I really hope SMITE will get a larger fanbase, I truly think this game is a breath of fresh air even tho it's been here for years, I'm gonna bring my friends to try it as well, hopefully SEA servers will be back with a bigger community.
Reason it's a relatively niche game is because of how awkward the camera is while attacking. It's very annoying getting used to how limited basic attacks are.
As someone who played smite from 2018-20 and hasn’t since, I’m excited for this. I hope it will bring a large amount of new players and popular streamers will give it recognition. I understand why long time players could be bummed about not having all their progress but at the same time I think you already got the value out of that investment and it’s about time that an overhaul is in place, hopefully the new game can revive the honeymoon phase of loving this game
Same. I've been out for a few years and am legitimately excited to see this game getting a huge upgrade. This will definitely bring me back in. And hopefully many more also
I've been playing Smite for about 8 years now and what I really celebrated at the beginning were the seasonal events, such as the Daji survival mode or the Loki's Dungeon or the Smite version of Mario Kart. I hope you take that into account in Smite 2 pulled. Because those were really cool highlights. I would like these events to come back in Smite 1 too!
I’ve been playing Smite for 10 years now. With the god pass and countless skins I have, I’m hoping there’s more of an initiative for me to jump over to Smite 2 outside of graphical updates that’s worth leaving 10 years behind.
I really really hope they reconsider legacy gems only giving a 50% discount. That's kinda pointless, I really hope they change them to just be regular gems, that announcement kinda took the wind out of my sails for this, I'm not nearly as excited as I want to be.
@@lelandwhitehead56 not really, if you had spend 30000 on smite 1 you will get 15000 back as legacy gems, lets say you buy the founder's pack, you get 30000 legacy gems instead. But to use those 30000 you have to buy 30000 of new currency to use those legacy. effectively locking your "reward" for playing smite 1 behind a paywall. thats just a bad way to do it. I'm not against Smite 2, (i will probably play it still) i think its good they upgrade. I just don't like how they do that "reward" thing.
I mean they need to make money, it takes a lot of development to redo the whole game into a sequel. Every skin needs to be remade completely. I actually think this is pretty generous tbh.
Ahhhhh! Good luck!!! Crossing my fingers this all works out. I’m so excited and so scared ahaha! Yall at hirez must be so nervous! It looks epic, let’s hope it goes as planned (or better) ❤️🙏
I am both excited and terrified. My favorite god has been Ullr since season 2! And i unlocked frostfire ullr back in season 4 and it is still to this day my favorite skin in the game. I would love to play an all new smite 2 Ullr, but without my frostfire skin that i worked all summer for back when i was only 16 just to save up for. I don't know if it will be the same.
I think it’s altogether likely that they’ll redo the fan favorite skins like Frostfire and maybe even redesign them a little better. Hopefully that clears up a little anxiety
@@rushingdrake608yeah but if they currently take 1/2 a year to make tier 5 how do you expect them to get all the tier 5s out with updated visuals before 2030. They may remake tier 5 ullr and many others but they will essentially have to remake it from scratch which takes time. Additionally that means no new tier 5s if they are so busy remaking old ones
I know they cant cross over every cosmetic skin to the next game, but they should atleast do the tier 5 skins atleast or have a cross over shop where the community picks one skin to crossover. Would be nice.
Only being able to use legacy gems for 1/2 of a purchase is completely discouraging and feels like a cheap way to get people to buy new gems in order to use their old ones
Why do I have to spend money or gain the smite 2’s currency in order to use my legacy gems? Legacy gems should be able to purchase items entirely. It’s like a toy with no batteries included. One hell of a cash grab :(
Wish HiRez a lot of success, looks like they are pouring a lot of love into this true sequel. But 2024 also has some steep competition of new titles. this game can still dominate and gain a huge player base.
This is giving me Overwatch 2 vibes. Basically re-releasing the same game again but we starting from scratch without our skins? Splitting the dwindling community in two as well, we aren't going to be able to find matches. This just seems like a really bad idea. Honestly, from what they've shown so far why is this not a graphics update/engine overhaul instead? Only reason I can think of is they want to sell you back your skins you already own.
