot. I had the same thing and a new OEM set of struts and found the jeep to drive noticeably better. The 2.5 lift does look really good though.
depends on tire size, gears and a Dana 44 front to support a 37"tire if you go that big.
bumpers
Get a led light bar
Arachnofondler have you seen your UA-cam channel
Bass Nation My one autistic video is ironic and stupid on purpose. Those light bars rarely have any use and look stupid, plus they make additional wind noise. Only time you'd need one is if you were doing serious night time off roading.

I can definitely feel the extra 2.5" when going in and out
The Strad man wrap wrangler matte black and make rims black let me know ill send you desgins as i have wrap company like if you agree
your next mod should be converting it to an aston martin
HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have the same lift with 315/70/17 cooper mtp's that measure 33.75 inches. The ride quality is equal or better than stock. Geo correction brackets are awesome too! The 3.73 gears are not too bad either but would like to go with 37's and gear swap.
"I can defiantly feel those extra 2in" lmao
add a light bar above the windshield! mainly for looks
Kyle Allen yeah my mom has a pavement princess like it's got bf Goodrich km2s but it's all street and the light bar is absolutely horrid
Jake Weber That's sad. So many better vehicle options your mom could have choosen. But, she wanted to attempt to be "cool". Sadly, the opposite was achieved.
Shouldn't have gotten a Sahara. Sports are better
CJ White sports aren't as nice and knowing him he has to be "top class" say in British smug voice
False
After wheels and tires a stock a snorkel bumper light bars a rack on top for off roaring tools and regular camping stuff and portable gas tanks in the back by the extra tire that always looks dope and a exhaust!
You guys would be a blast to hang with!!! GREAT video! THANKS!
You should put a snorkel and bull bars on it. And lights on the bull bars and roof. Off road tyres also.
D Hogan bull bars are for old men in F 150's... always go full bumper
stop trolling every comment, I'm tired of seeing your ugly face
D Hogan the snorkel is unnecessary and is he going to be doing deep river fording probably not
Jake Weber mabey not but it would look cool.
D Hogan ok
When you drive a Lambo and Jeep but still can't make a match on Tinder. #SmallPenisLife
The country music, the can of dip in your pocket (9:18), classic.
Is there a way to modify the driver side to move the seat 2 inches to the right so my 6'9 big frames left shoulder will not squish into the side without removing the door?
Next mod snorkel intake and roof/rally lights.
Apollo Sport why the snorkel all e does is some back trails
swag
mad props on doing the work urself. remember to keep old rims and wheels for everyday driving.
I'm gonna hook up my 2016 jeep wrangler with some big tires and wheels...but I want to get some more horsepower and thinking of getting a complete exhaust from the headers on back...any suggestions of what to get and what else can I do for more power? Thanks for the help;-)
Love the videos, huge inspiration! I started vlogging and just hit 1.7k subs 😱 love the videos! 🙏
Owen Voelkner I've been vlogging off and on for years and I have 61 subs. WTH? Ohh well. Got to find the right content I guess.
Andrew Smith y tho
I started my channel about one month ago and I have reached 84 subs so far. My content is awesome, but I just don't, advertise that much. :)
what a jerk u are
i mean jonathan
Please go 37 you will regret 35's in the future
I love how the comment below you is the total opposite lol
I just noticed that too. Too bad I can't pin two comment threads haha
You wont need 37s for overlanding. 35s are perfect for an on road/off road dual purpose rig.
Daniel Sbardella 37's look great, but they are unnecessary for a daily driver that will barely see off road. 35's with 17" wheels is the way to go with 2.5" lift and aftermarket fenders that allow my clearance cuz then fenders make it lifted higher
i went 35s and wish i went 37s
“I can definitely feel the extra 2.5” getting in and out”

i like your videos a lot better when you're not sticking your head out of windows yelling "Centenario! Centenario! Centenario!"
Hey i need some opinions!! Hard Rock or regular Rubicon?? IDK if i like the hood on HR, I think it looks a little too sporty for a Jeep Wrangler what do you guys think??
After market Front bumper is a must! Makes the jeep look so much better !!!
