Pregnant cats seek out a safe place to give birth when they go into labor. About 30 years ago, my co-worker found that a stray cat snuck into her porch during the night and birthed eight kittens. Almost everyone in our office adopted one. I was happy to give Buster a forever home. He gave me more love in 17 years than I could have imagined. Truly a blessing!
How wonderful to have enjoyed Buster's unconditional love for 17 years. It's never long enough though, is it. They are only lent to us, and the time for giving them back comes far too soon.
Not necessarily abandonned. Her owner could have been an old person living alone who died recently, and no one was there to take care of her anymore. That's what happened in my neighborhood.
Uh Huh.....Lots of ferals look fairly clean btw. And why dontcha just jump to ABANDONED.....Lets not look at the other options....Lets just make pretend it was some EVIL HUMAN....UGH....
Same thing happened with me. I heard a cat meowing outside, and I jokingly told my dad to "answer the door". As soon as he did, Jewel came inside and immediately rubbed herself against everything and everyone in sight. She was actually really clean and healthy so we can only assume she was in heat and ran too far from home. We never ended up finding the original family she was with, so we kept her. (1st couple days she spent with us, I put her under the blankets when going to bed, and she stuck her head out, eyes toward the ceiling, and put her paws up over the blanket as if to hold the covers down over her. It was so cute) She was pregnant too, and gave birth to 4 kittens. Her kittens were so cute, and energetic, but one of them wasn't very active. We named him Chubster, as he was born very, very fat, and as a result he had problems walking. He often dragged himself around with his front legs rather than actually walk. Every time he would try to use his back legs, he would collapse back down. Didn't help that his siblings would push him around the most. Honestly, Chubster ended up being my favorite of the bunch, and I always rooted for him to get better. He did eventually, and is currently living with my cousin. He's still fat though. One of the biggest cats I've seen I person. Back on topic again, Jewel has a love for every new person she meets, treating everyone as if they're part of her family. Still, I think she has a soft spot for me specifically. After all, I'm the only person she lets rub her belly.

