They are wearing suits filled with air(like astronauts). Inside and outside knees and elbows have very thick guards. Their neck region also have a guard to prevent neck from breaking. Helmets are also very strong. Shoes can be torn easily.

MotoGP riders: go down at 190mph/320kmph and gets up like nothing happened

Urban Flowers a football player gets tapped, a single tap and goes down like he’s about to die. MotoGP riders fall down at 320kmph, and it doesn’t matter about the suit, it’s still painful but they get up because they are strong ppl.

I've been watching MOTO GP for over 40 years and 2 people have died. Neither one was going 190. They never crash at those speeds.

@Fred Virtuoso the suits have built in airbags, prodomenantly inside the airflow bump on their spines.
Yeah, but i think there should be some Kind of device that keeps the neck from twisting, especially when the drivers get knocked out which happens quite often. But its hard to realise, maybe some Kind of Airbag in the neck area

Rossi is nearest, and he still have chance to continue the race because his fall was not as severe as the other.
Because he's the oldest
it's the rule, because Rossi is the only one that have the biggest chance to get back to the field, the crash doesn't cause the bike un-rideable, it is their job to help the rider who have biggest chance to get back the field as soon as possible.

They missed Vinales' crash at Philip Island . They could have avoided one one of Marc's crashes from the list . Probably the one when he tried to play with Fabio for pole .
That was a mind game by Marc and I think this is a mind game by MotoGp to fuel the fued between Fabio & Marc and create an enthusiaism for their future fights . As Rossi lost his pace , Vinales & Rins being promising but inconsistent & Dovi failing repeatedly to win the championship , there is no potential threat for Marquez . Fans are seeing a potential in Fabio to beat Marc .
MotoGp will be thinking "Its time to end the Marquez One Man Show era , He needs a rival " .

If I was Marquez in that situation, I would have needed to be taken away by stretcher because of the amount of waste I would have deposited into the buttocks area of my leathers :O

Last July I was in a horrific motorcycle accident and can’t even tell you how it happened because I have no memories of it (yes I was sober lol). Broken pelvis, broken hand, torn shoulder and knee, 2 blood clots in my left lung and grade 3 concussion. Airlifted to Stony Brook (Long Island). Will I ride again? You better believe it. It’s in my blood!
Marques always crashes in FP - qualification, maybe he wants to know the limits of his motorbike on every circuit
That is a theory I believe, Marc wants to find the limits of every corner of every track. If he crashes and finds out where the limit is, he now knows exactly how hard to push in that corner and won’t get caught out by that corner again.

I'm big into watching supercross, outdoor mx, gncc-style offroad races etc but moto gp is very new to me - it's unbelievable to me that there aren't dozens of brutal crashes every race. These guys have some crazy talent and massive cojones.
Edit- can someone explain to me why there seem to be a lot of fires when these bikes crash? Is everything just super lightweight so the tank is fairly easy to rupture during a slide, and the dragging metal sparks it up?

#OOT. I think this kind of stuff makes Motogp more spectacular than F1, the margin of error in GP bikes is so little. a bit too early on throttle you'll thrown away from the bike. Braking a bit too late you'll get lowside. F1 on the other hand seems quite forgiving

The reason Marc is having these Big crashes is because hes pushing the bike over the limit. Hes so good
Casey Stoner once said of Rossi "your confidence exceeds your competence" - not so on that occasion but always true of mm. Combine that with what Rins said of the grinning twat "he has no respect for other riders" and you have an accident waiting to happen, and here's your proof.
