There is a setting in the Delta 2 to enable higher power. It current limited because of it dual use for Car and Solar. So to not overload the car charging input, you need to change the settings in the app to allow faster solar charging. I never plugged a solar panel on them though, so I have no idea.
@@uzhacuzhacny1083 You got to be careful with X-Boost ! It will lower the voltage to maintain a high amperage (So keeping up with the resistance). So this might be OK for certain type of load, but for some load it might destroy your equipment.
I wanted to cover bluetti vs EcoFlow more, but the amount of complaints I'm getting from that company is wild. Even distributors say that they cannot contact them. They don't answer their phones. If you have any type of warranty claim or dead on arrival unit, you will be out for months. I actually figured people stop buying them given the complaints. But I had a lot of people in the comments section below ask how they compare. I mean I could review them if you guys want me to. I'll just go on and on about the complaints though. I might be a little bit annoying 😂😂
I'd love a Bluetti vs Ecoflow as I've eyed both for a year, for future minivan or cargo van living. Both companies have made something just about in the range I'm seeking; so far favored Bluetti a bit more...so would love some discussion/banter...could be helpful or save a mistake!
A comparison video between the AC180 and Delta2 would be really helpful for me. I'm leaning toward getting an AC180, but more information is always better!
I think growatt infinity 1300 is much better contender to ecoflow. Better company, high capacity and it has a wireless charger. It was $850 on amazon prime day.
I bought the Delta 2 Max (2048WH) and they included a 160W portable panel - all for $1519. including tax and shipping. We used it in our truck camper for two weeks straight and it worked great as we went boondocking in the Tetons and Yellowstone. We kept our RV fridge running on it, plus the wife's hairdryer and a toaster. We charged it with a combination of 200W panel on the roof and a DC/DC charger from the truck. Love their products!
@@stevegee9562 I used the Victron 12 - 12 DC-DC charger. I learned on that trip that the solar input was limited to 8A because it thought it was the car 12V charger. I have since tried different things including a cheap 12V to 24V upconverter (Amazon) - which worked to give me 192W - but I wanted to get more out of the 30A output of the DC/DC charger. I also added a 100AH lithium battery that I had leftover from a previous project and have the DC/DC in charge mode for that now. I then found out about the difference between the XT60 and XT60i connectors. The XT60i had a third contact on it which, when wired correctly, can signal to the EF to treat the input like a solar panel and override the car charging mode. To top it off, I went ahead and ordered a Victron 12/24 20A converted that can be adjusted to 12/30 at 20A. It is better suited to use full time, unlike the cheap 12/24 from China. The Victron quality is excellent and has built-in cooling fans, etc. that, coupled with the XT60i connector, should give me 550W-600W of charging. So I'll charge the lithium battery from the car DC/DC charger and charge the EF connected to the battery through the Victron 12/24 (30). That way I can continue to charge the EF from the battery without having to run the car. Hope that makes sense! Ask if not.
That sounds like an amazing setup for your truck camper! It's great to hear that the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series worked so well for your needs. The Cube Series offers massive capacity, powerful output, and fast recharging, making it a reliable choice for outdoor adventures. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I have an Eco flow that I use almost nightly to run lights on my house. I love it. It runs a long time, was easy for me to figure out and not too heavy for this old lady to move around.
@@007alztruli I don't run the electric lights I have some USB powered lights which I plug into my power generator. I don't have it setup thru my panel. It's all stand alone.
I have the father of this unit (2 of them), the Delta 1300. Can only do 400 watts solar and no app and not LifePo4. Good stuff is that it has almost 1300wh and an 1800 watt inverter and charges from 0 to 100% in 90 minutes. Two years of 24/7 usage and both still going strong in my van.
Have also one. The KS version. The best of all is actually that is has no App, it works and works, without wifi issues. Without poor app. Have also two R600 PRO. But (there is always one). As an off-grid person, I rarely use them. They burn a lot of my solar energy into heat. Better to use a Victron MPPT charger with Victron batteries.
I lent my friend my 900 watt inverter generator to charge his Delta 2 Ecoflow unit in his small motorhome. He camps in places without power. There is a very nice feature in the app where you can limit the charge current so it won't overload a weak circuit or small generator. 650 watts is the sweet spot on that little inverter generator, low noise, no overload while it charges the Ecoflow. The Ecoflow runs his LED lights, CPAP machine, and the 45 watt blower in the built in propane furnace. He loves the unit. I despise the name Solar Generator...... it's a ''Sunshine Compressor''.
I just bought this Delta 2 to run my workshop and its awesome. My workshop is to far way from my home for grid as its on the opposite side of my 12 acres so i needed a way to run things out there. I also like the idea of being able to use it at the house for power outages if necessary. It runs everything ive thrown at it so far and with a couple cheap panels on the shops roof it stays topped up all the time. Ive also been using it to run most everything in our small camper my lady uses as her she-shed and now we want to get her one for herself as she keeps taking it from my shop lol.
I bought this model and it has saved me on a few occasions. I even did a video on my channel where I made breakfast with it during a morning power outage. I’m very happy with my ecoflow delta 2.
