I know the critics love to pan Kiss, but I seriously put them in the same league as the Beatles when it comes to vocals... when Peter was on he was just as good as Rod Stewart
IIRC, Paul wrote "Hard Luck Woman" for Rod Stewart, but ended up keeping it for Kiss. I know he can find nothing nice to say about Peter now, but he clearly thought he had a Rod quality back then!
Kiss was a good band and I love and still listen to them but to put the m in the same league as the Beatles is ridiculous. I ve always found Peters voice to be obnoxious . I’m not a fan of Rod Stewart but he can sing rings around Peter. Rod Stewart is more of a musician and vocalist.
Hard Luck woman was for Rod!!! Lol That's just another bash at a living legend drummer like Peter!!! Gene said, in studio Paul tried to sing it, and Gene of all people said this sounds like a Peter Criss song, so Stanley reluctantly let the best damn voice in the band by far sing it!!! And, look at the results!!!@
Peter is by far the best voice in Kiss, and its easy to say!!! Black Diamond by far, he has such a powerful and soulful voice and beats the shit out of the drums 🥁!!!!!!@@!
Black Diamond is one of best songs ever live in history!!! Zeppelin Stairway, The Who Barba O'Reilly, Fleetwood Mac Go Your Own Way and the Eagles In the City live!!!

Paul was going to sing all of "Black Diamond." You can thank Eddie Kramer for Peter singing it. Peter told a fanzine back in 1988 that while they were working on their demo tape in 1973, Eddie heard Peter screaming (singing something, I presume) and said, "Why don't you try that?" After he heard Peter singing it, Eddie said, "That's it. He's doing it."

The only magic I'd like to see happen to song #11 - I finally Found my Way - is some way for it to disappear quickly. I'm sorry but that joke was too easy. It's a shame that the final recorded vocal effort by Peter is that song. Baby Driver is very weak, true, but the music is not that bad. I think it's better than Hooligan. The photos on this list are great. My favorite Peter Criss vocal: Hard Luck Woman. He sings it very smooth and relaxed and rarely screams.
@@allkissranked out of all the raspy voiced singers from the 70s, and there were a lot of them, Peter was at the top of the crop. I can't picture Rod Stewart or Bob Seger putting the same energy and passion into Baby Driver.

Two songs of Kiss reached the number 8 on the US billboard chart, Beth was the first while Forever was the second, Beth is sang by Peter while Forever is sang by Paul, so Peter wasn't a great singer, nor he was a great drummer, but he sang one of those two ballads that brought Kiss higher on the billboard chart, Peter Criss has better songs on his solo albums.
If you like Peter Chris as the singer of kiss and he’s your favorite then you’re not a kiss fan, and all the songs mentioned in here are easily forgotten
@@kevinchandler179 bullshit. I’ve read every Kiss book published and tonnes of interviews-Bob was being polite and political. Peter’s joke version had very, very little resemblance to the finished product we know. It was mostly Bob and Stan. Not to mention, Peter was notorious for trying to get his friend’s songs onto Kiss records-and taking 50% of the writing proceeds-even though he didn’t deserve it.
Paul has always been jealous of Pete because they know his voice is the best for the band he clearly could have been more secsusfull if they would have given him more operunity to do balads.
My rankings would be WAY different- though Black Diamond would be #1 by a mile. There are a few albums where I'll skip the Peter song. Hooligan and Dirty Livin' are lame IMO. I can live without Beth and Mainline is easily my least favorite off HTH
The great equalizing metaphor about opinions/bungholes: "Everyone's got one and they all stink". Appropriate for any numb-nut who would place "Baby Driver" at this list's designation.

Peter had a great raspy rock voice, Black Diamond, Nothing to Lose etc. He's probably my favorite voice in KISS.
I agree! That and the heart with which he sang.

Unbelievable and fantastic and underrated and underappreciated!!!

I'm very glad he insisted on it. KISS fans have a lot to thank Eddie for.
No, they all should thank Peter for making Black Diamond and Hard Luck Woman a frickin legendary song 👏!!!@

Thank you for your commentary of "I Finally." One of the most God awful things I have ever listened to.
And what you've done with the bed music is really cool.
:) Yeah, it's a pretty bad song. I feel kinda bad because a lot of people seem to like it, but I just think it's so damn cheesy.

Black Diamond as well!!@
No arguing with the top 2, I like every song on this list, yes even the much maligned Finally Found My Way lol.

I really like Dirty Livin'. I think I'm in the minority here, but I've never enjoyed "Baby Driver".

Yeah his contributions are probably pretty minimal on most of these.

Beth!!! Stan Pendridge and Bob Ezrin said he did write Beth, Bob just helped him structure it!!!

Hooligan.

Certainly a fair choice for #1
Peter Criss is criminally underrated singer! Drummer meh, singer yes 🙌
True! He really has a great voice.
He was a bad ass drummer .... I am a drummer!
He was a great drummer.
He was absolutely fantastic and amazing as a drummer
Solo alobums songs are not even there
Yeah just ranking his songs on full band KISS albums. Otherwise the list would be a bit long.
Hooligan???????????
I'm confused. Are you saying having Hooligan at #3 is too high? Too low?
Paul is kiss worst singer.
Hooligan in my opinion is his weakest song.
It's definitely a bit silly, but I like his vocal performance on it.
Thanks for the comment!
Hard luck woman is the greatest Peter Criss cut in my opinion
I had a tough time choosing between that and Black Diamond.
More than likely best singer in this band of misfits!!!
You can certainly make a case for it!
