I've been a member of this Muni for over 40 years, but haven't been able to play for the last five as Cancer screwed up my swing and took my right lung...Ha. But a month ago, I dusted off the clubs and had to teach myself a new swing to compensate for the ribs they had to cut through (7 times) and had to learn a new swing. I had game before so I'm trying to get game again.....except a bit older game.....Ha. Also, my wife has convinced me to retire so I am. I'm joining a very nice Country Club 30 miles from my home (my former home course is 15 miles away and in horrible shape). You're welcome to come down and play anytime. A couple of the courses you've covered, I've played. Got to say you, sir, are a gentleman and not out to destroy a course trying to make a comeback. People like you make this wonderful game so wonderful, so thanks.
At 2:15 you can see a banner for the Lakeside Rams on the side of the “clubhouse”. That’s my dad’s cross country team. This golf course is their “home course” for cross country races. Didn’t expect to see Essex on UA-cam today. 😅
I take photos and record footage like this for all of the paradise places that I go to. I have photos and video from all over the Caribbean Islands, Mexican resorts, Florida resorts, and so many others. I like showing the things others turn away from and ignore. I like this type course exposure you're doing in these videos.

Good old Essex golf course, I have played here a couple times just to practice getting over water hazards, as I have only been playing for almost 2 years. No you didn’t miss a hole and no they didn’t miss number it, they have 4A and 4B (only theory I can think of is since you play 9 twice in order to get 18 they put that in there to give some variation of you want). I was there in September and it was a little greener but not by much
Yeah that course is in rough shape, driving from the rough lol. Props to you for the sponsorship as well, and rolling with the punches on having to blur the DJI logo and have the disclosure up for the full video haha.
This is hilarious! I’m a member here at Essex and I feel your pain weekly. Lake is down when ya came, it’s filled back up now and pretty for spring break and summer weather! Great place to learn to strike the ball and aim. Can’t trust a putt to save your life. Family friendly and dog friendly. lol I am dead ☠️
That was creepy as effe! You should try playing Lake Bridgeport and Decatur GC some time. They usually have at least half if a green and the other half is hard pan. Thanks for doing Lake Park. I have played that course for years and love it!
So you’re from the great state of PA? Me too. Born and raised just north of Pittsburgh. Played college golf at RMU. We have a lot of nice public (and private) courses in SWPA. Andddd lots of bad ones. If you’re ever coming to the are, I can point you towards the worst and best in the area!
That would be essex golf course in hot springs. it is the worst in hot springs for sure. summer is a little better. the water level in the lake is higher during warmer months. the dam nearby keeps the water low during winter.
Really enjoy this series Josh!! You always find the ugliest parts of these courses too!! I think if these course would just water the greens maybe the fairways would make so much of a difference!!
Dude this course could be so insanely dialed if a GM, superintendent, and grounds crew who knew what they were doing got a hold of it! The layout is so unique and it seems to have a ton of potential to be a little gem. Get the water hazards filled treat those greens. Scrap that outhouse of a pro shop and build a proper lil clubhouse building with a bar, grill,and patio 🙌🏽 I can’t believe some bigwig golf fella or a PGA Tour pro hasn’t bought this thing up in a heat beat.
Im not sure if its the worst rated course in washington, but you gotta try the grandview golf up in blaine, WA. It might not give these courses a run for their money but it might come close!

Normally I think the courses you visit are far better than the average UK golf course in winter, however this one has definitely surpassed them.

You should come check out Cobblestone golf course in Muskogee Oklahoma.
Never played there, but Muskogee was probably one of my favorite places to travel for work. Had a lot of fun

I end up playing this type of course a lot. It's better than nothing and sometimes the course turns out to be okay.
The Norelco Series 9000 sucks. When the battery dies, you can not replace it. Love the worst rated golf course series!!! Keep up the great videos.