That's probably it. The needed a reason to get more money out of the fans. I mean look at pokemon before example "It would be too much work to port the pokemon over, bc we gave them a million more polygons" and what was the end of the song? It was all a big lie. I think that's the case here too. Instead of just making Smite bigger with a huge update. HiRez wants to use new ways to get money out of you more effectively in Smite 2
The game is dead it needs a new start, maybe hype from Smite 2 will actually bring in enough numbers to prevent people queuing into the same bunch of players 5 times in a row.
@@chef416 Smite died because it has a MOBA community, not because of the core gameplay for the most part, i have my gripes about them releasing new characters in an OP state to collect data but the reason i stopped playing was burnout of the community being so toxic.
@@sergeantyoshi656 This is 100% accurate, its just greed, they are gonna re-charge you for the god pack, they are gonna re-charge you for skins and gems and then act benevolent about giving you 50% currency on your old gems (that you already paid for) for this "new game". The entire point of the 2 is so they can claim its a legally distinct game from the first, meaning they don't have to carry over anything if it doesn't net them money.
ive been playing since the beta and really am not going to want to leave the 2000$ worth of gems i spent behind so i hope the new system is worth it with the legacy gems
Yeah, it's a big letdown to hear that. If you've spent $2000 on gems in Smite 1, to make full use of your legacy gems you'll need to spend another $2000 in Smite 2. It's just a tactic to get people buying gems.
@@TheMartyandy If you think about it, it's really disgusting. First of all, it's so confusing in the video, I thought at the beginning that if you got the Founders Pack, you would get ALL the gems back. But I read a few comments (including yours) it looks like you only get 50% vouchers after you can then use them for skins. Without 90% of the people who spent money on Smite 1, Smite probably wouldn't even exist anymore, and so they thank us.
Love the energy by the team. The combat in SMITE has definitely being the most fun compared to other MOBAs. But there has always been something missing for a long term player investment. Not sure what it is.
I’m hoping that tp thing is changed to only one person and has a big cooldown cause I really don’t want to have to face off against 4-5 mana that full rotate between solo or dou, the tp is potentially the worst addition to smite as it only works when you have a team then when your solo or 2 maning
Hope they change their mind and give us our skins or at least all our gems back..... every other game that does engine upgrades gives us all our skins but not these greedy dogs they give you a 1 to 2 conversion rate and force you to rebuy everything
I do gotta say though. Im really hoping for a save/skin/progress translation into Smite 2. And i think all longtime players will agree with me that abandoning all of our unlockables and skins for a new engine isnt gonna be worth it. Especially after how much time and effort players have put into Smite 1
they announced you will get awarded legacy gems based on how much your account has spent in smite 1 they are worth/cover 50% of a normal purchase unless you buy the founder pass for smite 2 then they are full gems
i think u miss understood, they said that everything is 50% off until you spend all of your legacy gems. and that if u purchase any smite 2 pack they will double your legacy gems@@qaz12301
What has me SUPER divided is not getting all my skins from Smite 1 to Smite 2. Even though skins are just eye-candy, I personally go for stuff that I really love no matter how long it’ll take me. Hel’s Tier 5 skin, Shonen Spark Mercury, Kson Nemesis, Chibi Zeus, Geek Thoth, and so on, I spent a lot of time to get those. Having to acknowledge the fact that I won’t get these skins genuinely just tears apart my feelings towards Smite 2… I wish it didn’t. Really makes me emotional since I love Smite so much and I was so excited for Smite 2
@@kanalisationerstellen Nope. Every skin that has come out from the beginning of Smite all the way up until now, won’t be available in smite 2. They’re only going to port the tier 4 and tier 5 skins, and maybe a couple of specific skins but that’s it. Less than 10% of all skins. Maybe less than 5%. But they said from now on every NEW skin in Smite 1 will also be available in Smite 2. But only the new ones that come out that’s it
@@Tonikajones i’m pretty sure they said they’ll be porting the tier 4 and tier 5 skins since they’re going to let you pick from them depending on your progress in smite 1. But that’s only the tier 4-5 skins. The rest.. probably less than 5%-10% of them
same. like if it's just a full clean port over of everything i got i don't mind. but i have spent too much on the game in the past years to just be put back to square 0 and some of my skins i refuse to let go of
As long as you guys change your minds on the whole skin things, I'm in. Over my 7 years of playing, I've collected a lot of skins and a half off thing isn't gonna cut it for me
My tope guess is that it either won't be or that it would be far more expensive (not just adjusting for inflation). I started playing in late 2014 and bought the all-god pack in 2015. It was 30 dollars then, and I've definitely gotten my money's worth. Still, it was a different time of life when I played more games. I might pay the same amount for the new game, but it would really depend. If they want considerably more, then there's a near certainty that I wouldn't go for it.