I cried so much at this story. I think it’s just because how pure cats can be and how they can put all their trust into a human even though they could have had a really rough start. Found it super emotional when she gave birth. It’s like she knew she was where she was meant to be and it’s so lovely.
Pregnant cats are VERY affectionate. Even strays will quickly latch onto the first human to show them any positive interaction. I took in a stray cat who'd been avoiding capture for months and within ten minutes she was curled up on my lap. Turned out she was pregnant. It's like they seek out security and connection because they're desperate for a safe space to give birth.
Something similar happened to me, my grandfather really didn't like me feeding stray cats but one day a young Siamese cat showed up, he brought her fresh milk and opened the door of the house and she came in and stayed to this day. She looked young and slim, we took her to the vet and surprise, she was pregnant, she had a single baby that we also adopted and now she is neutered and happy with my grandparents.
Obviously not a feral; she knew humans once. Knew to go find a nice one now. She chose the right human. You did great for her. I feel such love for you and what you did for mom and kittens. I'm not a gushy girly person but that's how I feel after viewing this, so it's my present to you from a complete stranger.
I rescued a cat from my vet 10 or so years ago, sadly they do not do animal rescues anymore. She was a stray, and she is beautiful. I think she was with humans at once, because she is so loving
Mouse is a beautiful cat! I love how clever cats are - she knew she needed help with her babies, and she went out and found it. As soon as the lady gave her that first plate of food, Mouse was never leaving - she knew she was home!
That happened to me too. A pregnant cat came to my back yard 8 years ago and she got in my garage and had 4 babies the day after. I just couldn’t give them away so I still have them all with me ..
@Adela Sposito: what a fantastic, amazing human being you are for keeping all the kittens and their mother. Someone should clone you many times over. The world needs you very badly.
understandable. there was this shy, but friendly stray cat that kept visiting me, and then one day she suddenly had babies near our old barn! one of the three babies died at two weeks old, and then the mother passed away because of a car incident :( i had to take the other two in, and i got really attached to them. that was multiple months ago, and one of the kittens, now a proud teenager cat named archie, still lives with me. i probably would've kept ALL FOUR, if the mom and the kit would've survived... i'm still scarred because of the loss. but i'm happy that i get to keep archie with me, he makes me happy every day :)
My cat was also a stray who just decided to adopt us and invited himself in our house. He was severly neglected by our neighbor who was his owner and when she moved out she left him here. Now 4 years later Momo is the happiest nap machine around and we love him so much.
This is how I have 3 cats, but in my case all of them were babies that were abandon. Not all at same time one is 14 years old now, the other 2 one is 4 and the other 5 years old. If it was for me and my kids our house will be filled with furbabies.
Bless this womans heart. It makes me have hope when I see this kind of story. I'm so glad she kept the cat and I'm sure she found the best people for the kittens. So I say thank you and bless you. If only there were more like you
Ppl saying how she was probably abandoned by someone after getting pregnant that’s why she’s so friendly, she probs was desperate for a warm loving home to stay at and have her babies 😞💕 I’m so glad she took her in
Having kittens stay at home with their mom for 10-11 weeks is actually very good for their mental health. They grow up to be quite confident secure cats with the added time with mom and of course their siblings!
I'm glad she found a home and caring people. Such a cutie. Btw: Kittens always should stay at least 12 weeks or longer with their mother a/o siblings. Week 8 to 12 is the very important phase they socialize with conspecifics and learn "Cat things". This 8-week period is about dogs. I also hope this cat is now neutered. There are more than enough cats on this planet for everyone 😉.
I was kind of pleased to see that she kept the kittens longer. My own kitten had to leave her mom at 11 because she was being picked up together with her sister by some other people. Driving a good distance. So I didn't have much of a choice. She is very adorable though. Growing like crazy.
@@mikeymacuh33 In my country most of the female cats get neutered too. This includes the removal of uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. Here just spaying means only to cut the fallopian tubes so the hormone production can continue. But this makes absolutely no sense so the common practice is to neuter female cats too. Maybe it's a language issue. Maybe the term "spaying" female cats means the same in the US as "neutering" in my country. No offense!
Ikajo I had to get both my cats when they were young because one of them I got at a shelter when she was 8 weeks and the other one I caught in my backyard because her mother only took care of her siblings and she was covered in fleas, smelled awful, and I could count her ribs easily. I definitely would have preferred to get them at 12 weeks at least for their sakes. But my 9 month old cat acts like a mom to my 3.5 month old cat.
I had a beautiful ginger stray cat my Dad found. She made herself home straight away. She used to lay at the fireplace getting bigger and BIGGER....her tummy was moving...She gave birth to 4kittens Its a beautiful memory its because my Dad passed away 3months ago and they remind me of him💔❤🙏

Together wit' my own kitty-cats, I had 5 now to give food to! :) and I just love them, so adorable!
My big bro also took in a pregnant cat, that was about a year or 2 ago. Sweetest thing in the world, and we literally call her mama cat. Since we live down the street from them they always come to visit and for cuddles lol

@Cherry Lueur I guess my point is, the sort of guy who uses terminology like 'simp' is almost certainly also the sort of guy who clings to the myth of the 'alpha males', and classes himself as one of them. But yes, as you implied, these men are also usually the ones with the lowest self-esteem.
My son brought a pregnant stray home. He was around 12 years old. That cat trusted him so much that she gave birth to four kittens on his bed in the middle of the night, laid on his lap! A couple of years later, I was pregnant and on bed rest, she never left my side, other than eating and litter tray. When we brought our baby son home, she disappeared. Damn but you gotta spay/neuter them all or else you'll end up with 500 cats
This is probably why Ive had like 24 cats before.
Man she looks like a pillow, but with a lot of fur. She's adorable!
A single baby?
@@realtrickswag5986 it happens my cat had a single baby once
"she is neutered" she had testicles? girls are spayed their tubes are tied if she has her nuts cut off she wasn't a girl
@@realtrickswag5986 this happens if the cat or dog is too small, so usually they only have one baby
@@Aaron-zu3xn Neutered is for both male and female cats. The male only term is castrated.
Obviously not a feral; she knew humans once. Knew to go find a nice one now. She chose the right human. You did great for her. I feel such love for you and what you did for mom and kittens. I'm not a gushy girly person but that's how I feel after viewing this, so it's my present to you from a complete stranger.
the title says stray not feral
They have a way of knowing who will protect them
I rescued a cat from my vet 10 or so years ago, sadly they do not do animal rescues anymore. She was a stray, and she is beautiful. I think she was with humans at once, because she is so loving
Totally agree. A lot of people don’t spay their cats and then dump them pregnant 😢
@@galaxyrinula5841 definitely a Surprise Pikachu Face moment
Mouse is a beautiful cat! I love how clever cats are - she knew she needed help with her babies, and she went out and found it. As soon as the lady gave her that first plate of food, Mouse was never leaving - she knew she was home!
Cats are more clever than we give them credit for. In fact, my aunt often said her calico cat is too clever for her own good.🐱😋🎓❤
She doesent even meow during baths that is my dream cat
I think that was the sign that this cat absolutely needed care. Most are hydrophobic, but Mouse was in dire straits.
LOL 🤣🤣🤣 Sounds like you are sick of that

