that is EXACTLY how a cat would say it XD
And that's EXACTLY why all cats need to be indoor cats.
@@jennifer1329 Unfortunately that doesn't always stop them from trying. I know of a few cats that jumped off balconies and windows to try and catch a bird
@@jennifer1329 true. The feral cats should be seen as pests sadly. There are to many endangered birds and other wild lufe because of such introduced species, and all the cause of humans as pet hoarders to other human reasons.

As an animal rescuer who is in *constant* need of fosters, I want to thank the woman who is fostering Tampa (hopefully he’s in his loving, furever home by now!) and for Dodo for promoting fostering and adopting!
Btw, in case anyone’s reading this who’s having trouble getting their cat to eat, I have a few suggestions. First, if they won’t eat _anything_ at least try to get them to drink something other than water to get at least a little nutrition in them. A few suggestions are cat milk (I’ve found most cats like the brand Cat Sip), tuna juice (in water, and not several cans at a time because of the high sodium), and believe it or not, the “juice” that’s in canned green beans or even peas. (A lot of cats will even eat the green beans or peas!) For food, baby food is a good option (go for the meat flavored kind, not the veggies) but take it out of the jar as a lot of cats don’t want to put their face in a tiny opening, understandably. One of the best options that’ll get almost any cat to eat is canned mackerel! I use canned mackerel when I’m performing TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) on feral cat colonies, or even just to trap a stray cat. If they won’t eat the mackerel (which is rare), KFC chicken works GREAT too!! Remember, even if it’s not the “healthiest” of foods, getting them to eat _something_ is better than them eating nothing.
A quick tip when you’re medicating cats, wrap them up tightly in a blanket, with only their head exposed, then quickly put the syringe in the side of their mouth. Be careful not to have their heads back because you don’t want the liquid to go in their lungs. Syringe a little at a time, giving them time to swallow (and breathe) in between. If your cat is eating and you just can’t get the medication in them, mix it in with a little food. Make sure it’s enough to mask the taste (you can get chicken flavored medication too), but not so much that they won’t eat it all in one sitting, so you know they got the whole dose. Also, DO NOT let them see you mix it in, especially if you’ve unsuccessfully attempted to medicate them. They’re smart cookies and won’t eat the food if they know you mixed in the medication. I learned that the hard way.
Bless you for your commitment to helping animals!
💫🦊
Thank you so much! ❤
I love all you wrote and saw myself in the length of it. I try to keep it short but more often than not one idea reminds me of another and another and...😄😹
I'm so happy to see the uprising of a new foster mom, seeing as she's obviously new to this. I'm excited to watch her get better and more confident in what she's doing, can we make a series on just her??
hahaha "it's been an hour and I haven't killed the cat yet
YES
@Brix Broox Ok, I wonder why
@Brix Broox why ?
she is so entertaining lololol
This woman needs her own show, where she fosters cat after cat, inserting her awesome personality and loving nature into our world.
You didn't choose him, he chose you.
Can confirm, this is truth!
E4T6 Cats always choose their humans!!! I have 4 beautiful kitties, two that randomly showed up in my garden and never left!!! I lost my favorite last year and two months later the new fourth kitty showed up in my porch 🐾🐾🐾🐾😉!!!
Exactly!😂
I can confirm thst to my cat was a stray everyone liked the cat firendly to everyone and while letimg I like flip it let’s try to carry her and she was fine normly she would attack and run away but she left me and got food and everything and became my cat she still outside a lot but I trust he she behaves and don’t go to middle of roads and or wonder to far she loves to bring me birds but anyone try’s to stell her she claw them meow and bite even
Give him tuna or salmon. Cats never say no to either.
0:08 "I've never cleaned under there, GASP"
Lol That was totally me after adopting my cat. He's an orange tabby & the poor lil' guy came out from under my bed looking like a shaggy grey color from the dust bunnies....oops!
Hyper Clean home - welcome to hyper allergies. The human immune system is designed to run with a permanent load on it, give it nothing and it attacks itself. Interestingly doctors are giving extreme allergy (like everything kills you) patients intestinal worms to distract the immune system and it works quite well (apart from the itchy butt).
PS - anaphylaxis. It doesn't happen immediately. You get stung for the first time by fire ants and you won't get anaphylaxis (but you will throw away all those clothes, alarm pheromone), the second and subsequent times you might and its straight to a hospital, foot on the floor (don't wait for an ambulance), or hope someone has an epipen. Snakes are a little different, you can get anaphylaxis from a single bite, but it's usually delayed by a few hours. Guy near me (Mersea Island) got tagged by an Adder (he just had to pick it up) and felt OK, 6 hours later - anaphylaxis and almost died, 11 miles from a hospital. Snakes (venomous) can choose to dry bite, then you leave them alone, because the next will be extra nasty.