Thats what the founders pack will be for is a god pack at launch of game, now if its gonna be available after the founders pack goes away is still up in the air
It 100% will not. This is a money grab attempt to try to get the last few bucks they can out of an IP that has been on life support for years. They arent even giving you back the full value of all the gems you spent over the years, unless you pay them MORE MONEY for a founders pack to unlock the full purchasing power of all the money you ALREADY GAVE THEM. You think they are going to do anything but nickle and dime you for everything they can before you realize you're being taken advantage of? Dream on.
As a visual artist when I play a video game I look at a lot of the visual and immersion in the game. I love the changes of the visuals which makes me really excited but the gameplay and currency changes concerns me a bit. Still excited to try everything out and experience it!
Yeah as someone who’s spent far too much on Smite over the last decade I’m worried. Are they basically saying your legacy gems count as a 50% coupon?(like a skin costs 800 gems, I spend 400 legacy AND have to buy 400 new gems?) it’s confusing to me
@@khaspianthat’s basically stealing in essence. It’s like you paid 10 dollars for a coupon that gives you 5 dollars off which you can only use once. If they want to keep most of those who actually funded the game via buying useless skins then they should do a 1:1 conversion.
[TLDR] Love the proposed actives and item building system, not 100% on the STR INT split, and I really hope that we get a great release both in terms of new/returning players and game state. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the itemization changes they talked about, obviously I haven't played with them yet, but the simplicity of the phys mag split (rather than reading every ability to decipher which parts scale off of str and which off of int) is something unique that I really love about Smite. Other than that I really hope that they don't skimp out on the promotion of Smite 2. If we're not getting a large influx of new/returning players to the game, splitting the playerbase could be disastrous, so ideally we get some RAID level promotion Edit: Just to be clear, it's not like there aren't certain things I'm really looking forwards to in regards to the propose itemization changes, the actives rework sounds like it should allow for some extremely fun items to be made (though I am curious to see whether that change will screw console players), and the new item combining system is objectively more interesting than what we currently have. It's just that of the 40 million player figure they like to throw around played Smite because it's Smite. Not necessarily because the game has the best balance, vfx, build variety, etc. but because it's Smite. I'm just worried that even if all these changes that end up being made in this transition to Smite 2 are perfectly executed and strictly better that we might lose what makes Smite Smite. That being said, take these ramblings of a clueless person on the internet with a grain of salt, I'd much rather see the franchise I've seen grow and struggle and overcome throughout the years go out with a bang rather than a whimper.
I do like the simplicity of SMITE, but there's only so many decent builds you can use for physical & magical gods before it starts to feel stale. This new change will be very tough to get used to, but I'm excited for new types of builds.
I'm with you there, but I am gonna try and hold off on judgment until we get our hands on it. I do like the idea of more build variety. Let's just hope, much like with a lot of what they have mentioned here, that their execution of these ideas will offer depth but not take too much away from the easy of learning that the game has championed.
Literally looks like League of Legends’ item system. Even the UI shown in early playtests is exactly like that. And League is extremely popular so I don’t see a problem with this change.
yeah, I'm with you on that. I got the same reflexion. Smite has always been for me the counterpart of League. It's 3rd person instead of top down, there is no bushes that magically make you invisible, the items system is divergent instead of convergent, Gods are clearly separated as magical or physical. To be fair, the only reason why I don't enjoy league is because of the top down controls, but I also feel those changes remove things that made Smite unique. On the other hand, this str/int system with convergent items isn't bad and probably better for a more complexe competitive gameplay. I was there for Smite's beta and I hope I'll be selected for Smite 2's alpha. Also I feel like they took notes of how bad Blizzard made the transition from Overwatch to Overwatch 2 XD seeing how they took the time to explain why they can't transfer every content and how they still reward players with something so it's not entirely lost. This and keeping Smite live after Smite 2 release.
