- After a frankly appalling previous performance, Sister Beard is back looking for redemption. Pizza being her favourite food, I thought this one would be a cinch...It didn't quite turn out to be that simple...
Today we're at Aldo's Italian in Apperly Bridge taking on their 'Giant Calzone Challenge'. One huge calzone, filled with chicken, mozzarella, mushrooms, rocket and some other stuff. Now this one is really just a laugh; there's no free t-shirt or anything cool like that if you win, although if you can finish in one sitting you do get a spot on the wall of fame.
That being said, it's only been defeated twice, so a perfect opportunity for Jen to redeem herself!

Q: How come you don’t get fat?
A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' video.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

Oops…I seem to have published an episode of TCOB on a Sunday. Meh, same difference. Tonight, Sister Beard is back looking for a shot at redemption…and although it might not be pizza, a calzone is close enough.
Defeated only twice, but other than that not much at stake apart from a spot on the wall of fame; could Sister B and I become the respective third and fourth victors to join the elite club of Aldo’s Giant Calzone Challenge finishers?
NB: Spare your fingers. This video was filmed over four weeks ago, prior to the introduction of the current local tiered lockdown measures in place :)

Aldo is such a great guy, always helps my grandma out when we visit. Its easily the best restaurant in Bradford. Wish him all the best
I think thats an old timey italian restaurant thing, my Grandma loved to go to our local Italian when she visited because he was always very charming and flirty with her (she was in her late 80s).
He also just gifted her a big 5 liter bottle of iced wine on her last visit.

Pretty much everything Italian is the same....dough/pasta, sauce and cheese. If you like one dish you'll probably like the rest.