I have the Delta 2 and use it to backup my kitchen. It will run every device I have there, although one at a time mostly. This video is spot on but I do want to point out some negatives. First of all, it can be a bit loud and at the same time run a bit hot at the inside. It is at 30 degrees celsius most of the time. Delta 2 Max seems to have solve this with better fans. As I do not sleep in my kitchen, it is fine ;-) Secondly, It roundtrip efficiency can be a bit low, problably because it can do 2C, bigger inverter means less efficiency on lower wattages. Thirdly, it is not a real UPS but I run laptops anyway and my internet modem is on a small APC UPS anyway so it is also surgeprotected. But yes, this is a perfect allround backup power unit that you can easily take with you and run every you want to run while away from the grid.
Ecoflow makes impeccable products. I use a 1260wh delta on my inflatable boat with a 86lb trolling motor, and I can dash @ 5mph, cruise @ 4mph for 2hrs, or 3mph for 4 hrs. Best thing is it gets charged from 10% - 90% in 1 hr, so I can go for another run after lunch. All with 0 noise/emission/maintenance.
@@onecrazywheel I'm using a $150 vevor motor(very heavy, but has more power than minn kota). Connected to the Delta w/ a 24v 50a power supply plugged into ac output.
I just bought one after watching this..I dont think I would have without you giving the thumbs up..I appreciate your knowledge sharing..saves me so much time having to research everything
Will, I love that you pursue good value and still understand the value of a dollar despite having a lot of success. Keep doing such great work! There's the saying that paraphrases to "give a man power and you'll see who he really is". Have been watching for years and remember your backstory. Thanks for keeping to your roots and helping out so many people.
Home depot had a deal with the expansion batt for $1049. It's been my wife's wfh backup for about a month now with no issues. Amazing products and company
Yes, after weeks of research, I bought the *Delta 2* as my backup power for my home office last year. The UPS function lags a little, but No regrets here. 😎 The Delta 2 can run my Starlink, Laptop, LED Lamp, and small fan all night if needed. it's lightweight, very portable, quick to recharge, simple to connect, etc.
I bought a delta 2 a couple of weeks so I was so happy you approved. My only complaint is the screen doesnt work, the company said I could return the unit but since I use the app for charging info I decided to keep it anyway. If I lose the blue tooth then I'll return it.....hopefully.
A couple things about the 757. It's on sale for $900 quite often. I picked it over the Ecoflow because the Anker is a certified UPS. While I'm not using it for off-grid power I keep it hooked up to my home network equipment.
I have a delta 2 and it has a boost switch in the app which bumps power to 2700 watts. Using the boost is not as clean power but works quite well for a microwave or your heat gun. A very good review as always. Thanks Will.
My Delta 2 has been flawless - a real pleasure to use. We have daily power cuts and the fast charging has been most useful on occasions. I usually slow charge where possible to keep battery temp under 29C. The app with internet and Bluetooth is class. You can use 3rd party panels with EcoFlows which are usually much cheaper. As Will says just watch the voltage specs. If one needs additional capacity add on batteries are available. For campers there is a high quality waterproof bag. Very impressed thus far! I will be buying more EcoFlow products.
It's amazing to me that Battleborn is still charging those prices I've been using the fast charge feature in my ecoflow river 2 for the last 6 months. Unfortunately it seems to have degraded the lifepo4 cells significantly. I would avoid using the fast charge.
Agreed, Battleborn is going to need to lower their prices to stay competitive. I just can’t imagine paying that much for the raw batteries at this point when there are entire reliable plug-and-play solutions like this cheaper.
I’m glad most people find these reliable. I have several of them and it has made me nervous reading about a lot of people that had units die or go defective and it takes a lot of money and time to ship it back. So you’d be without your unit for weeks or months if you had a repair.
I bought a EcoFlow Delta Pro two weeks ago and upgraded the firmware to the latest. I think it has the solar feature you mentioned. I’m waiting on my EcoFlow solar panels ( the one you demonstrated x4 ) to arrive to wrap things up. I will say, it’s out of the box 1700w standard AC charger charged the internal battery for 30% to 100% in less than two hours. Also, setup was super easy, no issues whatsoever. Took about 15 minutes to unbox and setup. Very nice product, if weights about 100lb though 😊. It comes with wheels and pull handle, which on some other brands is extra. I’m happy.
I went to a Costco on the way to my campsite and they had an ecoflow rep there at that specific location. in-store only they had the delta pro 3600 wh lifepo4 for 1999.99 and the river pro 2 for 399.99. At the time I still didnt want to spend 2 grand but i sure did buy that river pro 2. I've had my eye set on the river pro 2 for a while now. Thinking back about the deal for the delta pro I been going to my local Costco 4 times in the past 2 weeks looking for the delta pro to see if they have in store 😂. I kinda want it now 😂
Bought this unit with the extra battery June 25th from Home Depot for $1049 and free shipping. Use it 24/7 in RV charging twice a day running 5000 btu AC. Wish I had bought the Delta Max extra battery (2kw) when Amazon had it for $989 in Prime Days. Put a dc fuse block on another lifpo4 100 ah battery and and wired in a xt60 plug to it and now have another 1.2 kw available to the Ecoflow. Actually have 4 100 ah batteries available. Just need a faster charger for them. The 10 amp NOCO takes forever to charge one. Bigger faster charger in my future. Maybe the one you were showing in the vid. Thanks Will. Very happy with the combo, now. Time will tell.
