Hello Mr provest hope you are having a great day or night yeah I know I am late again but worked 12 hours last night be safe out there until next time God blessed you from Paris Texas
I wish I could get the opportunity to be a trailer truck driver watching u having fun driving that makes me feel like getting behind the stairing a hate my country because u have to be very lucky to get to drive truck down here and my country is very small so that may be the reason why getting to dry trucks down here is hard but continue making more videos I enjoy watching them
I'm a retired lawyer who enjoys your VOLVO videos. The video I wanted to see is you taking a heavily load down the rocky mountain using your engine brake to keep your brakes from over heating. If you did not include it because it was so scary that you screamed like a girl all the way down I understand. If not, I would enjoy so really heavy down hill action. Thanks.
What gears are you running? What H.P. tied with it? Looking at buying one soon. A 2020. Pulling tanker in Northern Cali over to Idaho on I80. Lots of big grades to climb. Like the highway gears (2.46) for fuel economy with a 500HP but don't think those will happy pulling grades. Volvo rep recommends 3.25 with the 505 Cummins but I'm afraid I'll lose quite a bit of MPG's running those gears. I'm leaning towards the 2.64 or 3.08 with the D13 500HP. Just wondering what your thoughts were or if you had any. Thanks again for the great videos. Motor safe.
Describing Tehachapi... "Must be nice to live on this mountain. Don't think it snows here." Yes for the first, big NO for the second. Gets about a much snow as the Grapevine (I-5), the only difference is that Caltrans is slower to clear it....
Great Job The Automatic has a lot of Pull Going Up the Grand. Do you have to do Everything or does the Truck take care of it. Going Down Hill Does The Jake By it Self Or Do You have to DOWN Shift. Thanks for the Ride. Be Careful. You are a Very good Driver. Thanks Again.🚧🚧🙏🚛🚛📣📣
I never knew Cali had so much beautiful scenery always thought it was flat and desolate like the people that run it. How's the Volvo doing after a few of month's with it ?
no matter what you think about the governing body (i agree with you), california is the 4th prettiest state when it comes to scenery; out of the 31 states i have visited, Alaska, Hawaii, And North Dakota are prettiest
That was CA Hwy 58, that runs east & west out of Bakerfield, he leaves us just before he gets into the Mojave Desert, and Hwy 58 then goes onto Barstow, where one can get onto I-15 or I-40.
I miss doing this drive in a 15l tuned Cummins in a 389 with 13/18gears... By far the best handling truck I've ever driven, drank a ton of fuel though. Didn't slow down too much and outpulled everyone cause it wasn't my truck and I kept it to the floor. With my first truck I've been stuck at 65 for 4 years and I'm getting sick of it! Especially with elogs now. Plates for my 2020 Volvo just came in!! so il be hitting the roads in a few days. Can't wait to get back out there! Thanks for the ride Mr. Provost hope to see ya out there.
It is a law in most states out west and northwest. When you get below 40 or 45 MPH you have to turn them on. It's also a courtesy to let others know you're driving slower.
I'm amazed at the straight wide open roads over there in the US and the sheer lack of traffic. In Europe these days no matter where you are - there's always heavy heavy traffic.. Your Volvo - does it have a Volvo engine? Over here in Europe - all Volvos have their own engines and drivelines. I'm assuming you have the awesome Volvo I-Shift tranny in your truck too? Regards and enjoyed your vid.
Prefer a fixed camera to a head-mounted one. A head-mounted camera is nice to have sometimes (10-20% of the time), but the sheer amount of motion is too much when the entire video is filmed with one.
Why do you drive with your emergency blinkers on? You're not standing still, or crawling? What's the emergency? I hate people who drive like that. In my country there's a law against that. .....
its a federal rule you idiot...like this road which i assume is a 100km zone and the vehicle is travelling 50mph or less the driver activates the hazard signals to signal the other vehicles that this particular vehicle is a slow moving vehicle.
Thanks for the ride. I grew up in Bakersfield, the hottest place on earth. I live in the midwest now and don't miss CA at all.
Hope you enjoying the humid lol while we enjoying nice beaches here