My cat likes baths-
That happened to me too.
@@guesswho4555 exactly!
Fantastic!!!
Hey….I would totally do the same!!!!!!!! I would not be able to give ANY away!!!
understandable.
there was this shy, but friendly stray cat that kept visiting me, and then one day she suddenly had babies near our old barn! one of the three babies died at two weeks old, and then the mother passed away because of a car incident :( i had to take the other two in, and i got really attached to them. that was multiple months ago, and one of the kittens, now a proud teenager cat named archie, still lives with me. i probably would've kept ALL FOUR, if the mom and the kit would've survived... i'm still scarred because of the loss. but i'm happy that i get to keep archie with me, he makes me happy every day :)
My cat was also a stray who just decided to adopt us and invited himself in our house. He was severly neglected by our neighbor who was his owner and when she moved out she left him here. Now 4 years later Momo is the happiest nap machine around and we love him so much.
Aww I wish the best for you and him 🥰☺️😃
MOMO!
Mother and children are absolutely beautiful.
I love these kind of people who take in stray, helpless animals and help them without a second thought. I wish to strive to be this kind of person.
This is how I have 3 cats, but in my case all of them were babies that were abandon. Not all at same time one is 14 years old now, the other 2 one is 4 and the other 5 years old. If it was for me and my kids our house will be filled with furbabies.
She didnt take in the stray. Theres no choice.
Actually i don't want to take a animal because i am not responsible, and i don't want to rely my parent's for money
Hi
You can be!! :) whether it’s big or small contributions. They all mean something to these sweet animals 🖤🖤
Mouse knew just who would take care of her and her kittens. Wonderful couple finding forever homes for the kittens and adopting Mama Mouse!
Bless this womans heart. It makes me have hope when I see this kind of story. I'm so glad she kept the cat and I'm sure she found the best people for the kittens. So I say thank you and bless you. If only there were more like you
Hello
Ppl saying how she was probably abandoned by someone after getting pregnant that’s why she’s so friendly, she probs was desperate for a warm loving home to stay at and have her babies 😞💕 I’m so glad she took her in
Maybe she ran out because she was in heat in need for a male cat !
Having kittens stay at home with their mom for 10-11 weeks is actually very good for their mental health.
They grow up to be quite confident secure cats with the added time with mom and of course their siblings!

I'm sure as much as she loves mouse she got her spayed. (Gently just saying neutering is for males and spaying is for females)
No offense!
@@birtehansen3053 Scandinavia? :)

It's near-universally used by self-titled 'alpha males' - a term which has nothing to do with biology and everything to do with toxic masculinity)
Just not sure what the hell that has to do with anything.

It was like she had repaid my kindness and her job was done. I still miss her, but at least we kept one of her kittens.
Kudos to all those who give stray cats a home. Really admirable.
We only adopt rescue kitties. We've never been disappointed with the kitties we've adopted, well worth it. Kitties that adopted me turned out to me the best kitties, they know what it's like to be alone and scared.
