    Running the WAVE on Delta battery is way more efficient than using the Anker bank. EcoFlow's battery can run the WAVE2 in DC mode. Anker would have to convert the power DC to AC to run WAVE2

    Very good review. You’re correct, no getting around the physics of power usage relative to heating / cooling an uninsulated space. Probably not a bad unit, but one needs to be realistic in their expectations.

    I love this company, the products are made to interface. So yes this unit will run on it's battery for awhile but in reality, I use my solar generator (Max 2000) in conjunction. And yes it's expensive, but that's the sacrifice of having this lifestyle. You can't take it with you.

  • @worldcomicsreview354

    I'm using it in my tiny Japanese flat, it's not much worse at cooling the main room (and a half) than the built-in air conditioner, but draws about half the power even on full blast. It should be good for heating in winter too. The built-in air conditioner is on the ceiling, so the heat just stays up there. I don't have the battery yet, but I'll get it, and probably a couple of solar panels purely to charge it while I'm out, so I can come back to "free" AC. After the obscene initial lay-out, anyway.
    (How long to "pay for itself"? First time I have AC during an August typhoon blackout, that's when it's paid for itself!)

    Great straight out review. It looks like a very good set up for a van , small travel trailer . A tent looses hot and cold to fast like you said. It was important you put it
    to the tent test for your viewers . I know i was interested on how it would do. Seems like a nice set up for just taking a nap in a van or rv and run the air for a couple
    hours. other wise , sit outside in the shade and spray water on yourself.

    • @JerryArizona
      @JerryArizona  Рік тому +1

      I was definitely hoping it would condition the tent, but that just wasn't the case. Oh well. Invest in a better sleeping bag for that. Does work great for the 4Runner and similar set ups though.

    It's not to exhaust ports. It's a closed loop with an intake and exhaust. There's also an intake and exhaust for the conditioned air. Two separate independent closed loops. Picture window air conditioner Loop there is an intake which blows air across the radiator so it can scavenge cool out of the outside air and then it blows the air back out, it never gets in your house. There is never intermingling of the exterior and interior air. This unit acts the same.

    • @JerryArizona
      @JerryArizona  9 місяців тому +2

      I've always called the outer loop intake and exhaust and the interior one supply and return. Or something like that. I always seem to mix up the words. But you're correct. It's a closed loop system and air isn't moved across from one to the other.

    • @kscotterable
      @kscotterable 3 місяці тому +1

      Right, with the closed loop on both ends it’s 18 degrees offset from whatever the air temp is inside, as air temp inside rises in heat mode or cools in cool mode the unit’s output temp rises or falls accordingly (at least that is what’s claimed).

    Waste of money if you asked me I bought it for the Heater side I live in Michigan and it’s real cold. I wanted it for the hunting blind fishing blind cabin truck little did I know if it’s colder than 40° outside it doesn’t work.🙃 so much for heating things up when you’re cold

    Good review. Nothing magic about the unit but can work well in certain circumstances. That should be all that anyone could expect. We might want more, but current technology doesn’t allow for more. Fair enough.

    After watching this video, there are a few points about Wave2 that caught my attention: The accompanying battery cannot be charged separately; it must be connected to the air conditioner to charge. This is particularly troublesome and unreasonable. When I deplete the battery of the air conditioner outdoors and want to charge it, I have to carry the entire air conditioning unit with me. Keep in mind that this adds up to a weight of 50 pounds. Wow, 50 pounds! What does that have to do with portability? For me, portability is a crucial factor to consider, and I might choose Zero Breeze instead. Their product weighs less than 30 pounds, which is half the weight of Wave2, and can be easily lifted with one hand.

    I happen to own both the Zero Breeze Mark2 and Wave1 models, and after watching the video, I firmly believe that the Mark2 remains the superior choice for my outdoor activities. The Wave2, unfortunately, has limited compatibility as it can only be powered by Ecoflow's proprietary battery and power storage system. This restriction means I cannot utilize my power storage and battery systems from other brands, which is quite frustrating. Moreover, the connection cable between the air conditioner and the battery is excessively bulky and prone to being misplaced. Unlike the ZB Mark2, it cannot be conveniently placed between the front seats.
    Furthermore, I am well aware of the quality concerns associated with the Wave1, such as fan axle breakage and display malfunctions. These issues have been a cause for worry among users, and it's difficult to anticipate when such problems might arise. Unfortunately, Ecoflow has not communicated any information regarding improvements or measures taken to address these issues with the Wave2 during this period, leaving me uncertain about the extent to which these problems have been resolved.

    Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the back an intake vent ? Therefore we would only need to vent out the hot air ? Unless it’s a vehicle then you would want to prevent negative pressure then you would want to use the intake vent

      That’s what I’ve seen… if you’re in a RV, car, house etc, dont need to use the air intake. Some actually said it’s more efficient if you do not since it’s pulling the already cooled air from inside. Sound correct??? Thank you for a great review!

    • @Runtex22
      @Runtex22 Рік тому +1

      That’s what I’ve seen to from other reviews. Curious as to why you need negative pressure in your vehicle though…

    Can you use this without that battery base? the base is a must have unit or just a bigger battery pack?

    • @JerryArizona
      @JerryArizona  Рік тому

      You can't use it without some type of power source. But you do not need to use the Eco Flow battery base. You can plug it into AC using the cord that comes with the unit and plug that into a compatible battery bank or wall outlet.

      I used mine all summer inside my little house, in my bedroom, without the battery. Although I do have an Ecoflow solar generator that I could use with it if I needed to. Now that it's cold, I'm going to use it as a heater.

    How do you think this unit will do in a Class C or A motorhome?

    • @JerryArizona
      @JerryArizona  10 місяців тому

      Not really that familiar with motorhomes, but I feel like any space much larger than a 4Runner or small room and it's gonna struggle to get significant temperature differences.

    Can i connect the unit to existing rv 12v Batterie?

    • @worldcomicsreview354
      @worldcomicsreview354 Рік тому

      You need it's own battery first. As it has a powerful compressor it needs both "starter motor" current and "can be run right down slowly" current, not a lot of batteries that can do both. Connecting it to another battery / solar simply adds more charge to the battery pack. It's also supposed to be more efficient running in pure DC mode.

    • @highcheker
      @highcheker Рік тому

      @worldcomicsreview354 thanks for reply sir.
      But I'm still not sure that I understand it right.
      I thought the optional original battery has a build in inverter for feeding the device with ac.
      But now your saying, it's possible and more efficient to run it directly with DC.
      For my understanding this would mean its possible to run it with 12V RV Batterie as long you take care for a proper rv Batterie what can supply the needed energy.
      It would be great to make a video only for this supplying details.
      Greetings from Germany

    With a weight of nearly 50lbs when connected to the battery, Wave2 is not portable at all for outdoor use. Therefore, I don't consider it a truly portable air conditioner. Seeing in the video that the battery cannot be charged separately adds to its bulkiness. Clearly, Wave2 is not the best choice for an outdoor air conditioner. Why would someone spend almost $2000 on an air conditioner that cannot be conveniently used on the go?
    Regarding Wave2, I am aware of issues like inadequate cooling and water leakage. Wave2 is a very expensive product, and I often see people sharing and asking about these problems. I'm not sure if Ecoflow has truly resolved these issues, but if they haven't, it would make me feel that the money spent on it is not worth it at all.