Been a fan of yours since day 1 and learned so much and built so many fun small to mid sized solar and battery projects . You are a rare breed on UA-cam reviews and comparisons( you can’t be bought , know your stuff and you are honest ). Most reviewers are all bought and sold like many of our politicians and about as ignorant too. I was thinking of a Bluetti, not now after your customer service comments. I trust you. Thank as always.
I picked up one too…. Then I read about the problems last year with the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth being unsecured/open and people reported that neighbors were connecting in and changing settings and powering their attached computers & fridges off. I’m hoping that’s been fixed with the latest firmware update. 😬
@@robfl07 How could they change settings by WiFi/bluetooth and have that allow them to physically connect to the unit to power stuff? I can see changing settings, but you have to be at the unit to pair it to your WiFi/bluetooth device. Once you connect it to WiFi, it uses your home WiFi, so the only way they could get to your EcoFlow would be to have your WiFi password.
Did you actually get yours I ordered it on the 23rd and got a delivery notice saying it was delivered already but amazon said don't pay attention to the notification that it's on its way so I called eco flow and they're giving me the runaround saying they don't have an ETA
@@warrenglen7636 did it actually get delivered I bought mine on Amazon prime day last week and they say it's delivered but it's not I called up amazon and eco flow and they said they're on back order with no ETA and ignore the delivery notice that I got the Amazon app which makes me very nervous
That’s a really good deal. Congrats… I just got a delta 2 w 1 extra battery and a solar array for 1600… including shipping… I’m looking forward to seeing how i can make it work with other panels, but I’d really like to see how the brand compatible panels do, compared to panels by others and such.
I actually picked up one of these and the added battery for not much over 1000$ around fourth of july for a van build. The only thing I would note to most people doing this -- the 12v output is very limited. I have all three 12v ports wired together (the standard cigarette output and the two dc5521 ports), and that max's out at about 16AMPS of output. This should be able to run my lights, fan, fridge, and hopefully manage to do my water pump/diesel heater (maybe not all at the same time). So far, its been doing great with a residential solar panel on the roof.
Just a little update - I think these might have trouble powering up a Dometic fridge on 12v power. The voltage seems to drop when the compressor engages, kicking in the low voltage settings for fridge, causing it to stop cooling. Just a warning for people trying to actually use the 12v power from these… I have tried wiring the two dc5521 ports with the 12v port and still didn’t help. Chaining my river 2 pro’s 12v power port with the delta 2’s seems to have it running. This will not be acceptable for my use, so i’ll have to sell and go a different route…
Hi Will , long time follower ! Very happy to see you doing solar gen reviews once again..I’m hoping that you’ll continue to do so ! Many of your recent videos are in my opinion for a more advanced group .. related to larger home systems .. great video and information as usual ….best product reviews!,
The Delta 2 does throttle down its charging. When internal temperature reaches 115F the maximum allowable charge is 600 W. This happened when it was about 83F and after rising 35% and running at 1000w the internal temperature was 115F.
Same thought process I followed. Ended up buying the Delta 2 Max - slightly bigger battery and inverter plus it has two solar inputs (and two aux battery connections, but I'll probably never use them).
I got a Pecron e2000 during their prime sale. I think it’s a fantastic value. It’s been flawless. No app but that’s fine for me I like to keep things simple.
Need to ensure that that it is the XT60i connector and not the XT60. The XT60 limits the amount of power that is supplied to the Delta 2 for the purpose of plugin it into the cigarette lighter in the vehicle to I believe about 8-10 amps. The XT60I has a third pin that tells the Delta 2 to except the full rate of charge, I have the Delta 2 and the extra battery for our Pellet stove in the event of a power outage. It has a 30ms switch over from grid power to battery.
Hi Will, Ecoflow make great products, but not perfect like all mfgs. I own two. Delta 2: Excessively loud fan in turbo. Does not support dual charging like the new Bluetti AC180. AC and DC capacity tests are below other Ecoflow units and the AC180. Had the chance to upgrade their extension batteries with more functions, acting independently without the Delta 2. Today I noticed Ecoflow reduced the battery price (holiday sale). Just wanted to highlight a few cons as fyi. They make great products.
I struggled for months considering Bluetti, Eco, Anker, New Names etc but got the Delta 2, it came with solar panel. Loved it so much that got the Max too. Have had two outages of 12 and 17 hours. Ran two freezers and a fridge np. The delta2 comes with us on camping and saved when the teardrop battery died. I also run tools on the work site. The kicker was I called all the customer service numbers and got thru with ECOFLOW np.
I was trying to choose between the delta 2 and Bluetti ac180. Prime day price for the delta 2 was $643 so I jumped on it and happy I did. I am a Bluetti fan but Ecoflow has a lot more features in its software which provides a lot of flexibility. I also just bought a bougerv 2000w inverter for my jeep, once I get that installed, that and the fast charge capability of the delta2 will provide a lot of flexibility for camping/overlanding.
