I have a local spot I've always loved that has a Stromboli that's probably a little bigger than this, I'd say 9-10lbs on average and they put so much cheese in it it's insane. Most of the Stromboli has a solid 1-1 and 1/2 inch layer of cheese across. It's delicious and also something that I am full off of the first piece I cut off of it and there are leftovers for a week lol
I’ve been there several times during the challenges, and that was the biggest one I’ve seen. Completely unfair. Glad you were able to still kill it. 😮😅😅😅
Probably was bigger, but the perspective is somewhat hard to judge. Food on a stand up in the camera vs a shot far away, but then again, I've seen Joel eat that 15kg+ sushi challenge, absolute madman, probably the one doing the biggest challenges out there.
It was definitely wrong of them to double or triple the size of the original. I cant stand it when places cheat people like that. You did a great job though. Congrats on another win! That is a beautiful park too 😊

Joel always a gentleman and a pro. I’m still not over the whole quesadilla challenge where it was supposed to be $1000 prize and they changed it to 500,but made quesadilla bigger, just two weeks before he arrived . That was so wrong. And that entire video he remained professional , but nothing Was said about the taste of the food, and there were no comments like “compliments to the chef”. It was pure business nothing more nothing less. But it was done with class, one of the many reasons I love to watch Joel’s videos. So glad to have discovered these a few weeks ago. I originally saw one video of Joel at a state fair where he was trying all the different foods. And then a few weeks ago, I saw one of the challenges and I’m like wait this guy looks so familiar.. my husband and I have been watching him ever since.
I love how he tries to reassure that he didn’t make it bigger but the photo evidence plastered on the walls prove (in Maury voice) “that was a lie” 😂 great job Joel!
It very well may be bigger but do notice Joel is using a tricky camera angle. The plate is propped up on something so the food is extra big on screen. Still very much does look huge though but you can't compare a flat plate to a propped up one angled at the camera.
I noticed the record was 8:00 and Randy did it in 12:52. Both of which I'm sure you would have shattered if your calzone was the same size as theirs. Great job either way Joel !
@amberteard1068 he's done a few bigger challenges in the past like a 10lb top sirloin challenge. He just prefers the smaller 5-7lb challenges. He's not terrible at all.
I prefer the ingredients to be softer and more cooked, and I love to have ricotta in my calzones. I tend to cut it in strips , they didn’t give you a knife? You did very well on this one!
That calzone looked good on the outside but once you opened it up, everything didn’t even look cooked lol I can’t even imagine doing a contest like this and not enjoying the food really lol

Ok - I don’t understand why not every restaurant owner is encouraging the challengers. It’s after all a way to promote more business. That owner tried to sabotage your attempt, making it bigger, delaying your sauce request, then giving you a way oversized tshirt that in no way would fit you. This vlog in fact will hurt his business be showing everyone how he treated your experience. You always take the high road Joel and try to highlight the positives. Ty for yet another great food challenge!
$35….families should rock up there, ask for a Joel Hansen special Calzone and make it a BIG ONE with a pizza cutter and feed their whole family. The reason for thick cheese is that you have the pan raised up high and the cheese runs down to the bottom of the calzone.

Actually the calzzone is not that good I have tried 4 or 5 times and it was bad and i have tried in different places so I rather eat a pizza 💯%.
