I don’t understand Guiness would try and make himself look like a bad guy even when he was actually very cordial in person. Like when he alleged he told a young boy to stop chasing banal fantasies when the boy said he’d seen Star Wars 20 times yet the boy as a man came foward and said he was nothing but pleasant and made jokes with the boy.
When Mark tells a story, you don’t feel like a person in the crowd listening to a celebrity. You feel like you’re visiting an old friend listening to him tell his stories on the couch

I love how Mark is remembering Alec super fondly as the kind English gentleman he very likely was, and I also remember Carrie Fisher saying on NPR that Alec Guinness on one occasion gave Mark 100 pounds to "go away" for a bit. What's even funnier is that, knowing Carrie, she would never say anything that Mark didn't want out there or that was defamatory (false), so it probably happened once and Mark let Carrie tell people about it.
