Remind me of my mother’s gingerbread. She made this type of cake all during the year, with a dollop of sweet cream : wow, tastes gr8 on a hot summer day or delicious on a cool Ohio winter day. I lived it...haven’t had it in 50 years...think I will have to use this recipe and just cut it in -half. ( I can do that right)? Anna bless u and ur family on this beautiful time of the year. I hope u have a wonderful day and maybe someone cooks and bakes for u...it’s just my wife and I and that’s ok... my children are grown and raising children of their own. We did a good job, all our kids are doing well. It’s me, Dad who’s wagering which disease will take me, Cancer or Heart disease. I have both...taking all wagers. Life is to be lived and man I did...I was a RN for over 40 years , I had 4 children, lost one to heaven, and I have numerous grandchildren and now 2 gr8 grandchildren. and, plus I have been a musician, oil illustrator, a writer, a jewelry maker, a poet, and a song writer and producer for 60.... love ur channel. I remember making this in 2019 Christmas after watching this as that was also my daughter's birthday cake.
I can't believe I *actually* have that size of the loaf pan, lol. Most times when I watch many of these UA-cam baking chs I don't. Then when I try to go out to find them I can't. Loved this one too Anna. I have everything to make it but one spice and the molasses. And I bake a lot but isn't that always the case? 😋

Anna, would I have to modify the ganache recipe in order to use milk chocolate?
Could you a sweeter type of chocolate for ganache, like a semisweet chocolate (51% cocoa solids) or even milk chocolate (35% cocoa solids)?
