- After we said goodbye to the family farm in Grafton, Nimbin was our next planned stop. We had a few planned stops but things didn't go quite to plan as they rarely do these days 🤷🏼♀️ None the less we had a great time exploring and finding more gorgeous aussie animals and meeting some wonderful people on the road!
We're Gin & Brendan a couple of true blue Aussie battlers.
We choose to live everyday like there's no tomorrow and that's why when 2020 dealt us a few lemons, we decided to make lemonade. We did this by buying a 1990 Toyota Liteace Van, spent 4 weekends giving her a makeover, a name 'ChugBug' and setting off on an adventure across our home state of NSW, Australia.
Join us as we battle our way through all sorts of ups and downs doing our best to show as many of the hidden secrets to our great state.

Glad you enjoyed it and yet here we are WISHING for our annual snow trip to Japan 😂😂😂 But we must admit we are really enjoying the summer here in Aus this year! And we've got some great beaches coming up, just stunning and sometimes we find ourselves completely alone!!! Soooo lucky!

Liked seeing the bats. Beautiful beach walk. Eventually the National Parks will open back up but the beach was a wonderful switch in plans.
Absolutely!!! And there are sooooo many magical spots to explore. Honestly we could spend years just within our home state before we even nearly get around to seeing all the things we want to see!! So so lucky to be in Australia 🚐❤️
Hi friends. It's odd to see the bats hanging out in the open in the daylight. What a beautiful countryside. The rolling hills and the cows are really pretty. The kangaroo is super cute. Sorry you hit all the dead ends. But sometimes that can lead to some fun times for sure. Thanks for sharing with us!
Yeh so bats hang out in the open everywhere here. Then at dusk in some places the skies are filled with thousands of them on the move. Next time we visit our birth town we’ll have to go on an adventure and share it! It super cool when you think about it! Mostly people got annoyed because the bats would eat all the fruit off their trees 😅 thanks for stopping by 🦇

Ahhhhh yes, how neat was that! So that was the famous kookaburra, Australias laughing bird! Brendan did really well to spot this one catching a feed. Our teamwork was on point getting the camera out at lightning speed to capture this moment! Lucky no one drove up behind our stationary car in the middle of the road 😂So glad you enjoyed this vid, it was fun putting it together ✌️😜 Hope you're both well

Wow those bats! I've only ever seen bats in the wild once and that was on our honeymoon in Kenya 12 years ago! That was an incredible footage of that bird swallowing the mouse!
We really had a wildlife filled day, quite by accident! The bats are everywhere here in Aus, we kinda forget that to other countries it would be special, kinda like when we see a squirrel when OS (no squirrels here). ANd the kookaburra eating the mouse, mate, that was some awesome timing right there!!!! You've probably heard the laughing sound the kookaburra makes, hes an Australian icon 🧡
First went to Nimbin in '73 it was ... ummm ... herbal.... lol.. You also managed to get a fair bit of wildlife, like that.
I bet 😂😅😂 It would have been amazing to have seen Australia in the 70s, especially places like Nimbin! I mean it’s beautiful now but prior to all the development and back before the age of technology, we can only imagine!!! When we get home and finish this series I’m actually thinking of releases a short vintage series of a few places around the world from over 25years ago... (i think 25yrs makes the footage vintage 😆)
There was so much wildlife, it was awesome! We’ve started to see more and more along the coast!
@@GinandRing Think the year after going to Nimbin and Byron Bay we drove up to Cairns. Really only known for Marlin fishing back then. Sure has changed a fair bit now.
It really has. We’re children of the 80s and even in our time it’s been such a dramatic change! If all goes well this year we’re hoping to get up North, it’s been at least a decade since we spent much time in QLD and I’m almost a little scared at how much it will have transformed 😳

I went there last week for camping. Such a colourful place it was.
Soo colourful! Plenty of friendly people on the streets and the overall vibe is awesome! We can’t wait to head back that way and do the area justice with some more in depth vlogs! 🧡

Nimbin looks like a fun place to explore, I also enjoyed seeing all of the colorful buildings.
You caught some great footage of birds in the wild - and that mural with the birds and other animals was cool to see too.
What a bummer that the parks were closed during this visit, I hope you make it back to the area
We definitely will, some of the parks we couldn’t go to we’re ones we were most looking forward to! When we eventually head North to Qld we will be stopping back at all these places we missed the first time around 😜 Cannot wait!!!

unfortunately, I'm shocking at knowing what is towns and suburbs are actually around me, but since traveling with Han I have such a wider knowledge of the general area. So I cant wait to do the East coast and see some of the locations you guys have suggested!