Thanks Will! This is awesome! Definitely keep on them to make their products turn on when solar is available, and throw an MC4 connector in there. Maybe that was just a mistake. Have a great week!
Someone above mentioned that they send the MC4 connector if you get one (or more) of their solar panels... but it kind of makes more sense to me that they should include one with each Delta unit.
@@Tumbleweed5150 I agree. I think it makes more business sense to not frustrate the customer. MC4 connectors can be bought separately, so their attempt to coerce solar panel sales does not sit well with me.
I got a small Jackery a couple years ago for my CPAP. I was surprised how many uses my wife found for it so got another for her. She saw this Eco-Flo in a NY Times review and asked me to check it out. It was lucky that I found this review by my most trusted battery wizard! Thanks for the video Will !!!
I have the Ecoflow Delta Max and super impressed with its features and reliability. The only downside (for me) is the accuracy of the ‘power remaining’ feature on the display screen. While showing ‘1% remaining’, it will still run for a huge amount of time. Ecoflow advised to drain down to 0% and power to 100% 3 times and this will recalibrate the display. This does work but runs out of accuracy within a week or so. But on the whole? Super impressed.
I feel like there was some cheat code that resets this function, aside from just draining the batteries to recal. I’m not sure what it was but I think like up down up down left right left right ABA start. If that doesn’t do it, you will at least have 99 lives.
Thanks for the video, Will. We bought a Delta 2 and 200 watts of rigid panels for under $1,000 last Christmas for an rv trip to Arizona. We have an older rv and wanted something we could also use to run a refirgerator overnight at our cabin, which has frequent power outtages. The system worked great. I found I could keep it in my rv storage compartment, connect to my rv shoreline cord, and use the app to turn it on when we wanted to run ac appliances. We could easily get a full charge to run our coffee maker, wife's hairdryer, small ac heater, electric toothbrush, and refrigerator part-time, and running it through the rv system charged our rv battery. It worked so well that we bought a 2kw extra battery and will upgrade to 500 watts of solar for this year's trip. The only thing I wish it had is the ability to charge with very small generators, it requires a 1,500 watt minimum. A lot of people talk about the charging noise, but that can be easily changed in the app through the charging wattage. Turn the charge wattage down if you don't need fast charging and it is quiet.
@sweetbeep Keeping charging down to 400 watts is quiet, the fan might kick on once in a while to rid heat, and charges in less than 2 hours. It is very quiet at 200 watts and will charge in about 4 hours. That's what we usually have it set at when we charge in the vehicle, going higher will burn our fuse. One caveat here, the Delta 2 will only charge at 100 watts in a 12v socket. I use a cheap 200 watt pure sine wave inverter to get 200 watts with the 120v plug.
@sweetbeep My inverter is 300 watts max, the recommended wattage for my outlet is 220. I tested it at 300 Watt(actually 280 in the inverter manual), and it seemed to work fine, but I blew a truck fuse one day and decided I was pushing too close to the limit.
Another reason to consider the Anker 767 you had on the bench would be the twist-lok "30A" AC output to connect an RV. I think the Delta 2 Max would be closer to an Apples-Apples comparison to the Anker 767
We have these and love them, I have found that the MPPT is not quite as efficient as a Victron solar charge controller, but I am willing to wait a bit of extra time to get that free energy from the sun.
Will I bought the Delta 2 originally at $999. After returning 3 times under warranty I was frustrated. However… EcoFlows customer service was so good at communicating I am awaiting a full refund of $999 and bought the Delta 2 again at $799. Hoping the product has improved and they continue to keep their excellent customer service.
I have some FOMO now! Big fan of their stuff and I currently own the Delta Mini (882wh) that I love and push hard. BTW, I was stoked to see it came with the mc4 cable outta the box. Maybe they forgot to add it? Big fan, Will, keep up the great work!
I always look forward on your reviews for this kind of product. Ecoflow appears to offer the best bunch overall. I wish you get my own unit soon because my area is always plague by power shut-offs during the rainy season.
I had some weird noises coming from my delta 2. I just sent it back and really do prefer the detla 2 max. It was so much quieter and no weird feedback noises.
I found it interesting that it is a relatively light unit. Until these units become more modular I think it’s an important consideration in terms of sending these units in for repair. Really heavy units are prohibitively expensive to ship back-and-forth.
My have times have changed. A few years ago most people wouldn't touch an Ecoflow device. I remember removing it from my watchlist because of how it charged (too quickly for my liking) and their battery technology. I went with Blueitti. While I'm still happy with all three of my Blueitti products, my Suaoki g1000 died last week so I may be in the market to replace it.
Out of stock currently. Literally just followed link to buy... and check this out, they will deliver to spain... just have to check out import tax... Looking at the solar array too so I can take my motorcycle into the wilds on some serious touring... Mind utterly blown!💥💥🎆
I bought 2 pecron E2000's. They can put out 2000 watts each with 1980 on battery storage using lifepo4. 1300 watts of solar input on each 1200 on the wall. I paid 1099 for one and 855 for the second one during their prime sales. They are both expandable to 8kwh. No app and they use a brick for charging. Small price to pay for that type of capacity.