I want to like this... But i just get a real bad feeling about it and really has me super hesitant to continue spending money. I have too many skins that I have collected since Xbox release that mean a bunch to me and keep me coming back. Really loosing everything and restarting is not something i am interested in. The fact that the gems we get only cover 50% of the future purchases, give me bad feeling too for some funky monitization. I get that they want to make money, but i want my skins I bought. So at an impass there. Fortnite moved skins across generations if unreal, i am sure Smite could have figured out how to make it work.
I also think that they are quite capable of transferring many of the skins, especially I can imagine that newly released skins are much easier to port than very old ones. But that means the stated 200 years, which are far too exaggerated, are simply there to gaslight us so that we are willing to spend money to buy these stupid Founders Packs. If we break it down, the last 2-4 years of skins could probably be transferred within 1-2 years, if not faster (thanks to technologie advantages in Unreal/AI and so forth) More work would have to be put into all older skins, but I think effectively you could have all the skins from Smite 1 in Smite 2 within 5-7 years. Above all, the value of the skins is not lost, since with Smite 2 you are trying to attract new players who then have to buy the skin as normal. But this way you could make the long-term fans happy, and above all you wouldn't feel so exploited that you now have to buy a Founders Pack to get your 100% back.
i've said it in a few comments now but porting from unreal 3 to unreal 5 is actually quite simple and the only efforts that would remain after porting would be to add weapon trails adjust jump animations and of course any new animations like ymirs rocket jump would need to be accounted for everything beyond that like fidelity arent required and with all the different art styles in smite i wouldn't be upset if all our old skins were added as retro quality skins. they could even add the old gods under these conditions with the promise of a new default skin to come.@@sergeantyoshi656
True, its just not feasible that this will help in anyway, the people who spent a lot of time farming their favorite things and not having most of the roster will mean only the Hi-Rez shills and new players may come to Smite 2, imo
8:08 "All gods will be able to build all items." This seems like there will need to be tons of oddly programmed exceptions. Things like auto-attack effects not working on Jorm, but more across the board. Like hastened katana on hunters (they might even change the name back to hastened fatalis). Golden blade on hunters could be rough as well, might bring back the feared golden bow meta. 8:20 Chaac healing more scaling off of intelligence is interesting. They eliminated healing scaling fairly recently. Predicting it now, they'll have hybrid items come back too as a "new" feature. I am nervous about matchmaking for Smite 1 at whatever point the sequel goes live.
@stevenphan5128 and then some will just never work in the new system. Charon will never work in this system. He'll just enf up being a burst mage with far below.average damage. What made Charon interesting was that his abilities AND his basics scaled off of power. Now it's going to be an either or. And there will be no way for that to work.
@@Ninkavbed Beat me to it by 16 minutes. Crit Ymir like back in the beta of smite. Can't wait to see what horrors he can unleash with all the new items
I hope there will be more to do for people who either don't have any money or don't want to spend, always felt boring with nothing to work towards, i hope in this sequel there will maybe be more types of mastery skins or maybe dedicating time to a character will let you unlock stuff centered around that character like avatars of announcer packs based on that character.

I was in the closed beta for Smite, and attended the launch tournament party in Atlanta. What a fun time it was. So excited to see a new version of smite!
I am a veteran player, I have spent a large amount of money whose sum is the value of a better PC than the one I have or a PS5, I have dedicated myself so much to mastering all the gods in diamond, even the whale and I hope there will be a special reward for all of us who have achieved such a feat.
Legacy Gems is... certainly a system. I understand you couldn't port everything over but why stop at 50% of something? Why not let us buy the full thing? For a system marketed as "a reward for long time players for their loyalty" it just seems a little bit scummy.
I mean at least there compensating for it. But it’s also a free to play game so I’m sure some profit has to be made somewhere, you can’t make a game with development like this and not require some money. But it does show concern of what that 50% will be, hopefully it’s good stuff and not some badges and maybe a few meh skins.
@@captainvibecheck4134 Spoiler alert, but coupons aren't actually compensation for anything. If you _have_ to spend to get the value out of it, you're not saving anything; you're just spending. Let's say you have 400 legacy gems, and you want to buy a skin that costs 400. That means you'll have to buy 200 gems with real money, and spend 200 of your legacy. You're now left with 200 and are faced with a choice - waste your legacy gems, make them worthless by not buying anything else, or buy 200 more gems so that you can get another 400 gem skin. Effectively, to be "compensated" for having bought 400 gems in Smite 1, you have to buy 400 gems in Smite 2. Tldr, it's not real compensation.
