We must never forget Ray Kennedy. One of the most talented jazz-pianists that ever lived. Always honest in his playing. And such unbelievable technique.
What a terrific player. I'm surprised I'd never heard of him, but then there have always been exceptional musicians who chose to focus more on their music than on promoting themselves. I'm sorry to learn Ray is no longer around. He obviously had a lot of good energy to give the world.
Take a look at bassist Martin Pizzarelli at 4:15, and again at the end of the clip. I think Ray and John pretty much wiped him out with that blazing pace.
I liked this trio, but to me, it was obvious Ray was clearly the most polished musician. His comping / voicings were perfect and when it was time for solos, Ray was essentially Oscar Peterson. I didn't care to hear John solo after Ray did. I know it's not a blowing contest but still.
Agamemnon Padar Quite Right !. I meant no offence. It’s just so special and fantastic !. Kind Regards and Greetings From Scotland, Best Wishes, John Fenner.
Does anyone know the title of this masterpiece ? !. Forget , A A B A !. I’m having trouble sorting the order ! ! !. What the H-l, why worry !, Doesn’t get any better. Hats off. Dear Musical Souls All.

wow it's such a spectacle to witness the music making process. How sad that Ray is no longer with us. His music and talent will continue to amaze us.
Greatest jazz pianist since Art Tatum

I got a chance to meet Ray. He was one of the nicest and humblest people you'd ever want to meet.

Smoking piano player, great trio.

This audience should have ERUPTED into applause after Ray's solo. Incredible
Christian Oh So Right Christian !. You’d Think They Had Been Listening To Someone Reading Out Telephone Numbers !. People Astound Me !.
@@johnfenner347 We Germans are on the more reserved side. Doesn't mean that we are not enjoying such a musical eruption or are impolite.

The title is "Oscar Night". It's an homage to Oscar Peterson.
