I just heard of his passing and it's honestly f-ing sad af. There band "to close to touch" had gotten me through some all time lows in my life I've been listing to there music daily for 5 years starting at the age of 16 I can't tell you how sad this is to hear.
I lost somone very close to me and I played Eiley Daily because it felt like it was my story and "nerve endings" was how I delt with my problems. Rest in peace brother

Lost one of my best friends in middle school. We both came from broken homes: divorced parents, mother was loving but being a single mom couldn’t give us the world, father was verbally and physically abusive and pushed us both to the brink of suicide. We both didn’t have the best childhood, constant bullying, always the one in the class with the best grades but never applied ourselves. It’s like we were the same person. After school we would go to a park and just sit and talk and be there for each other. He wasn’t able to have a phone so we would write notes and letters and put them in a box in a bush at this park. We always tried, we made a plan to graduate Highschool and go into the army together, get law degrees and hopefully gain some experience as cops and then open our own law practice to help those who can’t afford the $1000/hr attorneys but desperately need that assistance. We planned a whole future of trying to help others because nobody would help us. Then it came. I found the note the afternoon of March 17th, 2016. Nobody else knew of us since the last thing we wanted was our abusive parents knowing about us talking to each other, didn’t wanna be seen weird. On that day I found his letter talking about how he couldn’t take it anymore. His mom had passed of breast cancer a year prior and his father was an abusive alcoholic who never took care of them. Only being in middle school it fucked me up. He was a year younger than me but just as bright. We had such big plans and always had each other’s backs. I felt like my heart had been ripped out. I had to hide it because I felt that nobody would understand. Hung himself 3 days before his 13th birthday. As per his wishes I burned the remains of the little wooden box and all of our notes and tossed it in the canal. The last thing he ever said to be was fake care of yourself and don’t let your dreams be dreams. I should’ve known but my 14 year old mind didn’t get it. His last note was him telling me goodbye and that he’ll see me down the road in the next life, hopefully under better circumstances. This song and album hit close to home. Hopefully those of who’ve lost someone are doing well and I wish you all the best of wishes. I’ll keep trucking on, maybe one day open that law office.

My sister passed away a little over a year ago and the song Eiley reminds me constantly that I'm not the only one who's felt this pain. And as heart breaking as the song is, it's also comforting.

Haven't been myself will go down in my opinion as the best album ever made. Though it's very possible a small portion of people will ever see this album that way, I'll never forget how it made me feel.

The way he feels is like s mirror up image of how I am. I've been told that I'm not being myself and I noticed my self not being myself. My sister passed away 2 months ago and this song lets me release my anger and mourn for her at the same time

I lost one of my best friends in a car wreck a couple months ago and Eiley actually helps me cope. I relate to the lyrics big time. He was in a coma for almost a month after the wreck and 4 days after they took him off the ventilator, he passed away. So that song helps me because I know that I’m not the only one angry at losses like this and I’m not alone in feeling the way I feel about loss.

Not only did god choose Eiley, but he also chose him.... he died recently and this song was the first thing I thought of. When that song came out, the emotions were insane. Now hearing he died as well... idk what to say. RIP EILEY AND KEATON PIERCE. So sorry for the loss to the fans, but most importantly the family. Devastating loss. Neither of you were worthless to this world.

As an artist, if I write lyrics on growth through issues, I definitely want people to know that its to express on what was experienced. Sometimes people keep everything in without being able to express.. Shutting you into your sub conscious. Its ok to let it out. Honesty beats oblivion. Not to assume, but it sounds like the vocalist just is comfortable with his growth in life. Thats why he can talk so freely. Oddly introverted yet social (Sorta awkward as well lol). Definitely a musician lol. Anyways, thought your post thinking my brain.. Derp. So I replied XD