I get the point of legacy gems, but 50% off feels a little dishonest. I hope some skins become available with just legacy gems, like a sale or something.
Incon confirmed the 50% goes to 100% when you buy the Founders pass. The founders pass has 3 tiers and even if you get the lowest 1 the 50% will jump to 100% And of course it also will allow you to unlock all the Gods and future ones that come out
Not transferring skins over is such a bad move lol, especially crossover skins. Idgaf about gems, there were some really tough skins I grinded out in past events/battle passes and they're gone because its "too hard and long" to port over? give me a break 😂
We get it you have 0 clue how game development or companies work. To long and hard to port over is a real issue. That would decimate the rate we get new content so a handful of people can use 1 skin they bought 9 years ago. It sucks but lets not act like they have a choice. give me a break 😂
really loved all my skins getting left behind..... and that sick conversion rate for legacy gems cant wait for 50% discounts on skins i bought 11 years ago
I’m also hoping this but I don’t think it’ll be so easy, crossover skins like that are weird with licensing, they were all licensed for Smite. To add them to Smite 2 will require additional licensing and paperwork and all that, it’s not as easy as HiRez just redesigning the skins to make them match Smite 2s aesthetics and graphics. I’m going to be particularly sore about my RWBY and Avatar skins. I love my Azula Pele and Cinder Morgan Le Fey, it’s those skins that got me into those characters in the first place…
@@calebowens693 Correct me if I'm wrong(haven't played since like 2018). I remember them having a system that didn't allow item slows to stack bc which ever had the highest slow negated the other. Did that change?

All I really need is if every god is still in there and playable and will continue to be automatically unlocked with the ultimate god pack. I’d happily buy a new one, but I don’t want to jump into 2 and like only 15-20 of them be available. Skins I can get over
I think it'd be fine if the people who purchased the Ultimate God Pack kept all Smite 1 gods, but everyone had to purchase the gods released in Smite 2. They've mentioned plenty of times that they think the Ultimate God Pack was a mistake that basically just led to them bleeding resources whenever they made a new god, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like that.
I second this. Please don't make me unlock them one by one or do a seasonal purchasing for all the characters, Ultimate God Pack was the best deal, I don't mind purchasing it again.
Best deal for you, but it is bad for bussiness because it is once pay time. it should be every season purchase combo with battlepass or make it like gamepass with lower price@@ArtMythstic13

You get the legacy gems (every gem you’ve ever spent) but in order to spend them, you have to buy things using 50% brand new gems you buy in smite 2. Congrats, in order to spend the thousands in gems you already paid for, you have to pay them another half of what you already paid them I know they have to pay for the new product, but this seems sleazy. Just charge for the actual events while letting us use 100% legacy gems for vp and general non-event skins and cosmetics (aka chests and rotating store skins/packs)
Yea. Youre spending more money at half price for new skins for every gem youve spent over 11 years. Key point... You have to spend MORE money to even use legacy gems. When in reality, it should just be a 100% off until the gems are gone. This should be ringing your alarm bell@@doctorderbz
I don't mind the fact that the game won't start with all the skins, and we will be recompensed the gems for the gems we did spend on the game. But what I do want to know is if those who have "All God Pack" Will have it transfer for Smite 2 or will we be compensated for it too. Please answer as soon as possible Smite Dev Team. This is the real, let's call it "Game Changer" which will probably defy for some people if the game will be worth investing time into the new gen version.
So many questions still. Like in the character select of Smite 2, looked like there's only 10 gods available? Maybe that's just to hid the remaining amount, i hope so haha. The strength and intelligence name change is weird but whatever. What's even weirder is gonna be the strength based gods needing intelligence items to use certain skills, and vice versa. I don't really see that being a great thing and probably just ignored for the pure str/int building. Visually looks great and i hope with the engine upgrade there'll be no more spaghetti coding as well. Mentioning of jumping being actually useful is neat i hope that'll be the case. A bit sad about the skins and also dunno about the whole 2 months to make 1 skin. That feels a bit misleading and false. Legacy gems as well, it's cool to do but also why only 50%. Unless gems are gonna be a lot more earnable in Smite 2.