I love Will's channel. But all of these all in one batteries are for VERY limited use. If the power goes down for days this is not the answer. At the least you need an EG4 3000 and a server rack battery. With 1000 watts and 200 volts to keep the battery charged. Great video.
Just bought one during Amazon Prime Days for $479 and free shipping. Note, there are no returns unless it is damaged as it qualifies as "hazardous material". I sure hope I like it!
Based on my research and I'm totally a newbie to solar generators, I chose the Bluetti AC180 vs Delta 2. This mostly on the much lower efficiency of most all EcoFlow products as shown on a few UTbers testing. For the same price the AC180 stood out to me. Of course, I am now waiting on delivery of my AC180, ordered on 7/01/23. I emailed them 3 days ago to ask for a ETA delivery. They replied the next day saying based on Prime Days sales, they were behind on most orders now. THey offered me 2000 BLuetti Bucks to my acct. For future purchases, I guess. But I have to recieve my first item to see how that purchase is handled. I'm still hoping for a early/mid August delivery. I liked the features and prices of the Pecron, Oupues and similar SolGens alot. But the way longer AC charge times steered me to Bluetti and Ecoflow products.
Will, my delta 2 came with a mc4 connector. I don't know if it was a promotional thing or not. I run a 400 watt panel with mine. Only issue I had was my unit would not power on or charge on AC power when I first got it. I had to plug it in to solar for like 5 mins for it to power on. Now AC power works fine.
I have been using the Delta 2 for months now and it works flawlessly. Note that it doesn't like freezing temperatures, you get a warning message. Has been an issue when car camping during the winter. Also note that it won't detect solar panels in cloudy weather (while my River Pro will under the same conditions). And the fans kick in quickly. Anyways, an excellent product.
My Delta 2 arrived and it is great. I ordered one of their refurb 160W portable solar panels and am waiting on it now. I am planning to buy an additional refurb 160w panel and cables to put 2 in series. It is the cheapest $/W (using refurb to save some cash). I can't run 3 of their 160W panels in series since the voltage will exceed the 60V solar input limit of the Delta 2. The original Delta had a solar input voltage of 65V/10A limit. The Delta 2 has a 15A solar input. I am kind of "playing" with this to learn.
purchased REC brand 400watt Split Cell aka Half cell solar panel - has output 420 watts several times according to Victron 100/30 solar controller cost $300 at Northern AZ Wind and Solar Flagstaff az - they will sell One panel at a time
Here a product I just bought: Allpowers R1500 with an Allpower foldable 200W Solar panel. The specs: 1154Ah, 1800W (3000W surge) 4x 240V output, LiFePo4, 600 W Mppt , AC Chargerate @240V 1000W, i.e. after more than an hour it is charged. a bit slower than 1C. 12V out, USB A and C, on the top 2 wireless charging 120W. at xt60 12 - 95V @ 13A, hence it can also be charged via cirgarette connector while driving I performed your test. Electrically and electronically is working very good. A 2nd battery can be added. No test on that. price: 899 € - Prime Days price now: 1299€ + 400€ voucher I was forced to open it as the xt 60 connector broke off and slided inward. Very good built quality. Unfortunately they used, in my view, a very cheap plastic which should not be exposed to too much sun assuming that the plastic will get brittle over time. The attachment of xt 60 connector was definitively highly unprofessional, no wonder it broke. After my fix that should be fine. Highly recommendable: and the handles are integrated so they do not stick outward as in the delta 2.
For use with computer gear - would be helpful to know 1) what the switching time from A/C pass through to battery->output, and 2) if there is a way to monitor loss of grid power from a computer to manage equipment shut down, 3) conversion efficiency - clearly I'm looking for UPS functionality. Edit - The EchoFlow Delta 2 has a 30ms switch-over time. The Anker 757 has a switch over time of 20ms. My Cyberpower UPS has a 4ms switchover time. Anker in a support e-mail commented that with the 20ms switching time "Usually, the desktop computer keeps running during the switch over." Your mileage may vary - LoL.
I tested my son’s gaming setup on the delta 2 is a UPS power failure scenario. The computer and one of the monitors stayed on, but his other monitor cycled so the computer OS switched to single monitor and then back to dial monitor, so it was not a completely transparent switch over, but nothing was ‘lost’ either.
Will, I know you recently said in one of your segments that you didn't care too much for Growatt any longer,. But you might want to check into their Infinity 1300 solgen. Hobotech did a nice review. The LFP battery is in the same size class as the Delta 2 and the inverter is also rated at around 1800W. But the solar charge controller allows up to 100V @12A. Not sure why so many of the manufacturers of these solgens seem stuck at a 60V maximum on their charge controllers these days.
