    What a great, simple, easy to follow, short video. So much better than many of the other ones out there. Great work.

    Nice work! I recently tried my 1st attempt at a mold using Freeform Air for the mother mold as well, only wasn’t so lucky. Looks uniform color (mixed) but never fully cured. One more shot before resorting to fiberglass. 😖

    Looks good bro, the dent looks like the silicone jacket is sagging under gravity, might want to make it a little thicker if you ever make another one.

    What per portion of smooth cast silicone do you use per layer, and how many layers did you use? I’m trying to figure out how much silicone to order because I’m making this specific helmet your making a silicone mold for in this video. By the way, excellent video. I’ve had three traumatic brain injuries and you explained it perfectly. Thank you for this video and your answer back to me. 😁

    Here we go man! Looks sick! What filament do you use? (What brands and types and such) Also, that clone trooper helmet looks sick.

    How much rebound did you use to coat the entire helmet? Speaking of the small containers not the big gallons awesome work bte

    Was the dent in back caused by roato casting with the resin or was it the silicone mold that caused that?

    • @ericprint3576
      @ericprint3576  2 роки тому

      You see when I put the mothermold and mold together I didn't check that the mold was secured on properly causing the mold to drop inward which created that dent.

    Will rebound A and B the size you have in the video be enough to cover one helmet? Or do you need a few pots of it ordered?

      I used three of the small kits so that the mold would be more firm then flimsy. You could make a mold with two it just might not be as still when casting a helmet.

    Great tutorial. I have some questions: do you apply the ease release on all of the silicone before putting on the epoxy dough? Also, when you started casting did you brush on a first layer of the material before pouring it in? Also, how much do you pour in? Do you do in coats? My daughter and I are making some helmets for an experiment for her science class and this tutorial has been a godsend.

      Yes once the silicone mold is finished I give the mold a once over with ease release, I add the epoxy right away as for how many coats of epoxy I add until I don't see the mold or until I think the cast I'm making is durable on a helmet I always focus on the aerators or bottom half of the helmet.

    Looks amazing man, I'm just wondering how many you can make with that gallon set of smooth cast 300.

    • @ericprint3576
      @ericprint3576  3 роки тому

      about five to six depends on how much you use per helmet

      Don't know I still use my old phase 2 mold and that's made over 18 helmets I would say until your casts start to look worse or until the mold rips.
