That looks like a great simple meal to throw together super quick! We love those Ramen noodles too. The best way I found to keep the onion gremlins at bay is to put a bowl of water right next to the onion you’re chopping. I promise it works. It’s so weird! the stuff in the onions are attracted to water, and will go to the nearest wet thing which is usually your eyeballs.
Looks good ! Eating raw cabbage while chopping is a must...especially the top 2/3 of the core! A cook once told me that to prevent sticking, all noodles should be rinsed with cold water right away and then rewarmed with hot water. You had 4 people in the kitchen ...not as small as I thought...just an efficient kitchen! Good job!
They are called Liquid Aminos by Bragg (it's like soy sauce). And you might be talking about Miso (also a soybean product). We prefer to buy organic options for these things.
I avoided cutting onions at all costs due to them absolutely killing my eyes... started storing them in the fridge and now I can chop them with no problems! Give it a try. I now use onions almost daily. Store 4 or 5 in the fridge and just refill as needed. I was hesitant too, but it's a dream!
Ramen is the best comfort food on a cold day! And I love how you can add whatever you have on hand. We add eggs right to the broth which is delicious. Also lots of spice.
Josh, I hope you don’t mind my telling you - please don’t scrape the blade of the knife on the chopping board, it’ll blunt it. Also if you have very sharp knives cutting onions causes far less tears. Love the video as always.
Yum! that is an excellent brand of noodles. We use those also, along with the better than base. I just put the raw noodles right into the soup base when making... it allows them to soak up all the delicious flavor. making me hungry :)
If you toss the cooked noodles in a little sesame oil, they do not stick and add a gorgeous flavour to your ramen! New to your channel, loving it so far!
Well, I guess I will need to buy those noodles, last week I was at Costco, picked them up then put them back unsure as to how I would prepare them. Thanks for the suggestions, loved the fact it had all those veggies! Oh! And thanks for sharing the recipe, will print and put in my cookbook 😁
I'm allergic to raw onions but can eat them cooked. The fumes are horrible for me. I have found that partially freezing an onion before you slice or chop it really works and keeps my eyes from watering at all. It freezes the juices in the onion first and that is why it helps. Just set a timer when your onion(s) are in the freezer for 10-15 minutes, depending on size. You do not want to attempt to chop or slice a hard frozen onion. It is very dangerous because it could slip and someone get cut. I hope this helps.
Can u share what u made to hold your cast irons on the wall sometime? I also have a small struggle and lots of cast irons I use everyday and hate storing on and in stove lol
This looks AMAZING!! I use those noodles for a yummy stir fry with either teriyaki chicken or like a beef and broccoli style. Mmm so good. Definitely going to try your ramen recipe!
We saw those noodles at Costco a while ago and not sure if they would be good to buy such a big bag. I ended up ordering a small bag from Azure Standard to try. They were so good! So we ended up getting the big bag from Costco the next time we went. Great job on your soup it looks yummy!
Thank you for sharing! I have to ask about your blue and white dishes. Are they Currier and Ives by Royal? I have a few of "The Old Grist Mill" pieces. I find them here and there when I go thrifting.
The things I think as I watch this video: "Omg this is amazing I should absolutely do this, my husband would love it." "Haha, onions... I really should just get some goggles for chopping onions, actually..." "Daaaang that is a dense and tight cabbage, wow." "Oh no. Yup. Look at all the stuff going into that stock. Yup. Husband will devour this." "Gosh dang it. Time to go back to Costco."
We choose to keep them separate so the noodles do not get soggy and broken down when we have leftovers :-) Cooking them broth works out great if you're going to eat it all in the same sitting, but we make extra :)
Now that’s a title! Ramen Professional! I have a new life goal! ❤

My kids always come in and steal the cabbage as I cut it! They don't love it cooked though.
I don't know, D...it's still pretty small 🤣

Yes they are. And they are The Grist Mill.
The ramen soup looks amazing! Can you tell me what brand of miso did you use? Thank you all again for the wonderful recipes you share with all of us!
The miso is Organic Hikari Minute Miso. Blessings!!
@@HeartwayFarms Thank you for the quick reply. Have a blessed day!

Can you please share your smoothie recipe that she made ? Thank you 🙏
Julianne makes her smoothie simply with frozen mango, fresh spinach and some water:)
@@anniemcelroy2812 It looked pretty self explanatory...I don't think there was a whole lot to miss ;)
@@anniemcelroy2812 Thank you so much 😊
If you want to "cry" less when cutting onion: putt the knife and board under cold, running wather befor you start cutting.
Why not cook the noodles in the broth?

@@HeartwayFarms Thanks so much!!
Chew a toothpick for onion cutting?
I didn’t think ramen was good for you? But looks good
When you make it at home it's great ❤️❤️❤️
I had a bundle of GREEN onions that had me weeping! I blamed it on genetic modification! 😂
It's no fun to cook if you can't snack along the way. 🤣
Looks delicious!
