Thank you for another wonderful video. So enjoy your family and the peace it brings to my heart. Praying for His strength and energy and peace for you all 🙏🥰
i live in england n its not the norm to have pantry's over here ...i know criminal so after watching all you amazing homesteaders i made my own in the spare bedroom n a huge deep freezer in my back room n got to it n now i have a fully stocked home ...peace of mind for sure n i love batch stocking up ...loved this video...have you got a homemade cream of chicken soup recipe ?? 🌺🌺
I think historically, in the States, especially in the more remote areas, people only went to the store very infrequently due to the distance to the nearest town. So, many of us were raised to keep a certain amount of goods on hand. Nowadays it just allows me to not have to worry about grocery shopping. I go about ever 3 to 4 weeks and it is only 1.5 miles. Lol
Annie, do you use 3 ingredients (butter, flour and milk) to make the cream of? Then, after you make the cream of concoction, you add the item you want the cream oof - like chicken, mushrooms, celery, cheese, asparagus, etc? That’s how I make it. I will look for your video on how to make it, just in case it’s different from mine. Love to watch you and your family cooking and homesteading. The children are so darling when they cook!!
I love the way you explain everything so well, and show us step by step how to make something. It's lovely to see the younger children helping and learning how to prepare and cook. 💞
Greetings from East Texas! You have an excellent helper there! I’ve never made a Pot Pie from scratch but I’m willing to give this one a try. The brownies look magnificent! Need Taste-A-Vision! Have a Blessed Sunday
I love your stockpile cooking videos. I think they are inspiring and it reminds me of little things that I need to add to my stockpile, even if merely for the sake of convenience. So, thank you. And, Tabitha did an awesome job!
It's All about the 💓 Heartway ! Little Tabitha did so well making the pot pies. I bet they were good, too! I'm going to try making your Brownies 😋 Thanks again!
Everything looks delicious, Annie! I make mine this way. Sometimes I don’t have a pie crust on the ready, so I make a yummy shaggy biscuit topping that is very quick! Stir together: 3 cups self rising flour 1 tsp garlic powder 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 2 cups heavy cream or buttermilk Stir all together and make 12 drop biscuits on top of filling and bake at 350 for about 36-40 min. I do this in a 9x13 pan. My bunch loves it this way too!! Have a great weekend, y’all! ❤️
Tabitha gonna be a great cook also. She's a beautiful young lady. I loved this video. Will definitely be using the brownie receipe. I use that pot pie one. It's great!!!!
Thank you these both look easy to make. I am hoping I can find more of you easy recipes. Work full time plus and have large family. Thank very much for the easy instructions so I can make myself. Keep up the great work.
Tabitha did a fabulous job in the kitchen today 😃 I must have missed where you all canned frozen mixed vegetables. What a great idea. I dehydrate frozen vegs. I assume you only use them as ingredients bc they tend to be on mushy side?
Your brownie recipe is very similar to the one I've used for years. It's called Hershey's Best Brownies. Yes, they are delicious and the only brownies I make. Thank you for the great ideas!
That pastry looks beautiful. I'm a big fan of pastry. 💜 we're almost finished our version of the pantry challenge and I've learnt so much. We ran out but were able to substitute some things that surprised me, we baked far less desserts than we should have and have an excess of other things that are now on my list to use up. Ive kept all documentation on exactly what we did use and ill check it all out together next week. So thankful we have everything we need. ❤
I just love it when I see the blue dishes that you use. I have the very same set. They are Currier and Ives prints made by Royal China. They mean the world to me! My set belonged to my husbands grandmother, who I loved like my own grandmother. She collected them from her grocery store in the 1950’s. Hard to believe that they are right at 70 years old. I was also curious about how fudgy the brownies are. With 4 eggs I would suspect they are more cake like. Please let me know!
@@anniemcelroy2812 made your brownie recipe and omg they are so good. You know, I’ve made brownies occasionally and they really weren’t that good at all till I made these. I did sprinkle the top with ground almonds. That was the only thing different. These would be really good with ice cream also. The taste is similar to the pioneer woman’s baked fudge brownies done in custard cups-which was the one I always used. Now I also have your recipe when a bigger batch is nice to have.😊
Stockpile.... When it comes to cooking from basic ingredients, all our food doesn't have that many different things. As for the collection, the shopping list is simple. Have recipes for all the ingredients listed in the final recipes that are not basic ingredients. Make the ingredients from scratch and store them. Canning, drying, whatever. When comes time to cook a meal, you take basic ingredients and/or ingredients you've previously made. Then you've truly made your meals "From scratch".
Hello. Our stockpile is made up of many many basic items as well as a few "easy canned items." In these videos I'm sharing basic, simple, easy meals using ingredients that I personally have stocked in my root cellar...long term storage. I'm not necessarily showing how to cook from scratch in these videos. Thankfully, we do cook a ton of our meals from scratch. But that's not what this video series is about. I definitely agree that making things from scratch and homemade and handmade is best. Have a blessed day!
Your pie looks so good! Do you have a video on canning the mixed veggies? Do you have any tips on maintaining a good texture on the veggies (not mushy)?
Your brownie recipe is very similar to mine, the only difference is in the amount of sugar and flour. My recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of flour to make an 8”x8” pan of brownies. So doubled it would be 3 cups of sugar and 2 cups of flour. Everything else is the same quantities as your recipe if I was making a double batch. The reason a lot of brownies are bitter has to do with the type of cocoa powder. To get better results using cocoa powder in any type of recipe you should try to buy Dutch Processed Cocoa Powder. It’s more alkaline and will be less bitter. Your pot pie looks delicious as well as being quick and easy to put together from your pantry staples.
I have two kids who really don't like pot pie in any form. So, they get salad and the rest of us enjoy the pot pie😊 I like not having left overs because it's so much better with a crisp crust:) I definitely have to make two pot pies if Josh's parents are eating with us.
My only question is your recipe for cinnamon coffee cake has no coffee in the recipe where do I put it in the cake please let me know kimdenisesmith Australia
I've come to realize that this must be kind of an American thing. We call it coffee cake but it doesn't have any coffee in it. It goes well with coffee :-) So, it's more like a cinnamon/sugar cake. Not only can you eat it with breakfast but it makes a great dessert.
Learn to make everything from basic ingredients. By basic ingredients, I mean, if it calls for "garlic salt" you use "garlic powder" and "salt", not "garlic salt" It is less expensive to buy the ingredients for mayonnaise and make your own than to buy the cheapest brand of mayonnaise!
@@ecocentrichomestead6783 I don't use much salt at all. We just moved and starting over. And people it's hard right now just to put basic in the house.. I mean starting with nothing. But thank you for the advice..
Have you ever tried duck eggs? Most people who are allergic to chicken eggs can actually eat duck eggs. Just a thought :-) Duck eggs work awesome for baking.
I love the way you have included your daughters in the kitchen. Never too young to learn real life skills.
Thank you for another wonderful video. So enjoy your family and the peace it brings to my heart. Praying for His strength and energy and peace for you all 🙏🥰

I smiled when you said you can make cinnamon rolls with leftover pie pastry because that’s what I do. 🙂 Dinner looked good.
The best 😊
So yummy, thank you Tabitha and Marie and Julianne for helping out your mom with dinner and dessert, God bless 🙏❤
