- When we open our hearts to receive the Guru's wisdom, we are receiving the Guru's grace in that moment. That grace allows us to start seeing what is the truth and what is false. That wisdom then takes us to a place of yearning to want to experience that Truth and that yearning is what then positions us to receive Vaheguru Ji's (God's) grace. Only through the grace of the One can we experience and realise the One.

I catch myself acting in ego all the time. It's when I listen to some katha, gurbani or am in Sache Patshah's presence and meditate I self reflect deeply and even break into tears sometimes because I can't get out of this cycle. Thank you for this video ji.

You still need to earn the 5punch naam, then officially you can shout to the world that EGO ALREADY GONE, MIND PLATFORM ALREADY GONE...

We have to control the vices like Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment & Ego, not get controlled by them. We should not be acting driven by these vices but independent of these vices.
Sikhism’s message for a human being on how to live this life in addition to scientific angle , social, political, economic etc . "A human soul is a part of Lord God separated from Him since eternity gets human body after wandering through 8.4 million jonies. There are five vices in every human being namely : Lust , Anger , Greed , Attachment , Ego accompanied by four negative feelings namely : hope(it prevents present action),desire, jealousy , duality (feeling that the Creator Himself is not responsible for our well being but some other power ) needed to be overcomed by practising of five virtues namely Truth , Love , Humility, Contentment , Contemplation on Gurbani .Always remember God 24 hours a day & keep in mind his qualities each moment as described below Ik Oankaar - There is One Universal God ( for whole Humanity) , Satnaam - His Name is truth (He Does Exist ) , Karta Purakh - He is the Creator , Sustainer & Destroyer , Nirbhau - He is without Fear , Nirvair - He has no enemies , Akaal Moorat - He is beyond time ie. He does not grow old with time , Ajooni - He does not come in cycles of birth & death , Sahibhung - He is Self Existent ( Nobody has made Him ) , Gurparsaad ( He is achieved by the grace of True Guru / Word Guru (Sri Guru Granth Sahib). If we remember God & His qualities everyday , these qualities are bestowed upon us by God Himself ie. we get all His qualities & powers , we become Godlike i.e. a part of God Himself while living this life only not after death . Our soul merges back again with its source Lord God from whom it was orginally separated ie. we get liberated while living this human life only not after death."
Ego is not excessive pride..that is Ahankar. Ego is the concept of 'self'... Haumai
'A word of most frequent occurrence is haumai. It is perhaps derived from aham, 'I' or egoity, the essential element of ego; hankar, ahankar are its semantic cognates. The word man is employed in a double sense; sometimes it is clearly used in the sense of 'honour' or 'respect'. In most cases, however, it is synonymous with abhiman.
We need the costume of Ego..The Self..in order to function in this Drama.
Although it is permissible to identify haumai with ahankar, the fact that haumai is not included in the evil pentad and yet comes in for the strongest censure in the Scripture would lead to the conclusion that it is regarded as a major evil in addition to those forming the pentad. It may be added that haumai or egoity, self-centredness, the personality system, the belief in one's individual existence, is the basis of all the other evils. '
ਇਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਵਸਹਿ ਕਾਮ ਕਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ ॥
Is ḝėhī anḝar pancẖ cẖor vaseh kĝm kroḝẖ lobẖ moh ahaʼnkĝrĝ.
Within this body dwell the five thieves: sexual desire, anger, greed, emotional attachment and egotism.
ਅੰਮਰਿਤ ਲੂਟਹਿ ਮਨਮਖ ਨਹੀ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਸਣੈ ਪੂਕਾਰਾ ॥
Amriṯ lūteh manmukẖ nahī būjẖeh koė na suṇai pūkĝrĝ.
They plunder the Nectar, but the self-willed manmukh does not realize it; no one hears his complaint.
ਅੰਧਾ ਜਗਤ ਅੰਧ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਬਾਝ ਗਰੂ ਗਬਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
Anḝẖĝ jagaṯ anḝẖ varṯĝrĝ bĝjẖ gurū gubĝrĝ.॥2॥
The world is blind, and its dealings are blind as well; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness.॥2॥ - Guru Granth Sahib
