- The death of Capital STEEZ in 2012 is surrounded by mystery and many conspiracy theories. STEEZ was the founder of the rap group Pro Era and collaborated with Joey Bada$$ on their breakout track Survival Tactics. Steelo was very spiritually focused and towards the end of his life, it became hard for those around him to understand certain beliefs that he carried.

Good to see STEEZ still being talked about and recognized 47Shit
Long live steelo 🖤
Fr rip king steelo
He was ahead of his time, a real MC not these industry plants we have now Long live steelo
Rip
I believe there was more to his death than just a “47” symbol. he could had some kind of mental health issue maybe depression that no one knew about or some other kind of problem he might had been going through. the day of his death is interesting knowing the dates add up to 47 which is weird & that he was clenching a bible to his chest but we won’t actually know for sure. he had some great traccs & was very lyrical compared to everyone else in the group. R.I.P steez 47 4 lyfe 🕊️
people say the day of his death adds up to 47 but he died on the 24th
Finally some recognition
So sad man
what if steelo was about to be sacrificed by joey, but hid as mike the entire time

He didn’t jump he was thrown off as a sacrifice
Rest in paradise Capital Steez i really wish he was here bro its so sad, his music still gives me chills❤️👼🏿😢
Long live steelo 🖤👑
He was also smoking weed, taking psychedelics, and constantly immersing himself in spirituality, especially the 47 philosophy. All of that could have affected his mental state in ways we may never fully understand.
“The end” was just the beginning, king. Capitalize RIP faeva ✊🏽

I was just talking to my friend about Steelo. I said that I think given time, and a community that fosters love and openness to share your vulnerabilities, he'd still be with us. And I know the same could be said for countless others. Yeah he got caught up in some weird stuff and on top of that probably had some mental issues. But the kid was only 19 years old. I thought some wacky stuff at that age too. Not to say all spirituality is wacky, just his obsession with 47 and Baphomet and whatnot. The young man was a genius and he just needed time to figure stuff out. To all the young people out there, talk to your friends. And ask them how they're doing. Young men especially cuz I know we're taught to hold that shit in. It takes strength to let it out, and it takes strength to receive it. We can do it y'all 💪 one love ❤️
💔
It’s crazy that he’s been dead for over a decade now. I was like fourteen when I found his music.
I was 17. Life ain't waiting for nobody bro.

Does was Steez paranoia justified ? I always was attracted to the 747 numbers myself , it’s crazy
Joey badass kinda talked about his mental state recently in a single recently right before he dropped his album. The guy wasn't right.
It definitely seems like he struggled with his mental health. I feel like there wasn’t much discussion around that topic at that time. Sad stuff fr
Maybe Steez was using kratom.. Wouldn't surpise me.
Capital Steez was definitely a blood sacrifice for Joe Badass. He pushed off the roof, just like Lady Gaga's best friend, Lina Morgana, was pushed off a roof. He definitely didn't commit suicide. Capital Steez was too woke for the music industry, which was why Cinematic Records didn't want to push his career. Old Dirty Bastard being too woke is the reason he was the only member from the Wu-Tang Clan who taken out! Eerily, Capital Steez was starting to resemble Jacob "Killer" Miller during the early stages of converting into Rastafarianism. Everyone in Jamaica knows Bob Marley and Christopher Blackwell had something to do with Jacob Miller's passing.
IM NOT ALONE THX BRO
This guy gets it
This
Wait I never of heard of him found dead with a bible
Yeah it’s pretty sad
rip steez
Would've liked to here the finished product "can't explain/I don't know what to say)
Capital STEEZ ripped hell outta ALL CAPS instrumental… R.I.P
Whats tragic is him wearing a baphomet t shirt yet at the end of his life strapped a bible to his chest
If you see what is behind him gabriel and ariel two archangels he was giving the finger to the club in his own way he was very clever
That last picture/slide when u introduce Cj fly ,that’s not Cj that’s another yet another photo of Kurk night
Yeah I messed that up, my bad for sure. Thanks for pointing it out
I came here after seeing a comment on Justified by Jeury. The commenter was right! This guy needs his own episode! RIP Capital Steez💚💜
One thing I found out is that Dec 22 is the day steeZ made that one Joey diss someone I know asked dirty about steeZ’s last days back in 2016 since him and steeZ were tight since high school and dirty was in the studio with him that day
Deadass? He recorded a joey diss?
Last straw?
@@7cheland I think its more just frustration because joey is getting the recognition and not him..