First few days was just him warming up to the environment. But she did a great job at being a patient foster mom :). Aaaaaand... he's everywhere! Hahahah.. hope he'll find a furrever home soon. Gonna bring a lot of light into people's house with a cat like this.
@The Dodo Thank you so much for the love - Have a great day ahead and be safe :)

This is the best video ever. A total must for all new foster recruits. It’s not about being perfect it’s about being patient and caring. Thank you for foster💕💕
He is gorgeous. Hope he finds a loving family, or someone that will take good care of him ❤
😻
Being an avid cat owner I can tell she is uncomfortable around cats but still finds the patience and love to treat him tenderly. Awesome sauce. We need more people willing to go out of their comfort zone these days and expand their consciousness.
“It’s a mouse with a treat” “it’s a fish with a treat” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This woman is amazing, and also hysterical! I laughed so hard when she asked about climate change and pluto hahaha. I think she should be a professional actress. She's just incredibly charming. And that perfect kitty will definitely be adopted, he's so cute and funny. I love the way he sleeps!! Thanks to The Dodo for this. Everyone who can should foster right now! Yay!
“Catnip, legal in all 50 states” 🥰 I love this lady. Good sense of humor.
When I watched the whole video, I was rooting for Rachel and Tampa both.
I almost cried when Tampa started to eat.
I am amazed by the patience and love Rachel has for Tampa.
Her: "If he doesn't eat in the next 24 hours..."
Tampa: looks at the camera and winks.
Also... I think she's almost at an adoption fail of keeping the cat. It's pretty obvious he's chosen her lol
Why is that so truuuuuue

Obed Antonio umm thanks?
I want her to keep him so much..I will be so upset if somebody adopts him..that spunky little fella is adorable and perfect for her.
It takes a special person to nurse an animal back to health and then part with them so they can go to their forever homes. *hugs*
I like how she auditioned her friends for the voice over lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Me too hahaha I was cracking up at that part
And even recognizes and tells the first guy he's not the voice of Tampa
I’m a foster of small pets for our local shelter, and it brings me so much joy to know how much I’m helping them

Tuna! It's very important to cats
@@limiv5272 I was told by a vet never to feed cats canned tuna.
@@chopin65 To the best of my knowledge, the only problem with tuna is that cats like it too much and would want to eat it all the time even though it doesn't contain everything they need

