    Arthur Hoban....
    I was there from 1953 to 1956..
I can't say I have happy memories of that place. Perhaps it got better. Now living in Western Australia.

Can you share why you don't have any positive memories of Belcamp?

It was like a prison camp with bad food & sadistic Priests. Arthur.

Great school and great staff - served the local community so well, wonderful appreciation the locals repaid when you see the sorry state of the school now in 2020.

Was there myself till 93. Some great memories..
Only found this as I was up there tonight with the dogs and another pass pupil. Shame to see it in such a state.

Thanks for the memories . I was there from 1971 to 1976 , and as a boarder I have very mixed emotions about the school. But it is a shame to see a fabulous faciltiy run to ruin. Well done Gerry with the video too .

Was there 1981-86. Teachers I remember: Feran, Dempsey, Gleeson, Byrne, Corbet, McMahon, McDonnell, McVeigh, Haughey, Casey, McGuinness, Garvey, Logan. Had a ball going to school there.

Ms Bernardes and Ms O' Bric too, a beautiful woman who was taken far too early.

Nice Photos ..I was there on the very last day in June after last Leaving Cert examinations were completed. Future is not certain now as the recession bites and Belcamp COULD end up back in state ownership courtesy of NAMA. Belcamp Hall the old center building has seen many changes since the 1760's and the immediate challenge is to keep the building safe from the mindless vandals that are already smashing windows and kicking in doors, etc. Fire is a major threat. I was there from 1970 to 1975.

I was there 72.74.Louis Earls was my name.Had a brother Dermot also.I will never forget Archi the Spanish teacher. My favourate was Maxi,he loved the dogs.Barrot was a very evil man.Very cruel person .I remember driving to Belcamp in my first car was a great thrill parking beside the teachers.Would be great to make contact with some of my class mates again.

I am from New Zealand, but lived in Ireland for one year and went to this school in 1978 with my two Irish cousins. (I have since lost track of my family in Ireland.) They were Paul and Noel Compton. If you know them, please get them to contact me from here. I know it is a long-shot, but I really want to contact them.

Are c class was the dunces and trouble makers it took someone about 10 minutes
To read a book the 2 woman
    Teachers I think made life
Hell I think they taught iris and geograpy and English
We had Archibald for Spanish then a science teacher who was always drunk, the priest who did CD was nice but he. Had me kneeling at front of class as i was a trouble maker we we're lucky we did not have ned he hit about 50 people a day ,all the priests carried leeaters to hit the kids
The Cristian brother was a child molester and when you were sick you would go up there you tried not to go up there the boys were more cruel than the teachers I think it was because we came from broken homes
