As a former native of Michigan, i am struck by the number of courses cited in the upper portion of the state. For one glaring reason. THE PHYSICAL SCENERY IS STUNNING!! Some of the most gorgeous topography ever concocted by mother nature. The Traverse City area is so beautiful, that golf legend Walter Hagen resided there until his passing in 1969. The golf course at Travers Bay was utilized as a site for a Shells Wonderful World of Golf match. The course resembled an inland Pebble Beach. Absolutely breathtaking. In recognizing the most beautiful parts of the world, dont forget the wonders of Pure Michigan. Some of the finest witnessed anywhere.
These courses should be on here: Eagle Glen, Farwell, MI Devil’s Ridge, Oxford, MI Forest Akers West, East Lansing, MI HawksHead, South Haven, MI Angel’s Crossing, Vicksburg, MI Bucks Run, Mt. Pleasant, MI
@@loga582 I know. So sad to see it go. I never met a metro-Detroit golfer that said they disliked that course. Hopefully Copper Hills in Oxford can take advantage of the reduced competition as that course’s layout also has a ton of fun holes and elevation changes.
im in Illinois and I feel were pretty lucky that we can drive at all to a few of these, Greywalls & Arcadia are tops in the country.. Its the land up there, its spectacular!

@@GettinThereGolf Eagle Glen is also great. I put it at the top because it’s my favorite. Making a Course Vlog there very soon.
Devils ridge sold and shut down, sadly.

Devils was my home course in high school it was ok at best condition was never to great but nice views
The picture of 17, Hidden River, is actually Little Traverse golf course.
2 reasons the cmmon golfer wont play these. 1. Price 2. Public/private
Treetops masterpiece and garlands swapfire should be on the list
Harbor Shores?
The Heather at Boyne Highlands should be on here. As should Dummaglas in Charlevoix.
Raddrick farms should be mentioned as well!
You guys forgot the Tamaracks, I love that place.
It's also a public course
Tamaracks in Harrison is a fun track. Very tight course.
@@buffaloben15golf88 Worked there for a summer fun and very nice. I currently work at Plum Hollow Country Club
harbor shores?
Bucks run and Raddrick should be here
Gaylord isn’t in the same location as harbor springs
Crystal Downs!?
I hate how the premier golf courses are all up north. I live southern/central Michigan they’re all 4+ hour drives to most of these
im in Illinois and I feel were pretty lucky that we can drive at all to a few of these, Greywalls & Arcadia are tops in the country.. Its the land up there, its spectacular!
See how far you are to Clarkston, MI. There’s a course there, Shepherd’s Hollow Golf Club. Save you 4 hours.
Eagle Eye/Hawk Hollow, Hunter’s Ridge, Emerald, Grande, Calderone, Timber Ridge are all excellent tracks in the 517
So many of these are private courses average joe will never be able to play on
Stoatin Brae? A-Ga-Ming? Arcadia South?
michigan has crap golf courses
You are a idiot!
@@treetrunkthompson4537 yeah says by someone that probably hasn't been to a tenth of the spots I've been to in Michigan
@@ARDG89 ive been golfing in northern Michigan for almost 40 years played just about every course up there ive been really fortunate!