Why all my heroes dead?!?
Would love to see you see do a video on 6 dogs bro
Love the idea dude. He might be my favorite artist of our generation. That’s a new goal to put that together if I can do it tastefully.
@@chef0335Hey bro I’d actually love to help you put it together because I kept up with chase and was a personal friend of his. I also run his fan community and archive so I can give u a lot of background details regarding his come up, family and also facts surrounding his passing because there is a lot of speculation around it. Chase seemed very happy and excited to release his album Ronald and he would go up to a building to watch the stars at night, in the Burberry music video you can see him up on the rooftops. People framed his death as him taking his life but in reality he seemed to be doing well and had sent his album Ronald to distributors already
So talented, like Donny Hathaway. Tragic and early deaths. Mental health and the stress- very similar stories.
50 and nas are from queens lmao
I remember all this shit unfolding way back then. Absolutely sucks, Steez was incredible.
Thank you for this video man!
My pleasure! I hope you enjoyed watching 🖤
2:40 what’s the name of the song?
School High by pro era
Song at 2:41 ?
School high - Joey badass
The last good underground hip hop came out in the 2010s dude was born in my year.. remembering being a fan when he was alive 😢
NaS and 50 are from Queens not from Brooklyn...btw
CJ Fly picture, please T.T
I know bro, my bad…
Rip steelo, this video is copied almost word for word from A burnt lightskin tho
Sad symbolism for Steez to jump from cmg building cuz them pushing joey over pro era was what pushed steez over the edge. I just wish human emotion doesn’t allow even very intelligent people to think out of the present. I feel like steez would have known with his message it would be extremely hard to break out and become popular the media wouldn’t push it as we saw
if you believe what pushed him over the edge was his friends success you`re naive
@@bobbytill JOEY PROBABLY SACRIFCED HIM THATS WHY HES AS BIG AS HE IS NOW AND NO OTHER PE RAPPER IS EVEN CLOSE
I always wonder about all the good music he'd have dropped by now if he was still here ❤ R.I.P. Steez

Joey badass sacrifice capital STEEZ for fame
One of the rappers that got me into American rap... was so sad when I realized he is no longer with us.
This video hits hard but good that he is talked about

rest in peace capital steeze
Okay but the example tweet for his “incoherent spiritual tweets” does make sense and it’s a bar
A shame he was really talented clearly one of the cleanest mcs of the group

That was a pic of Kirk when you said Cj Flyy 🤦♂️
You’re right 😭 that’s my bad… I had so many photos on my desktop and must have dropped in the wrong one.
U shoulda did some more reasearch before this bro it’s all off
Like what? I’m always a fan of constructive criticism when someone’s able to articulate it
Yeah, I also don't get what this guy mean by off. It's like the same narrative throughout the years ever since STEEZ left us; with a little conspiracy here and there of course. I'm just glad someone made a video about him though. Reminding me that I'm not the only one who's still actively remembering him. A big loss for Hip-hop indeed. Truly an artist. A revolutionist just like Pac... R.I.P STEELO!
@@chef0335 Lmao didnt even name one thing! Good job bro. Don't worry. Everyone makes mistakes. Especially when you're starting.

Sacrificed for Joey, but most fans won’t ever admit it
people go through shit bro..and joey was always the more popular one what tf would he have to sacrifice steez for steez was pro era
livethrume 🔭
He was different man, not bound by physical chains but by spiritual , he was in tune with something greater , I always assumed he was probably dealing with undiagnosed Schizophrenia, or maybe he just was so detached from the earthly realm he drifted into a spiritual one , but one thing I do know is he was different, I never got to meet u jamal but I love u man and I wish you were able to spend more time with us , I hope the lord shows mercy and you’re under his wing flying soaring in peace as you always wanted , you are truly an icon to those that felt ur energy and I will guarantee to spread your art through my son and show him how u were one of the greatest, hope you up there with dumile spitting the rawest shit , peace be to u brother and thank u for sharing ur magic with the world LONG LIVE KING STEELO 4L straight 47 shit till I die peace and love …. Also American kouruption was way better then 1999 Tf were they thinking
Also idk if I’m creating false memories but I think I recall something about his father dealing with similar mental issues , something about killing yourself to shed your earthly body and become part of the greater cosmic energy and it was something that he believed … don’t quote me on that but essentially a ritualistic suicide
