First Impressions of Malaysia! Kuala Lumpur is *Amazing*

- It's our first time in Malaysia and we couldn't be more excited to be exploring Kuala Lumpur! Our first impression of Kuala Lumpur is that this city far exceeded our expectations! Malaysia's mega city has so much diversity that tourists like us can't run out of things to do. To get a solid first impression of Kuala Lumpur we visited some of the biggest tourist destinations in the city. We started off our city exploring with a visit to the Batu Caves. The Batu Caves are a place of worship for Hindu's that has been built right into a karst with rainbow-painted stairs leading all the way to the mouth of the cave. It is a beautiful place to visit, whether you are a practicing Hindu or not.
The majority of Malaysian's are Muslim, so our second stop was Masjid Wilayah which is said to be the most beautiful mosque in all of Kuala Lumpur. Masjid Wilayah offers free tours of the building, and we absolutely loved going around with our guide and learning about the mosque and what Islam means to Malaysians. If you are planning a visit to Malaysia, we highly recommend you spend a few hours at Masjid Wilayah to learn more about how religion has impacted the country.
Next up was Mico's favourite part of our itinerary - going to the Petronas Towers Observation Deck! Mico loves city scapes, so going up to the observation deck and eventually to the top of the Petronas Towers has been on his bucketlist for ages, and we finally did it! The views of Kuala Lumpur from the top of the Petronas Towers was wild
We popped into Kuala Lumpur's Central Market to get our first taste of Malaysian food (holy smokes was it good!) and then made our way to the River of Life to see the beautiful mural and meeting of two rivers right in the heart of the city. Then we made our way on foot to Merdeka Square (Independence Square) where many beautiful government and historic building circle the public square. Our first day in Malaysia went so well, and we are super excited for our upcoming Malaysian food tour here in Kuala Lumpur!

Hey there! We are Nicole and Mico and in March 2021, we quit our jobs, sold our belongings, and began traveling the world! I didn’t know how modernised Kuala Lumpur was, it’s as modern as Europe or North America ✌️❤️🇬🇧
Such a cool and vibrant city :)
✌️😁🇲🇾♥️🇬🇧🇺🇲🇨🇦
Are you honest in this compliment?
If yes, thank you a lot 👍🏻
Around the end of the 80s, there were still people in some western countries who thought Malaysians were still living on trees, whereas at that time, development had been going on for a long time. 😅😶🌫️
@@AhmadZakiVisionthey still do
Semoga dalam masa 10 tahun ada perubahan lebih banyak. Slowly slowly change everything

Borneo is definitely on our bucket list!
I love claypot rice... you should try claypot yee mee with mushroom too.. I used to eat it at the food court in KLCC but you might be able to get it in any other food court too. You should also try mee kolok..
welcome here
Authentic malaysian food is a must 🤗
Great tourist selfies! You really seem to love filming and totally focusing on yourselves when visiting here. Also adding music. Okey I guess KL itself maybe not so interesting for you?
Still, welcome (maybe just a cultural thing....)
KL was amazing! What do you mean focussing on ourselves? We really enjoyed making this vlog to tell more people about Malaysia :)
What are you ranting about, it's theirs vlog and style. Some do voice over and some showing them talking.. So what?
Sultan is like the president for us, we got 9 if not mistaken and the highest ranking amongst them are reffered as Agong which mean Supreme, the more you know! Love your energy and positivity by the way!❤
welcome to malaysia
Thank you!
Greater KL region or known as Klang Valley has population of 9mil! KL by itself about 2mil.
Wooooow it's such a big city! Thank you for sharing the population of the Klang Valley, that's so helpful to know!
@@nicoleandmico Yes, that's KL city center and the surrounding regions. It's about 9mil people now. You should venture to other surrounding areas too, you can take Grab, MRT or other public transport. Lots to do, explore.
Welcome
Hey guys , love your videos … which month did you visit KL and how was the weather … looking to book my next trip to Malaysia but undecided on which month would be best between June and August due to rain
If you study the historical metropolis during the Islamic Empire, during the likes of Abbasiyah or Ottoman empire, then you get the idea of what Kuala Lumpur is all about. During that era, religions all around the world are celebrated and so are here in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Anyways, welcome guys to the futuristic Baghdad (800 CE) or Al Andalus (Old Spain)...called Kuala Lumpur.
So much cool and interesting history. Thanks for the info!
@@nicoleandmico no worries, oh here is the short story of Andalusia during the glory day of Islam, and this is what we are trying to achieve. I thank you guys for exploring our Kuala Lumpur and now from you guys, the world now knew how evil and despicable Islam is. ☺️