@@paulwoods4911 Valid points. All these products have certain compromises and assets. It's just a matter of choosing which ones will work best for any given particular application. Fortunately, there are a lot of different solgens on the marketplace to choose from these days. Today, I'm wanting to build a portable system that I can use to trickle charge my tiny old EV (an i-MiEV) and be able to carry it around in the back of the car, aluminum framed PV panels and all. Not really interested in putting together a trailer to haul around larger panels for this particular project. A 4S2P array of (8) 100W panels can actually disappear inside the car while traveling and are not too hard to set up for things like weekend-long science fairs, etc. But a 60V input limit on a solgen's charge controller would make such a setup a bit messier. Also, there's only 500W total solar input capacity on the Delta 2 and I really need the ability to plug in 800W of panels on a reasonably sunny day to run the 600 to 720W loads I'm anticipating with my EVSE. Otherwise, the Delta 2 is generally a nicer and lighter package.
The thing with the Anker C1000 is that all the settings are only available through the app which is foolish since you can't change anything if there's no phone.
Will - LOVE your vids! Please consider testing the Dabbson 3030 Solar power station - on eBay new for a ridiculous $949(!). I’m so curious how that setup would stand up to your knowledgeable and rigorous real-world testing. Thanks!
I was able to pick up the Delta Max 2 and 2 free 160W panels for $1500 just before prime day. I did not get solar cables either. It seems like it is a 50% chance you get them right now. Reading forums though, I guess the new batches come with them and old ones don't without knowing what you will get.
The Delta 2’s fan is very well designed. There’s no vibration noise, no echo or whining noises. The ALLPOWERS R600 top plates vibrates, the fan has a wind down whine noise, the fan is on or off at 70w AC output. It’s cheap and it has a 600w inverter and I can use a hair dryer on low. It’s not bad if dampened. At 100% battery the solar didn’t start charging even when there’s a 100w output. That was weird.
Hey Will. Really appreciate your vids. Old guy here im looking for a backup power supply. I was looking at bluettie but not sure now listening to a lot of feedback. Im shopping for generator and panels as one package. Thanks kid for sharing your knowledge.
zendure superbase pro 1500 is currently super discounted. In Europe, 743€ 1445wh battery, 2000w inverter and max solar panels 1800w, not a bad deal, the best for this money on the market at the moment.
Always enjoy watching your videos. Hopefully you can cover the new Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra and Smart Panel 2 soon. Looking forward to that. I was close to purchasing the Delta Pro but then I found out about the Ultra so I'm on hold now. Cheers!
I believe the ultra is definitely the better buy than the pro if you need 240 volts. However, I've seen several reviews where the ultra has been having display issues.
If you ever address questions, I have one. I did not see that you addressed this in your video. Recently moved to Florida. I'm building a high-performance shed (10 ' x 20' x 10' tall) to store tools, equipment & home items so things will be protected from the heat, humidity and ocean air while being stored outside my home. On-site gives me 24-hour access without the cost of driving and monthly payments. Shed will be built like a thermos, as you did in your series, & a bit more robust - Zip-R, blown insulation, completely air-sealed. I want to run a Midea U-shaped AC to cool (75-80) & dehumidify. I can run this from an extension cord at the start, but I'd like to run this EcoFlow (& PV) with an additional external battery of about 5 kWh to get me through the nights. PV will run the AC in the day and top-off the storage for the evenings. (I also have the benefit of using the EcoFlow for Overlanding trips, during which I can run the shed with an extension cord). The questions is, have you worked your magic to figure out an additional, external, stationary storage that could be used in the shed to extend the AC/dehu into the evening? Can we use one of the rack batteries you often use with a plug that adds to the EcoFlow? Thanx
I was going to get one when they had a coupon for $50 off, I had the cables I needed for the set of panels I was going to use and then the day I was going to hit buy they went back to normal price so I got the powerhouse 757 since it was $200 off and so far it’s fantastic other than the solar limit.
I have an older model and have given up on using the 12v car charger. It very quickly melts the end that plugs into the car. I do have a high output alternator, 135 amps I believe. Other than that, Meuy bueno.
i have the whole river 2 line. i just bought the river pro 2 I even have the og river pro. I been leaving DC on on Idle and this thing will not die. I have 2 pecron 2000lfp leave them on dc idle and i thought thise pecrons on idle did extremely well but this river pro 2 is on another level when in idle. this really helps when camping and charging stuff at night. every little bit of saved power counts. One thing to point out the usbc pd port is extremely picky with cables on thier whole river 2 line . The only cable I can get to work is my MacBook USBC cable. And I mostly use anker and Samsung cables

It could hurt to mention that the Voc can increase in cold temperatures. Just so people know to keep a bit of a safety margin with choosing a panel
There is a setting in the Delta 2 to enable higher power. It current limited because of it dual use for Car and Solar. So to not overload the car charging input, you need to change the settings in the app to allow faster solar charging. I never plugged a solar panel on them though, so I have no idea.
enable X-Boost mode in the APP
@@uzhacuzhacny1083 You got to be careful with X-Boost ! It will lower the voltage to maintain a high amperage (So keeping up with the resistance). So this might be OK for certain type of load, but for some load it might destroy your equipment.
Hello Will, I always enjoy your training. Thank you I'm always here to learn
It's on black Friday sale for $399 and I am checking the reviews. I love your channel
is it a good buy? I'm here for the same reason
Good to know. Was about to drop some money on a bluetti ac300 setup. Ecoflow it is then.