Love toyr videos and seeing county through your windshield that I would never get to see. Be safe out there sir. Peace.
Hello my dear friend your driving is very impressive best of luck and God bless you 👍👍👍 love you from India
I remember when walmart trucks went so slow that they didn't kill the bugs they hit. The bugs would just walk off at the next stop.
California is a great state and 3 trillion dollar economy great achievement ! And thanks to you make Great video thank you thank you very much
beautiful parts and California
That’s a nice ride over that hill love running out there and I have seen snow up there rare but it happens
She,s got a nice growl to her for sure. Truck engine is awesome. Volvo trucks doing the job..

The actor that played Rocky on Rockford file is from Tehachapi he passed they put a statue honoring him
You know your going slow when a Walmart truck flies past you.
Thanks for the ride 👍👍
Any videos of you climbing the "GRAPEVINE"? Southern Valley towards L.A.?
Yes it does

Are the sounds in the truck a problem from the company or what?

I'm super excited for my new 860 to come in !! It's a TC-XE spec loaded!! 🤘
why you turn on when you go all the four migrators?

You can set these for the Jake to come on automatically with cruise set. It will hold it at no more than 2-3 mph above the cruise set point.
it would be said to us valley of peace and love!
I think I can , I think I can
I think I can ...yesssssss I CAN !

Really? California is anything but flat. You're literally riding a rollercoaster throughout the state.
no matter what you think about the governing body (i agree with you), california is the 4th prettiest state when it comes to scenery; out of the 31 states i have visited, Alaska, Hawaii, And North Dakota are prettiest
The tallest point in the contiguous 48 states is in CA...flat??
I know the title said in California, but it would be nice to tell us what road and location. It is a gigantic state.
It will be interstate 5

No hay un video en donde te calles y nos dejes a a solas con tu motor
It snows on those mountains. And it sucks driving in it, over it and through it.
Hi please sayig what is your name
good view from hat cam
What are your specs on your 860 for 10 mpg
You have a crack on the windshield on Driver’s side, top.
lol....dirty... and has been replaced since then for a crack at the bottom
Any law that states you need to use the hazards when moving below a certain speed or just to warn others?

@@hawki5120 Cool thanks for the answer, makes sense, and yeah it is nice for car drivers and such that they can plan to pass safely in good time.
Damn that was some climb
8.1 MPG is fantastic for 76,000 pounds.
i don't believe this
Tehachapi mountains
How much HP???
I was on 58 a week ago
Yeah man enjoy
What GPS are you using?

It has the same 13 litre engine as the Volvo Fh series and same 12 speed I shift box as far as I know I may be wrong
Yes , American Volvo VNL 860s have the same D13 engine and I shift transmission that European FN, FH models have
Prefer a fixed camera to a head-mounted one. A head-mounted camera is nice to have sometimes (10-20% of the time), but the sheer amount of motion is too much when the entire video is filmed with one.
What hp is your D13?
455
And does she bear to walk a lot with her, for example, in Saudi Arabia, trucks carry up to 1. 200,000 walks.
What's under the hood..a Volvo or Cummins?
Volvo d13
And a special thanks to you from your Saudi lover 🇸🇦🇺🇸
Does your truck up and down shift on it's own and you comfortable with it doing so?
Sure does. And I am very confident in its shifting. The computer is way faster and smarter than me.
Are these dual clutch?
Can't beat Volvo Ishift I know it's relatively new to the US but it's been developed over about 20 years in the European and Aussie markets
👍😉
And what kind of GPS are you using?
Rand McNally’s Ted 740
Why do truckers always have Southern accents? I guess we'll never know.
lol

First, oh yeah

That’s in your country. This is America. “iN mY cOuNtRy”
@@arcsolomon6360 Can drivers in the USA then not see a truck ahead is moving slowly uphill?
Emergency blinkers are for emergencies, not for mountains.
Damn that thing has zero power. Womans truck
What about MPG , compare to your Pete, super trucker 😅
@@Pelinas i get paid for my fuel and i dont haul the cheap freight you guys do