"I've never cleaned under there" 😂 I felt that! This lady is so sweet and funny.
It sucks there's so many sick, abandoned, unloved, and neglected pets (esp. cats) but you're a hero for adopting and putting up with them. Incredible and inspiring. Thanks.
"Turn around and face the camera. No one wants to adopt your butt."
OH YES I DO! If I didn't live so far away, I would!
She did a good job with Tampa, very patient and tolerant, she'll be a very good foster mom
when my cat was sick i would use a syringe to feed him wet food until he started eating on his own, helps a lot
I used warm chicken soup broth and a syringe, that gave my sick cats some hydration and protein to get stronger and then eat. 💜😎💜
Just having something in their belly helps them to remember they need to eat. Definitely syringe going something is good, but you must be very careful with human foods, way too much salt for their tiny kidneys. Dilute the broth or get the stuff they now have out with broth made for dogs or cats.
That's what I do. You can get full liquid food from the vet (Liquivite in the UK) which is designed specifically for sick cats (and dogs) and those in post-op recovery.
A little all natural baby food with a splash of kitten milk works too. The smellier the better.
In one particularly tough case it was pate that finally kick started the eating reflex again!
I fed a sick cat a special liquid food, it looks like cream but it's fortified with all the nutrients a sick cat needs.
If it's an emergency and you don't have liquid food, you can use evaporated milk. It worked on a very sick stray that we were sure would've died that night if he didn't get some calories. He really perked up and survived until a cat rescue organisation could trap him.
@@scottishastronomer that is the kind i used, it was specially used for cats recovering
Being a veterinary nurse and i have to say getting my patients to eat is so rewarding.
The voice over: I have someone who’s perfect for Tampa....friend starts talking....wait...your not tampa 😩😂
For a newbie, the foster mother did an AMAZING job looking after Tampa -- hats off! She showed a ton of patience and love, and kept her sense of humour throughout. Forget plants, clearly your talents lie in looking after four-legged creatures :-)
Please give us an update on Tampa. ❤ This is the sweetest video and the foster mom is adorable.
I adopted a cat a few months ago, her name is ella and she’s super friendly! She loves to lick my hand and will just try to snuggle every time she gets the chance. I adopted her from a adoption place in Australia called GAWS. She has been affectionate since day one and I say adopting a cat is better than getting one from a breeder. It’s fun to try and win them over and make sure they end up being happy. I also have a cat named Leo, we got him from someone who couldn’t take care of him anymore and one day, Ella and Leo saw eachother through the window and there loved eachother since. Cats are so adorable ❤️
“Is it Climate Change?” lol ....what a nice lady! Dedicated!
I LOVE THIS WOMAN! She’s hilarious “he’s not dead...I checked” lmao! She’s an amazing owner and a hilarious friend! Ahhh! Please post more videos of her with cats and stuff!
Thank you for explaining how important and much needed fosters are! Also how there's always another sick or needy animal waiting and how they send you their profiles and pics so you see there little faces and know they're waiting!
Rachel, you are a champ!! You ate in the bathroom (what GUUUUUTS), warmed his food, and doted over him, so awesome and amazing. He'll find that forever home because you helped him feel better and show his true self.
I literally teared up because of how hard she tries to save him. It's beautiful.
I really hope Tampa was adopted. He is a beautiful cat.
The motto for this channel:
Not all heroes wear capes!
He's such a chonky boy. Adore him. Any cat who naps like he's passed away is a legend. Good luck, Tampa and kudos to to all the legends who foster, especially the animals that are sick and need you to go above and beyond. Love it.
i hope you find an amazing home for him!

I like that this woman really isn’t an “animal person” but she is really trying to help. This is what life is - accommodating others where it doesn’t always come naturally to us
I love that she's helping cats get adopted, but I'm jealous that she has so many friends.
The someone out there is YOU. ❤️🐈
He looks like my cat that had to be put down 13th July 2019 after 8 years. Just as plump and gorgeous very gentle angel. I'm 66 and won't be getting another. I'm still mourning my Pedro. I hope to God he finds a happy home and gets a lot of love, Bless him.
So sorry to hear about Pedro. Losing pets is the worst, their absence hurts so much. I hope you can take comfort in the fact that fate put you two together so Pedro could spend his one kitty life with you and not someone else. Doesn't make it easier, but eventually it will make you smile. Hugs, friend!😘😘😘
@@camez2345 Thank you.
My sweet boy kitty of 16 years and my little girl kitty only 4 years passed away in the same month. I was so depressed I could barely get out of bed. But I knew I had so much to give other needy kitties in shelters and it was honoring my kitties memories to save more. I now have 2 rescue kitties that gave my house life again and they saved me just like I saved them.

I don’t understand how people can foster pets and give them away after it would break my heart 💔❤️
Just because their home can’t be with you, doesn’t mean their home can’t be with anyone else ❤️ It’s really bittersweet so I totally understand where you’re coming from!
The things you do for love.
It is hard, but it allows us to help even more animals, and these pets will go along to find a great home with someone else.
Yeah, I think the same, but that way they can help more animals. It must not be easy for those people, anyway !
I would be the biggest foster failure... all of them staying with me
Bless her for going all out and fostering him back to health. I think he looks like a loveable lug, but you can tell she is not in anyway a 'cat person'. Which makes her doing this for him even more selfless. But A cat person will love this sweet chubby-wubby.
That was fun! She was funny, I hope she continues to have a wonderful attitude and make videos to help cats get adopted.
