Why not go with membership, like Costco or Sam's Club? Guard the door and scan the shoppers' identities. Solved.
And background check for retail theft required to get a membership. And background check for being a Democrat, too. 😏
I like how the commissioner talked about it like it was someone else’s problem
It doesn't affect him. He's wealthy.
It is, not his.
yea nothing he said had to do with stopping crime
It's always opposites day in the left wing progressive world.
Its store problem that they dont hire armed security.
The new Chicago mayor said the Wal-Mart closing there is very unfair to his citizens-"Where are they going to go to shop lift now?"
The question isn’t where are they going to shop, rather “ where are they going to go now to rob, steal, loot and destroy. Don’t come to Florida, we don’t want SCUM like you in OUR neighborhoods.
it wouldn't be fun to work in a store where criminals and drug addicts are allowed to come in and run loose. It would be hard to find staff to work "minimum wage" and risk being assaulted, spat on, verbally abused and at risk always.
More like where are they going to go to steal. They brought this on themselves don’t have a pity for any of them
They're getting busloads of new criminals from the border too!
Walmart is not the largest Capital Corporation anymore. Google it and you’ll be surprised. Check from(2000-2022),then you’ll will get some knowledge.
Residents of Portland, "You can't close down Wal-Mart! Where are we going to go to steal stuff if they leave?"
From your fellow criminals
Target.
Commissioner Gonzales says WORKING HARDER means TAXING and ARRESTING CRIME VICTIMS so his drug addicts can keep buying drugs and voting for him in 2024.
No MENTION of arresting criminals
Why people of Portland complaining, that’s what you voted for!
1990's - if there's a Walmart near you... it's a ghetto, bad neighborhood..
2020's - if Walmart's leaving your neighborhood.....
When "The People of Wal-Mart" need a good laugh, they look at, "The People of Portland."
Who knew defunding the police would have negative consequences
Anyone with a brain.
But when Walmart breaks the law all we hear from you is crickets.
Who knew? Every conscious person with some intelligence.
Definitely not a democrat that for sure
Lol🤣💯
They got what they voted for.
The locals get what they vote for. Portland and Seattle didn't become dystopias by chance, but by vote.
when i was in architecture school, the professors always talked about how we need to do more to help the "underserved communities". I lived in some pretty sketchy areas before and i always thought those professors were mad. The reason why those areas are "underserved" was because they destroyed everyone that tried to serve them. The riots in the 1960s, 1970s, 1992 LA riot, and the bIm riots destroyed the stores. a new community organic garden isnt going to help. its the people there that caused this.
When you disenfranchise a whole community where they don't actually own the businesses in the area... Then yeah, it's easier for people who are constantly ignored and alienated by the system to break the system.
E: It's literally crickets from you guys when Walmart steals $224M of wages... But somehow you want me to believe it's the theft that makes you mad 🤔🤔
There always sending engineers & charity workers into the jungle.

@@WanderingExistenceWhy would anyone run a business in those areas when those people are EXTREMELY violent?
@@Digger-Nick Why is it extremely violent?
@@WanderingExistence Why are those people the way they are? They have responsibility for their actions and behavior.
In Africa there are stores, you go in there is only 1 item on display of each product/brand, you take the token/tokens below it of what you want. You go to check out they then get the items from out back show you and is put in a cage. You pay they release your side of the cage door and you can take and leave. ( then you go outside and get beaten & robbed)
In the U.S. we used to have a chain called Service Merchandise where you filled out a paper form and paid, and then the employees brought the items to a pickup area. Today that would be far easier to work because the selections and payments could all be done through computer kiosks. Zero shoplifting.
And I thought it was bad to have to hunt down a store employee to get razors, or hair care products, make up, a watch.
Oh my . . .😮
😂😳
Portland was a nice place 50 years ago. I moved out in 1987.
Portland Go Woke - Go Broke I'm glad I left.
Probably the one vote we needed...
Here's the cycle:
1 ) Tony is a drug addict, who likes to steal to support his habit.
2 ) Tony's relatives don't approve, but at the same time they don't want to see him punished for his crimes.
3 ) Tony's relatives vote for mayors and DA's that will go easy on Tony.
4 ) Tony continues stealing until the store (that all of Tony's relatives shop at) has finally had enough of Tony, and closes its doors.
5 ) Tony's relatives, failing to either see or understand the direct correlation, decry the closure citing racism as the reason behind it.
6 ) Tony moves on to steal from other businesses that haven't gotten the memo yet.
7 ) Tony's relatives are screwed, but nevertheless vote to reelect the very people who allowed it all to happen.
8 ) Rinse & Repeat
Tony sounds like a Tyrone 😅and Villano sounds Mexican. I appreciate your input because it’s correct but you are part of the problem. Please go back to your country and stay there 😅
Lol "Tony". Try Jamal.
Did Tony scare you when you were a kid?
Tony or Tyrone?
@@MarkRVillano Is this where you cry about how mean the left is?
The real story is not Wal-Mart leaving Portland, it's the fact that there are any stores staying. 🤔
The whole west coast is a mess, from Mexico to Canada.
Your city leaders are some real geniuses.
It doesn't take a genius to see that crime is having a huge impact! The fact that a post office has boards on its windows is a travesty all its own.
Boarded up windows at the local post office, almost seems like third world conditions. Maybe a small indicator of the way the city is going or alright gone. Don't feel sorry for them, they got what they voted for.

classic example of "oh no, the consequences of my actions"
The consequences of SOME people's actions. The many, are suffering for the few...
The same thing is happening in Chicago. Years ago, Walmart pulled out of the west side of Aurora, Illinois when theft and crime got too bad.
Hard to feel sorry for people that got exactly what they wanted.
100%!
I’m angry the city I was born in, and took pride in hailing from, has degenerated into what it has become. Good job progressive voters. You all should find the nearest bridge and take a swim - there are many bridges to choose from.

They voted for it. Enjoy sleeping in the bed you’ve made.
This will be a good opportunity for Kmart.
This is what happens when you welcome homeless and drug addicts into your state.

Sad to see such a decay of society. Behavior is a state of mind whether rich or poor.
