Nice video. I test-drove the Iconic yesterday and it was very nice. I had already ordered the basic Techno model subject to a satisfactory test-drive, so I will be proceeding with the order, however they have no idea when the car will be ready for collection. I am un-educationally guessing perhaps September or October. Funnily, the one thing I didn't like about the car is the wheels, but taste is obviously a personal thing. The car itself is very handsome. I will definitely be subscribing so I will look forward to your detailed review of the settings and infotainment screen. Well done, Doc!
The Techno is the best choice, funny that it is the higher mileage only by about 5 or so, yes you won't get that in normal driving. I'm ordering next week & see what they will do date wise.
Thanks for the comment. Usually to build a car from factory the average time can be 3 months but depending on manufacturer issues it can be delayed by 6 months on average. Hopefully you get lucky and it is built sooner rather than later. Please let me know your thoughts on the next video which I aim to finish editing for next week Friday. On the wheels, the long white & grey bits that top & tail the alloys, they just come off to reveal the whole alloy design. They are put on to make the car more streamlined as the handles are too for that reason, it adds a bit more mileage but not greatly. I suppose you knew this, I didn't & this review told me about it. No other has mentioned it.

@@DrSaahbhi again! Now vehicle security. How good is the locking system. It says Thatcham approved. Thatcham are the top place in car security, but what is the security locking now preventing. No more hacking etc. I for 20 yes used the Thatcham approved complete wheel lock that encases the wheel. They can't get it off easily but would need a grinder & about 1hr. So I need a square one now, when I get the car. Could you do a bit on the 3 pin plug home charging cable extension. You need to make sure it's a approved one ie not Temu! I need to understand the AC & DC charging. Can you muck things up & damage the car mixing plugs etc or is it fool proof? Or ME proof! Cheers. I lived in Worcester for 15yrs, no Brummy accents there. Cheers.
Steering lock is definitely useful but not fool proof. I would definitely recommend keeping both keys in a special box which I think is called a Faraday box. You could also keep the keys in a Faraday key cover to prevent the signal from the key being used but thieves to open and start the car.
I do need to do more learning when it comes to charging so can’t advise much. From my basic knowledge it will be beneficial to have a wall charger rather than using 3 pin socket. The wall charger will charge the car in probably 10 hours from flat to full. A 3 pin charger will probably take more than a week or so to charge from flat to full.

I had a drive in one today & the acceleration is unreal. At 30mph I accelerated & joined mway & in 2 secs I was at 50mph! There's no gearing & its like holding a toy car & whooosh away you go. It was the Alpine vers, but I'm getting the Techno. The electric seat htg is a bonus & really eases your backache on a long journey.
Could you tell me please how responsive the auto wipers are in light rain. I drive a Scenic MK3 & the auto wipers are terrible. The screen full of rain does nowt. On long journeys I'm flicking it manually. I'd rather have the manual setting one, you're in control. Next, is the rear view camera (not the mirror) a full view of whats behind you travelling or is it just a low parking view.
There's hordes of switches in there & the regen thing as well I need explaining so I will watch. I'm 71 so make it simple, also that big screen needs explaining. How do you use apps on it & you need wifi data? Thanks.

On that central consul, which is on my 2014 Scenic, same one! There is a small tray under the cushion, then next is the deep pocket. The whole consul slides right back into the back area, too reveal the tray just fiddle that button a bit & the cushion lifts & you get a nice tray for coins & whatever. You've probably found it by now. My MK3 is Auto & you have a selection big knob in central part in front of consul. I'd rather the PRND was there, and the knob is nice to hold and select (yes I know..😊), the stalk thing is fiddly really, as it's a major thing. Still I'll get used to it. Renault dont think everything thru at some things. I wish the interior was light grey coloured as my MK3 & not dark. I wish they had given you a choice. Light colour makes it spacious feel. Still I will get used to it & my dandruff will..😱.

@@DrSaahbinterior I wish it was a lighter colour like a bright grey. If the seats are bright colour like this on the Techno, but I fear they will be black too. I didn't realise the handles pop out. On the reviews on YT in Spain they were doing handles manually, press small square then put finger behind the handle... They all didn't know about that. Yup the blue is nice, so it's that or grey. Not red.
Are you living in Spain then? It could be that Spanish models of the car have different parts to the UK cars? Sometimes manufacturers make slight adjustments depending on different markets.

I presume you've just bought this?! The sunscreen I think tho funky, will show the bird poo & every day or two youll have too wash it. Proper roof is best in the long run. I'd like the red colour but at end of day is silver grey shades hide a multitude of sins & it does & you dont stand out too envious nasty types.
Thanks for the comment. I wish I owned this car but it was a courtesy car at Renault Wolverhampton. If you park near trees then bird poo is definitely an issue. For some reason today my car has had loads of bird poo and I don’t live near trees. Usually the car doesn’t have any bird poo.
I definitely agree, silver is the most forgiving colour to have.
@@DrSaahblooking at the blue with black roof it looks great. Gives it a BMW look. I might now consider that colour over the grey. White looks great but easily shows dirt. Tks for getting back to all my emails!
