WOW. Just wow. This is how to change your mood on a rough day. NATI's beautiful melody the John's trademark moving harmonies had me floating. I kid you not, my bones are vibrating and my head is full of good feelings. I just feel amazing all over. That's the effect only a few things, good music among them, can have. on you. Thank you LJ and thank YOU too NATI.
Ooh, yesss!! I've been hoping for this since people started sharing gig videos of all of you singing this together. It was lovely with only Nati (and the audience) singing it in Oxford, but with added Johns it's just insanely beautiful. I played one of the live videos for my mum, and it actually made her tear up. She doesn't usually cry from music, so that's a pretty big thing.
You guys should absolutely release an official recording of this! I saw TLJ and Nati in Edinburgh in March and I was blown away by both, I would love to see you guys release tracks together! Cheers!
The whole show in Lincoln was amazing, but hearing this was something special. Me and my fiancee had never heard of NATI before the gig, now she's a regular on my playlist! Hearing her sing in pure Gaelic was something special. Go see the Johns, they're awesome but go see NATI too, she's just as cool!
On rabbie burns day this year I was doing a performance with my school choir at a care home and the same day an hour before we left for the home my teacher pulled me and two of my friends to the side and said “right might be a bit of a big ask but do you think you can learn the full lyrics to wild mountain thyme in the next hour to perform today” and we’re just like👀luckily we did get the lyrics in front of us during singing
Fantastic rendition! I thought this was beautifully done at the Leicester O2 show in March. I really think you should all get together in a studio and record a version. It might make a good future community project as well.
Ooh, a verseI didn't know! This is beautiful. I'd already saved a gig vid of this on my TLJ, Folk and Peformance lists. I'll be saving this, too, and sharing.
The melody is also the melody of a hymn I grew up singing in church! (I realize that this song probably came first.) I wonder how many other songs have this melody!
So pretty, all your voices! I'd discovered Loreena Mckennitt's version recently (w/her audience), now I have 2 fave versions to listen to❤! Thank you for posting this of y'all😍
Is the Santa Fe date still accurate? It's by far the closest for me and I have been wanting to see yall live for years now! I'll get to Dallas if I have to!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I was looking for a version to learn and this one is so beautiful; I was able to fashion a guitar accompaniment that utilized some of the gorgeous harmonies you created. Thank you! ❤

Grew up singing this song. Lovely. This reminds me of sitting around my mom's living room singing for hours and hours. Thanks, folks.

This was a beautiful rendition of the song!! A cover of "The Big Hewer" and/or "White Squall" would be fantastic.
