Aviation Survival Technician Joshua Carlson lived up to the credo, "So that others may live" in his daring rescues of people in distress in U.S. coastal waters.
Being a coast gaurd rescue swimmer is probably one of the most bad ass jobs on the planet following very closely by a coast gaurd Blackhawk pilot. The reason they use Blackhawks is because no other helicopter has the lifting capacity to be able to fly them and their massive brass balls into hurricanes... so freaking bad ass
@@brandonguarrasi they rescue men fighting meaningless wars in 3rd world countries, while Coast Guard is in America(where they should be) protecting and saving American lives every single day.
@@ElGaby323yes that’s what we do 🤡 domestic operations for PJs is far greater than our overseas foot print. Harvey , sandy , titan sub, temar vessel, katrina , human space flight recovery etc . Don’t speak on what you don’t know
Josh you are part of an amazing team!!! A member of truly a unique elite few…. Congratulations!!! The love of what you do shines brightly in this interview.. Enjoyed watching… Praying for continued safety for you and your team. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you ! JOSHUA for loving your job and for all the people that you Save. MY FAMILY AND I WILL BE INCLUDING YOU IN OUR PRAYERS EVERYDAY AND EVERY NIGHT. THIS WORLD DEFINITELY NEEDS PEOPLE LIKE YOU SIR. MAY OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST ALWAYS KEEP YOU SAFE AND SOUND AND OUT OF HARM'S WAY.
Toxic masculinity - again. BTW, how did you fit 21 bodies in a 'Hawk? They must have been Central American. Any danger of "torque-ing out?" Good job from the whole team!

Well done! Be safe out there, all of you!
Bunch of Heroes!!!
Great work. Hope my son gets to meet you along the way. He just started his journey to hopefully becoming an AST.
That's incredible. These people are in the hero business.
Never let a navy boy do a Coastguard man's job. Greetings from the Washington coast. 💙⚓
Badass!!!!
Good job, with humility.
I do believe, Captain America is real. He just has black hair.

Triple Pumpkin Lat..
.Ayy
If my old gray wrinkled butt ever gets into trouble on the sea, I hope these studs show up.
I didn’t know you could fit 21 people in the back of one of those.
I think the record is 26 survivors.
How Long can you work as an Coast Guard swimmer?
Can you do this in the reserves?
🎊 Congrats Joshua ..!
I wanna do that. I heard there’s a 3 year waiting list for AST School. Is this correct?
Last I checked it was about 13-14 months on the waiting list.
@@David-oe9ytI heard two years. Hopefully 13 months is still the case
Don’t they have a prep program you go into now when you join? Is it useful? Does it actually help?
I just talked to a recruiter and I was told it's 12-16 months

The more weight you add, the more fuel you burn so it evens out.
