Excellent, as always. When I first started using DaVinci Resolve I didn't understand the limitations of Dynamic Zoom very well. Then I tried the Transform technique but got lost in the weeds. I got lost because the explanations I had seen were not complete enough. This video is short, sweet and very complete. Thanks, Daniel.

Right on. Yeah the dynamic zoom is very cool for one specific use case.
Just a quick setting for 16 x 9 footage without having to add any key frames.

Yeah, I’m sorry about that. I’ve talked about this in previous videos and I sometimes forget that not everybody has watched my other videos.
Once you’ve added a keyframe to any video/image clip or asset in your timeline, you’ll notice in the bottom right corner of that asset, two action icons appear.
The one all the way to the right will expand the keyframe panel below that asset, which is the panel, I showed in this video.
The one to the left of it actually controls the easing motions and deeper integrated positioning of how those keyframes interact, which I will definitely be covering in an upcoming video.

Thanks but you didn't cover ease in/out points. They're VERY important for avoiding the robotic zoom look, and something I personally have quite a bit of trouble controlling reliably - BM's implementation of it seems to be VERY clunky... or maybe I just haven't properly understood it. BTW if you do cover it, perhaps you could use less dynamic footage than the car race in order to see the subtlety of the effect. Cheers and luck to you. 👍

    • @Daniel_Batal