True they can just use A.I. or something to remake everything ... Why are developers claiming A.I. as possible tools in the future and yet we have modern day problems like this where they claim development would take hundreds of years to complete
@@GunShark0 That's exactly the thing. The 200 years are way too high when you could probably deduct 100 from it just for recolors. But as you already wrote, this is all just there to guestlight the fanbase so that people feel sorry for HiRez. So you then spend money on the Founders Pack. It's really not nice when you see how HiRez treats its fans for years. 90% of the people who spent money on Smite 1 kept the game alive. And that's the thanks for that.
The new game looks great but the legacy gems are kinda frustrating. Its nice to not waste all of the purchases we've made, but even if they decide to port/recreate a Smite 1 skin in Smite 2 that we already had unlocked we have to spend even more $$$ to unlock it again even with the 50% off??? Also kind of unfortunate that its looking like we will get Smite 2 before PlayStation is included in cross progression :( Curious how my "Legacy Gems" and "Divine Legacy" will be calculated when I have both an Xbox and a PlayStation account with lots of skins, progress, and masteries
@@KrisPlaysNieto Funny thing. They don't have to update/redesign skins. They just have to port them over. Sure they won't look pretty, but who cares. That's money people put into the god damn game.
I do hope T5 skins will fully transfer over. I'm not paying 50% off for those since I got them during the odyssey events and "buying" the T5 means I actually got 8-9 skins "along the way"
Smite runs on Unreal Engine 3 which was released in 2007 and a lot has changed since it. They're porting it to Unreal 5 and rewriting the whole game to be more structured and better overall. It's very techinical
yeah that’s great but y’all need to work on how you ban accounts. My account is banned and I have not a single person out in recovering it. Never was toxic, never was anything bad but my account is banned.
I hope we’ll see some substantial enough character changes to mix things up. Thor should be made a warrior again. Ares should be a warrior. Things like that. We need to see some notable character changes, keeping their identity but taking the opportunity to refresh them.
I mean they didn’t touch on the new role system. Like Ymir’s changes? he looks like he could be more of a solo laner/warrior. And due to the new stats there might not be glorified categories like that. It could just be “Solo lane viable” and/or “Mid lane viable”.
I can't get behind the Neith redesign. She looks more generic with those robes. Also, using "mythologically appropriate" is not accurate since most Smite characters don't look like their mythological counterparts in the first place, there's no reason to sacrifice Neith's unique look for a "mythologically appropriate" one
I’m looking forward to the sequel but still feel nervous about the thousands I’ve spent in smite 1 (atp) feeling meaningless. I’m not sure how to feel. 2 is looking great so far, but imho some of the models still need work. Effects look fantastic though!

I really like this Idea, I been a Smite player for a couple of years and i always felt the thing it needed most was a visual update because it was lacking behind other MOBA'S. But brother, The Legacy system is a complete disapointement. Having all my grind and purchases like the god pack , the battle passes that we grinded for , being made into discounts its just not a good idea in my opinion. They probably won't. It's just to make sure people are more likely to buy gems on release so the legacy gems don't go to waste.

@@rushingdrake608yeah but if they currently take 1/2 a year to make tier 5 how do you expect them to get all the tier 5s out with updated visuals before 2030. Only being able to use legacy gems for 1/2 of a purchase is completely discouraging and feels like a cheap way to get people to buy new gems in order to use their old ones
Smite 2 seems like a new money grab maybe
Why do I have to spend money or gain the smite 2’s currency in order to use my legacy gems? Legacy gems should be able to purchase items entirely. It’s like a toy with no batteries included. One hell of a cash grab :(
Wish HiRez a lot of success, looks like they are pouring a lot of love into this true sequel. But 2024 also has some steep competition of new titles. this game can still dominate and gain a huge player base.
Not a true sequel just a face lift.

I doubt it
Thats what the founders pack will be for is a god pack at launch of game, now if its gonna be available after the founders pack goes away is still up in the air
Yeah as someone who’s spent far too much on Smite over the last decade I’m worried. Are they basically saying your legacy gems count as a 50% coupon?(like a skin costs 800 gems, I spend 400 legacy AND have to buy 400 new gems?) it’s confusing to me

If we're not getting a large influx of new/returning players to the game, splitting the playerbase could be disastrous, so ideally we get some RAID level promotion
Edit:
Just to be clear, it's not like there aren't certain things I'm really looking forwards to in regards to the propose itemization changes, the actives rework sounds like it should allow for some extremely fun items to be made (though I am curious to see whether that change will screw console players), and the new item combining system is objectively more interesting than what we currently have.