I'd love a Bluetti vs Ecoflow as I've eyed both for a year, for future minivan or cargo van living. Both companies have made something just about in the range I'm seeking; so far favored Bluetti a bit more...so would love some discussion/banter...could be helpful or save a mistake!
I would love to hear about your thoughts comparing the new AC180 to this Delta 2.
How did you connect the dc to dc charger and what charger did you use
Ask if not.
Exactly my question!!
He charges it with a 12v outlet like is in every car, then he just plugs it in using a cheap 12v to 12v cable
How do you connect it to power your house lights?
@@007alztruli I don't run the electric lights I have some USB powered lights which I plug into my power generator. I don't have it setup thru my panel. It's all stand alone.
I have the father of this unit (2 of them), the Delta 1300. Can only do 400 watts solar and no app and not LifePo4. Good stuff is that it has almost 1300wh and an 1800 watt inverter and charges from 0 to 100% in 90 minutes. Two years of 24/7 usage and both still going strong in my van.
Delta 1300 is a beast. Mine just works and I hope it stays this way. It doesn't have app ( is't dum ), but that's perfect for grid-out scenarios.
I have been running a Delta 2 for about 9 months with no issues. Its a really nice unit. :) Note: The MC4 cable comes with the EcoFlow panel.
what's the average battery life on it
I bought the EcoFlow Delta 2 several months ago. I have three other solar generators and the Delta 2 is by far my favorite.
As I do not sleep in my kitchen, it is fine ;-)
Secondly, It roundtrip efficiency can be a bit low, problably because it can do 2C, bigger inverter means less efficiency on lower wattages.
How do you connect this to the Delta? Which 86# trolling motor do you have? Newport? $299 from Amazon? Thanks

Well said!
Home depot had a deal with the expansion batt for $1049. It's been my wife's wfh backup for about a month now with no issues. Amazing products and company
Yep I bought 3 of them at that price. Now I see you can buy the same setup from Ecoflow with a free storage case for $999.
Ecoflow is not perfect, but I think they are the best in the class at this moment.
Really, try to get service.
@guineapigzed what happened?
A couple things about the 757. It's on sale for $900 quite often. I picked it over the Ecoflow because the Anker is a certified UPS. While I'm not using it for off-grid power I keep it hooked up to my home network equipment.
Oh you mean the solfix?
@@WillProwse Yeah, Anker renamed the Powerhouse 757 to the Solfix 1200

A very good review as always.
Thanks Will.
Does this power station work for a mini air conditioner?
Got my Ecoflow Oct 2023 for only $499! Love this small solar generator!
Bought the bigger one at launch. Used it twice from power outages and once to run my electric tiller already
May I ask how do you monitor the battery temp? Thank you
It's amazing to me that Battleborn is still charging those prices
I've been using the fast charge feature in my ecoflow river 2 for the last 6 months.
You might be able to get the solar panels cheap, but the shipping is a killer! 💸
I’m happy.
Which specific EFD did you buy(?)
Delta 2 with wheels???????

You have exactly the same setup as me, down to the 10 amp Noco charger. I am looking for a higher amp charger.

I just got mine on Prime Day for $411. Less than a year ago it was a "crazy" price at $799. Im so glad that the prices are more affordable
I also couldn’t pass it up at $411
I picked up one too….

Home Depot is selling the Delta 2 with Delta 2 Extra Battery for $1,099 - I just bought it. Incredible!
Hi, I have a Delta Max in my van. I had to increase my cable size to run my Deisel heater etc from the 12V.
Hi Will , long time follower ! Very happy to see you doing solar gen reviews once again..I’m hoping that you’ll continue to do so !
Many of your recent videos are in my opinion for a more advanced group .. related to larger home systems .. great video and information
as usual ….best product reviews!,
The Delta 2 does throttle down its charging. When internal temperature reaches 115F the maximum allowable charge is 600 W. This happened when it was about 83F and after rising 35% and running at 1000w the internal temperature was 115F.
Good to know/thx
That wouldn't work well for me, as I live where it can get over 120F.
This Delta 2 has been out for almost a year now..I own two and have been flawless...
I have the mini, the first delta, and the max. No complaints. Charge them during the day with solar and run a window AC in the evening.
Hi Will,
Ecoflow make great products, but not perfect like all mfgs. I own two.
Delta 2:
Excessively loud fan in turbo.
Check out physical therapy for the airway muscles with an instrument called the didgeridoo. For sleep apnea
I got my Delta 2 with a 220W solar panel. $999. Plus another $50. Coupon. Total was $1032. 5 day delivery. So far so good.
Thank You for this review. Already have EFD2 and a spare battery. Will be setting up four 100w panels in series as a backup.
Been noodling on one of these for a while
Thanks for the video, Will.
If you charge it slow, how long does it take to charge then? (Connected to wall outlet)
@@Raven5763 oh ok thanks so much. How did you know at which point it will blow a fuse?
@sweetbeep My inverter is 300 watts max, the recommended wattage for my outlet is 220. I tested it at 300 Watt(actually 280 in the inverter manual), and it seemed to work fine, but I blew a truck fuse one day and decided I was pushing too close to the limit.
You just made me reconsider my van electric system now. At least for the year to come.
