On misaligned tees (and others tbh) I always line up the arrow on my ball to my target. It gives me great confidence at address. Takes away those little nagging doubts.
Man I've been snowed in here south of Austin, TX for about a week, mainly because we have no idea how to deal with severe winter weather. However, when I saw this video up this morning I knew it was going to be a good day. Favorite content on all of UA-cam here!! Thanks Playa!
Hey Texan, I hope you are safe and at least have power. A tip from the great north where snow has plagued us for nearly a month now. Snow, especially the crispy snow, is a good surrogate for hard Texan sand. So get out in the backyard or nearby park, take those orange balls out, and have fun in the snow white bunkers! Great way to stay sharp.
Guys I actually broke 80 today, shot my best score ever. A 79! Came back to comment on this video because my mind literally never thought I could before watching these videos. Matt has broken down a system for us average golfers to become fine playas. I now have seen through him that shooting near par isn’t a mystical unreachable feat During my round I didn’t lose one ball, and wasn’t worried about hitting a bad shot because I trusted my game to be able to recover. You don’t have to play perfect golf to shoot well, even had a double bogey on 13. Held it together tap in a bogey for 79 on 18. What a round! Thanks Matt.
man i love your mentality. I used to be a 2-3 handicapper back at the end of high school I stopped playing after that for about 5 years and just found myself getting back into golf and im starting to realize its really hard to get good again, your videos help a lot though!
Matt, at a time when fun is desperately needed in all of our lives, your videos and approach to golf has more than accomplished the goal of making golf fun again for me and I am sure many others!! Thanks for your hard work!! The WOTP really works!! Again, thanks and all the best in 2021!! My goal for 2021 is to break 90. :)
Your putting is looking awesome Mr Sidekick. Thought your putting video was good before, but seeing it in action confirms I need to save it to favourites ! Thanks for another great piece of content and fab shirt
Hi Matt, the introduction of the swing analysis by Eric is awesome. I add that if you can introduce more of this for different types of shots ie short game, bunker play and general irons and woods it would be fantastic cheers Steve in Australia
Good luck ! Looking forward to seeing you progress. Just started a swing change myself - 6 hcp working towards a 3 by the end of the year. This change has caused a difficult couple of weeks but committing and range time !
The back to the target longer feel literally transformed my game playa. I'm not a low single yet but that took me from hacksville to breaking 80 within just a few months. This is the feel Justin Rose uses as well.
@@GolfSidekick instead of feeling like you keep the back turned longer, feel as if you start your down swing with your arms/hands. It feels less powerful but it syncs things up (for me) and keeps me from swaying too much.
@@holmer9413 damn that's perfect weather, not looking forward to winter golf here in NZ, will get plenty of rain and be I'm the 40s or 50s, not too fresh on my Fahrenheit conversion, like 8-13°c
Great video. Lesson in the middle was interesting. Got to say, if you miss the fairways on the Thailand courses they seem to be very kind. Love your content Matt. If we can ever fly again, I’ll be keen to look at Thailand golf courses. Currently, play near Melbourne
Again, I appreciate the effort you make to allow us to be a part of your golfing world. FIrst off, may I say the soundtrack was especially exceptional today. The birdie music was thumpin' extra hard (I swear if I could get a recorded loop of that birdie music for an hour, treadmill workouts would be a breeze, baby!) I liked the the western themed music on 13th green was nice-giddyup! What would you call the 14th hole music? surf-rock? Anyway, nice job. Secondly-in the middle of the round I was thinking to myself" I wish Matt would show the front-on view of his swing, and voila!!! You read my mind, playa! I find the feedback from Eric very helpful-and yes, I know- to each their own swing, but I still found that section helpful, nonetheless) Lastly, trees in the way? Not a problem for you! You are a baus at getting the ball through, up, or around trees. Would you consider making a little more in depth videos on your draw/fade thought process? Just a thought for future vlogs. Sorry for the novel, anyway..your videos make me seriously consider retiring to SE Asia! Great weather, great playas, great caddies, great golf..I hope you realize you are living in heaven. Whadda playa, whadda life!
Funny, tees pointing to clubhouse. Got to get into fairway with draw. Player lines up exactly at the clubhouse and hits a perfect shot ... Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO). What a playa!
Good for you Playa. I learned something I was doing the same as you. I have been a little heavy with my irons. I have always transitioned more weight forward and squatted into it, it just worked for me. But seeing Eric point out to straighten your lead leg ever so slightly (the light bulb just went on) . If it makes you feel any better I chunked three or four around the greens the last couple rounds. I’m blaming it on the moon phase. whattagame whattalife thanks
One of the last rounds I played was in Arizona. It was very cold, rainy and windy. Decided if I'm going to be miserable in this weather, I might as well try to have fun. So I decided to play from the closest tees. There were 320-yard par 5's, 230-yard par 4's, 75-yard par 3's. It was an absolute blast. Highly recommend everyone to swallowing your pride once in awhile and move up to have some easy fun.
been watching your videos for a few months now. had to go take a lesson or two so I can properly implement the way of the Playa. miss the video with Michelle low or gen in those added nice content and they are nice to look at.
All mic'd up is really a nice feature to your content. Never had a caddy available to help with my round. I would like to try that some time. Caddy was great, keep them in the video's. How difficult is it to playa when your concentrating on your shot and speaking to us at the same time. Could you playa better if your were just concentrating on golf ?
Keep the videos coming, everyone including tour players have struggles. Perhaps having someone do the filming and allow you to focus on the round would help the focus.
not gonna happen. have to pay for followers which would be half a green fee, caddy fee and cart so will be another $50 minimum for the follower - no walkers allowed on the courses here
what kind of rangefinder is that and how much was it; my bushnell tour v3 stopped jolting so it just feels old and plus I'd like to have an interchangeable slope option
The caddy made the video! She’s been the funniest I’ve seen on the channel in years lol
yeah the caddy is awesome!
She's a keeper! 👍

Picked one club too much too often. And I knew it too...I had an extra look on both the shots, and I thought on that look..."this is too little loft"