Trust me this is MUCH better. The active items add more depth and skill and getting rid of the phys mag split will allow for actual build diversity.

I'm very excited for this but I have a big concern about performance. Many people don't play on a higher end pc and I feel like this is going to push a lot of players out. I also have a big concern with the power changes, it seems like an absolute balance nightmare. It's part of why I liked smite over league. I also haaaate how stuff is being transferred over and I'm scared about how this going to split the player base. The game already has player base problems, now you're making two games?
UE5 can be very performant/efficient if they have the sauce. It's all in their hands.

Excited and nervous I hope you guys take all the time you need to develop it!
This looks like a remaster instead of a new game. It actually looks virtually the same 😂
I'm loving this so much. Been hoping for an announcement.
will my god pack transfer??
Watch the stream!
Looks great!! Stopped playing around 2021 but definitely want to come back for this!
@@captainvibecheck4134 How is a coupon to spend more money compensation?
The founders pass has 3 tiers and even if you get the lowest 1 the 50% will jump to 100%
And of course it also will allow you to unlock all the Gods and future ones that come out
Bring back Hercules adventures, or something similar!
The RPG game mode(s) was really fun.
Let's not act like porting over skins takes more time than entirely making them from scratch@@mastersparkles1584
really loved all my skins getting left behind..... and that sick conversion rate for legacy gems cant wait for 50% discounts on skins i bought 11 years ago
Why would i want to be forced into using beads if im a tank with good CC resistance
I’m hoping crossover skins like the avatar ones will make it to smite 2
RuneScape skins too plz!

You get the legacy gems
Watch the video lol they literally addressed that smart one
You get the legacy gems (every gem you’ve ever spent) but in order to spend them, you have to buy things using 50% brand new gems you buy in smite 2.
Congrats, in order to spend the thousands in gems you already paid for, you have to pay them another half of what you already paid them
I know they have to pay for the new product, but this seems sleazy.
You get 100% of your gems back if you get the founders pack.
I don't mind the fact that the game won't start with all the skins, and we will be recompensed the gems for the gems we did spend on the game.
@@tsohgallik it's called gaslighting
@@GunShark0 That's exactly the thing. The 200 years are way too high when you could probably deduct 100 from it just for recolors.
But as you already wrote, this is all just there to guestlight the fanbase so that people feel sorry for HiRez. So you then spend money on the Founders Pack.
It's really not nice when you see how HiRez treats its fans for years. 90% of the people who spent money on Smite 1 kept the game alive. And that's the thanks for that.

@@schweizer3301 you are right however they will be giving us legacy points to use for unlocking Gods and skins
Also kind of unfortunate that its looking like we will get Smite 2 before PlayStation is included in cross progression :(
Curious how my "Legacy Gems" and "Divine Legacy" will be calculated when I have both an Xbox and a PlayStation account with lots of skins, progress, and masteries
It's cool, my 1300 skins can just fall into a void I guess.

I wish they would add more celtic gods in smite 2. Really want Lugh and Arawn
The Celtic pantheon is surprisingly popular. I'm sure you don't have to worry about that. XD
I hope we’ll see some substantial enough character changes to mix things up. Thor should be made a warrior again. Ares should be a warrior. Things like that. We need to see some notable character changes, keeping their identity but taking the opportunity to refresh them.
the new itemization should probably do all that without change anything at the core
I mean they didn’t touch on the new role system. Like Ymir’s changes? he looks like he could be more of a solo laner/warrior.
And due to the new stats there might not be glorified categories like that. It could just be “Solo lane viable” and/or “Mid lane viable”.
There is no need to do that because there is no longer a difference between physical and magical items! Also Ares is perfect as a guardian lmao
this looks kinda sick ngl
I can't get behind the Neith redesign. She looks more generic with those robes. Also, using "mythologically appropriate" is not accurate since most Smite characters don't look like their mythological counterparts in the first place, there's no reason to sacrifice Neith's unique look for a "mythologically appropriate" one