I bought the Delta 2 and backup battery to use at the cabin. They power my ICECO fridge and the lights for 3 days. Most impressive.
I hope it works for you now!
Why did you return?
Yeah what happened
@@WillProwse get this mans story on your show!
I hope they post it on the forum! Especially with video
Wow three videos back to back thank you sir six stars
I bought that one too. It’s been working flawlessly. Really a great product and value.
Im thinking this to save my freezer for a couple hours during power outages.
My GE refrigerator will run at 98 watts for about 16 hours. It comes on and off working great
This was great !

More solar gen content please !
It’s on sale for $499 rn, just came to see what you had to say about it
Yuuup 😆so glad I got it at that price
Dang currently at 550, might wait.
Got it at $450!
@@appatightwhere at? I see $550 at Best Buy
@@appatight YEAHHHHH!!!😆
Will, you finally agreed with me. 🙂 I needed another Jackary and bought the Ecoflow Delta 2 instead. Very happy with it.
I've been waiting for you to review this thing, Will! Good to know your thoughts finally. C:
This is such a great intro unit. I have one and glad I do.
Mine did not come with an mc4 cable
I have been using the Delta 2 for months now and it works flawlessly. Note that it doesn't like freezing temperatures, you get a warning message. Has been an issue when car camping during the winter. Also note that it won't detect solar panels in cloudy weather (while my River Pro will under the same conditions). And the fans kick in quickly. Anyways, an excellent product.
I've noticed the fans kick in on mine even if it's charged 100% and only running my 12v compressor fridge which varies from 30w-50w...
What is the warning? Will freezing temps damage the unit permanently?
My Delta 2 arrived and it is great. I ordered one of their refurb 160W portable solar panels and am waiting on it now.
I am planning to buy an additional refurb 160w panel and cables to put 2 in series. It is the cheapest $/W (using refurb to save some cash). I can't run 3 of their 160W panels in series since the voltage will exceed the 60V solar input limit of the Delta 2. The original Delta had a solar input voltage of 65V/10A limit. The Delta 2 has a 15A solar input.
I am kind of "playing" with this to learn.
purchased REC brand 400watt Split Cell aka Half cell solar panel - has output 420 watts several times according to Victron 100/30 solar controller
cost $300 at Northern AZ Wind and Solar Flagstaff az - they will sell One panel at a time
It's over 1300 USD ( 1200 EUR ) in Europe. Quite a difference with $800 for the same unit in the US.
You’re totally right! Bluetti customer service is a nightmare! My 200 max is 3 weeks old.
Here a product I just bought:
Allpowers R1500 with an Allpower foldable 200W Solar panel.
The specs: 1154Ah, 1800W (3000W surge) 4x 240V output, LiFePo4, 600 W Mppt , AC Chargerate @240V 1000W, i.e. after more than an hour it is charged.
a bit slower than 1C.
12V out, USB A and C, on the top 2 wireless charging 120W. at xt60 12 - 95V @ 13A, hence it can also be charged via cirgarette connector while driving
I performed your test. Electrically and electronically is working very good. A 2nd battery can be added. No test on that.
price: 899 € - Prime Days
price now: 1299€ + 400€ voucher
I was forced to open it as the xt 60 connector broke off and slided inward.
Very good built quality. Unfortunately they used, in my view, a very cheap plastic which should not be exposed to too much sun
assuming that the plastic will get brittle over time.
The biggest weakness with the Anker 757 is there is no app. I love being able to control parameters and see SOC via wifi and BT.
The thing with the Anker C1000 is that all the settings are only available through the app which is foolish since you can't change anything if there's no phone.
Wow this is one of the best testing videos of the Delta 2 that I’ve seen! Thanks for the info sub earned 😊
Just picked up a Delta 2 for $411 It was a better deal than the Amazon Prime day sale. Current price is $899
Love when videos come I check daily lol
Will - LOVE your vids! Please consider testing the Dabbson 3030 Solar power station - on eBay new for a ridiculous $949(!). I’m so curious how that setup would stand up to your knowledgeable and rigorous real-world testing. Thanks!
I was able to pick up the Delta Max 2 and 2 free 160W panels for $1500 just before prime day. I did not get solar cables either. It seems like it is a 50% chance you get them right now. Reading forums though, I guess the new batches come with them and old ones don't without knowing what you will get.
I ordered the same deal, didn't get the solar cables either. Still a great deal being that it included the two 160 panels.
Thanks Will Prowse, that really helps. Love your videos..blessings 🙏
Thank you. One if the products you recommend if not the only. I have been waiting years for a positive rating🤝
Thanx
Ebay let me grab a refurbished one for $749 in February, you're right, super great deal
I bought this per your review. To let you know, and others, a week later I received an MC4 Solar Connector from Ecoflow. :)
I was going to get one when they had a coupon for $50 off, I had the cables I needed for the set of panels I was going to use and then the day I was going to hit buy they went back to normal price so I got the powerhouse 757 since it was $200 off and so far it’s fantastic other than the solar limit.
The Delta 2+ extra battery + storage case is $999 right now and you can knock it down to $800 with Ecoflow credits. That’s 2048kwh.
