This is my reaction to Morgonsoffan - Den Fördomsfria Killen (Björn Gustafsson | Swedish Satire)
In this video I react to Swedish satire from Morgonsoffan which I believe is a Swedish comedy parody of a television morning show. This scene is called Den Fördomsfria Killen and features Swedish comedian Björn Gustafsson

Björn Gustafsson rose to stardom very quickly when he was about 20 and became the hit of every big swedish television show. He got burned out after a few short years and just came back to comedy/acting a few years back. The man is brilliant!

Morgonsoffan was pretty brutal and kind of blunt humour. But they nailed it several times and did some great characters. Björn was a nasty chef as well in the show but most funny was his potray of Benjamin who tested things.

Man I miss the comedy of the old. They were blunt and made satire about stuff that actually mattered, now it'd never fly with the crystal generations we're all in
Edit: to clarify, my references are from a Swedish perspective. I see a lot of good comedians today for sure but they'll never get this mainstream over here like back then. No need to get butthurt over my comment for not sharing the same perspectives

you talk like this aired 50 years ago. if you think jokes like these can't be made these days you need to open your eyes. look at Bo Burnham for instance, a hugely succesful comedian who isn't afraid of making jokes like these. Tim Minchin comes to mind too, one of my favourites. if you stop gloryfing the past, you'll soon realize the present offers a lot of poignant satire.

Björn Gustafsson is a great comedian. The only bad thing I can think of is that he has almost the same name as another famous Swedish actor and comedian; Björn Gustafson (Sounds exactly the same, but no double S in his last name.). So when you forget who has the double S it's hard to know who you read about and impossible when you hear the name.
Sure Björn Gustafson is 90 this year so I don't think he works much anymore, but he was still very active when the younger Björn started his career.

It is making fun of racists who claim they don't have prejudices. It would absolutely go over very well today as well. Grotesco has made similar types of humor recently and so has several other groups. It's not about the words themself its who they are exposing and making fun of. I'm guessing Mr Ola here makes racist jokes and thinks it is funny (and sodoes his brother in-law ) that is a different thing. If you can't see the difference you are not getting the joke here.

I don't even know if i see it as satire at this point. It's just a document of reality. The more you harang other people about whatever social issue, the more likely you are to harbor shite opinions on the subject, which are then readily projected on to other people. Whatever issue someone is complaining about, they always obsess over it themselves. Anti-racist? Why so obsessed about reducing everything to race? Same with most of the twitter warrior issues.
Funny and sad at the same time, because it rings so true.

    • @Eric-zz5ij
      @Eric-zz5ij 5 місяців тому

Exactly this, Especially with racism, people that preach about how bad racism is usually makes everything about race. It's like if you gave a banana to your black friend, they will think "Did he do that just because he is black and he thinks of him as a monkey?" it's so odd. Those kinds of people are usually the most intolerable to people with different opinions and beliefs as well, meanwhile I who they would probably put high on the racist scale can strike up a conversation with anyone. I don't think words alone makes you anything really, it's almost all about what actions you take, so even if I were to say the n-word hard r towards a black person, I think not hiring a black person because of their skin color is way worse, like way way worse. Words literally do nothing if you decide they do nothing. I would love to make slave jokes with a black friend and I would love if he would joke about me being a terrorist because I look middle eastern. Because it's just jokes in the end, no one cares and both realize that we none of us would want that or hold those beliefs or whatever. We joke about it because of how absurd it is.

I generally liked Morgonsoffan when it was on TV. I was around 15 years old at the time. This particular skit was a bit too on the nose for me. I disliked it a lot.
I did, however, love the segment where the intern Benjamin (a character also played by Björn) tested stuff and gave them 4 out of 5 toasters. Everything, except Segway, got 4 out of 5 toasters. I think Björn genuinely liked riding around on a Segway. The Segway got 5 out of 5 toasters.

(swe) Yeah. Anti racism is the new racism. I heard about people getting upset over a commercial with a t-shirt saying "Coolest monkey in the jungle". The reason was because it was a black man wearing it, so it seemed racist. Depending on the colour of your skin it's okay/not okay... So dumb -.-'
I think the commercial got taken down as well. Anti racism is like a double negative, but somehow it doesn't cancel out.

However, I love how the two Black guys were never asked a question, not even introduced. They just sat there as props for Björn's character (and possibly for the channel, too). Brilliant! Times have changed, to the worse in my opinion. we always had different ethnicity's in Sweden. since the 2010 we still could make jokes and we all could make fun and have a good time. not today, people get shot every day. not of that kind of stuff, but still. Imported crime is running wild here now a'days. people get shot almost every day, and bystanders get caught in the crossfire every now and then. Back in the 80' when someone got shot in Sweden ( hardly ever happened) we would go mental, until the guilty party was found, 0% unsolved murderess, to like 90% now. Is't Multiculturalism lovey!

If you haven't seen it I would recommend Robert Gustafsson (the man explaining how Finnish people get drunk) and his "Ambassador of the Nordic councel, Johan Lindström, speech" to an audience of international dignitaries, incuding the Swedish King. He speaks Swenglish in a very creative way. Making those people laugh is not easy but he's a great comedian. ua-cam.com/video/u1Spffczzwo/v-deo.html

Sad how this can't be done anymore. It's perfection, has almost become real now. Something fictional and making fun of bad people should never go away.
It's also in his voice, love his delivery. And David Batra is one of the great comedians as well.

Björn Gustafsson was one of the biggest (and most overvalued) comedians in Sweden a couple of years ago (with some even comparing him to Robert Gustafsson), but he quietly fell off over time as people grew tired of his very predictable humor...

Björn Gustafsson is the least funny person in sweden...only slight better in Ture Sventon movies