👍👍👍👍
The one thing im pretty stumped about was that you could not find any coffee in KLCC. But perhaps u were rushing for the appointment. This wasnt one of my fave videos from u guys.. but Nicole u look gorgeous in that outfit in the mosque!
We were in a rush to make it to our time slot! But we got a coffee in the mall after we came down the tower :)
👌👍
19:46 yo bro! what is sultan building??? never heard before.... 😂😂 greetings from Malaysia, Johor State, Johor Bahru City
They meant the Sultan Abdul Samad Building which was built by the British for their administration office. It has been used by the different Malaysian ministries/departments & was once a Hight court which conducted certain high profile cases. Now, it is used as offices for the Ministry of Information, Communication & Culture.
At 13.05, the buildings in the middle with the bright yellow roof blades....our apartment is in there 😂
That is so cool!
Hi guys.. Nicole looks so beautiful when she wears a hijab covering her hair like a saint. Anyway, hope u're satisfied with visiting KL, the capital City of Malaysia is the Truly Asia....👍
Normally Malaysian stay indside the malls for free air con.Welcome to 🇲🇾
Welcome to Malaysia . And the sweating? Its a good exercise - you could skip going to gym for the next few weeks.
I really adore you guys made some homework on where to go, when to go, what to do and how to go. Good job!.
And Nicole ...you look really beautiful wearing the dress in the mosque . Its like you changed into a totally different person.
And Petronas actually stands for Petroleum Nasional (National).
As with the malay language - its very simple and straight forward. Almost one-to-one translation from English , though different arrangement.
Thanks so much! We really enjoyed making this vlog! Kuala Lumpur is just amazing :)
Sultan abdul samad building right in front of merdeka sq.
To enjoy travelling in Malaysia more, talk and ask the locals. You will notice that almost all of them are helpful and friendly .
. However, your chances to meet the local is only 75%. ABOUT 9 MILLIONS foreigner working in Malaysia especially in low wage jobs.
I think only 2 or 3 million foreign workers here. How you come to this 9 millions.
@@joejunior861 OK , the following is the breakdown of foreign worker. About 3.2 millions of legal Indonesian workers, , about 3.0 millions are legal Bangladesh workers, about 1.7 millions legal workers from Pakistan, Nepal, India, Thailand, Philipines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Sri Langka, Myanmar plus otothers. THE REST are illegal workers from Indonesia, Philippine, Bangladesh, Rohinnga, .So total is almost 9 millions.
THAT DO NOT INCLUDE professional expatriate, digital nomads and foreign retiree who are actually setting up business in Malaysia
@amiryazidali7659
Broooo where the HELL you got them numbers from?? 3 million Bangladeshi?? Are you insane??
Geezz get ur numbers right buddy
@@bluesky842 Why do you dispute? Do have other figires ?
✌️😁🇲🇾♥️🇺🇲🇨🇦
May I know what ride did you take going to and out of Batu Caves? Thank you and stay safe always
Hey there! We just used Grab which was really affordable
Do you that the first people arrived in states are Malays, in year 800, via the Russian - Alaskan route? Malays are technically the aborigines of US.
Batu is also the name of the area
Great to know thanks!
Believe it or not, Unesco was unhappy with the painted staircase. So no unesco world heritage award.
Petronas mean petrol national(in malay Nasional)
you didn't go to the park behind the petronas towers..
That’s not a temple actually, that’s Jamek mosque 😄🙌🏼
Actually Masjid Negara ..The Jamek Mosque is near Dataran Merdeka
Good to know, thank you!
I guess it’s JUST like Winnipeg which means Muddy Waters….just like…😂
Its not temple...it is the oldest mosque in KL. Fyi Malaysia is islamic country
Actually, Malaysia is not an Islamic country - it is a secular country that is predominantly Muslim. There's a difference. Islam is the official religion of the Federation only, not Malaysia as a whole. Malaysian states like Sabah and Sarawak do not have an official religion. Therefore, it is incorrect to say that Malaysia is an Islamic country, because it is not.
@@msl1689
It is an Islamic country that practices secularism as it's political structure that's why sabah and sarawak don't have any official religion but the official religion if the whole federation is Islam
After those monkeys in India I hope you didn’t have any food in Kuala Lumpur ✌️❤️🇬🇧much love
We will have a TON of food in the next video. Malaysian food is out of this world!
Go to petronas merchandise second last level in mall KLCC have 2 car F1 inside mall
Wow, thanks for the tip!
Ph ia a slum country bro...
Melanie of "the next adventure" or "the.yellow.princess" said KL reminds her of Toronto her hometown.
