- Converting the FAB-1500 bomb into a glide bomb is exceptionally difficult due to its unconventional design, which originally lacked gliding capabilities. The differences between FAB and KAB bombs can occasionally become hazy because they both serve a similar function. The Su 34 can be tactical and strategic, complementing all strategic bombers, the original carriers of the Father of all bombs, thanks to the miniaturization and retrofit of the FOAB in newer generations of Soviet-era bombs.
Su-34 can be interceptor as well. But i foubt it can lift FOAB.

JDAM is a system for converting conventional bombs. It doesn't have one specific number attached to it.
There is 500 1000 2000 pound jdams. The Fab1500 is about 3300 pounds so larger than anything in US inventory

It was Hamas own rocket fired from a cemetery close to the hospital that misfired and hit the parking lot of the hospital. Then they tried to cover up their own fuck up by blaming it on the Israelis. The deathtoll in that one fuck up is calculated to be a few dozen people, certainly not 1400.

I know Ukraine doesn't have these type weapons but when possible Ukraine needs to fight fire with fire.
They received many JDAMS, so they have precision guided bombs. The issue is that they cannot be used effectively, due to inaccuracies that are caused by Russian EW. Russia is world leading when it comes to EW, according to US military analysts and think tanks, the Russians are ahead of the US in this regard. It's a major issue that needs to be addressed. I think it's better to give them more Himars rockets, those are more robust as I understand it. But in the end the war can only be resolved by conversation, compromise and diplomacy.

That won't work, if FAB-1500 glide distance is longer than range of patriot missiles. Airplanes have inherent safety benefit due to their high altitude and speed. I'll try to calculate and later post here an estimate of distance for a bomb released at 10km altitude at 300 m/s with 0 and 45 degrees angle without any gliding. It's awful, that russians are so good at weaponizing physics.

Allright, bomb released at 10km altitude with 300m/s speed will fall on the ground at 13 km distance. With mild glide ratio 1/4, glide distance of these FAB-1500 bombs could be about 50 km. If pilots are skilled enough to release them at upward angle of 45 degrees, then even 30% more. That's almost as much as range of patriot missiles.
Just for fun I'd add a small rocket motor to ignite a few seconds before hitting the target just to make sure it really slams home the kinetic energy ;o)
