Know all these ingredients, didn't know about the milk bath! (& I haven't heard Chachere pronounced like that.) Prayers that you get new equipment soon!
Have a base seasoning that i use on everything i dont even have a salt and pepper shaker anymore I cup salt 1/4 cup garlic powder (not fine) 1/4 cup onion powder (not fine) 1/8 cup pepper ( i prefer freah ground). Then you just add little heat, smoke, or what ever the heck you want. And yes i will be trying that recipe as soon as i put some more slabs in the boat
Great Video. Try some ketchup, horse radish, & lemon juice . (fresh cocktail sauce ). I also use Don's chuck wagon onion ring batter with beer on inch sized fish cubes. I always have chips or fries.
Good fish doesn't need a sauce to dip in. If I want tarter sauce I'll just smear some on a peice of bread and eat it. If you need a sauce then your fish is not very good. I am well known for my fried fish and I always felt insulted when someone dipped it in tarter sauce or ketchup or anything else, don't complicate things just eat the fish and enjoy.
Great video. I really enjoyed the crappie recipe. I will be trying it this week. I have never tried it with the ingredients you used. Hopefully you will do some more cooking videos. They looked delicious
it delicious, be sure to add a little flour to the cornmeal. I have started to do this. It makes that batter thicker and it sticks to the fish better. Let me know how it goes!
NO TARTAR SAUCE NEEDED WITH CRAPPIE! Good recipe bro. Light breading, fine cornmeal, and season to your taste. However, I only use a milk bath with oily fish like spanish mackerel, but it doesn't hurt.
Sounds tasty, if you’ll batter the fish and then let them sit about 15-20 minutes on a wire rack before frying it’ll improve the batter. My father in law also batters his fries before frying and if you put one on top of your head your tongue will beat your brains out trying to get it.
Just dropped by to let you know I tried your recipe today. It came out spectacular! My first time cooking and first time eating crappie as we just moved to a lakeside house a few months ago. I've been catching 4-6lb blue catfish and they are tasty! What's your opinion on cooking/eating fresh water lake large mouth bass? We're in middle Georgia. Thanks!
Thanks for watching brother and that’s awesome at trying! I have never ate largemouth bass! And honestly I don’t plan to. However, I would definitely just try the same recipe with the bass as well. It should turn out just fine! Thanks for the support! God bless
Essentially how I do my fish. Maybe 360 degrees for 7 minutes though. My mouth is watering. This is the only way to cook fish if you ask me. Maybe some homemade hush puppies with chopped green onions and a little garlic powder in them.
@903fishing Bro I love this recipe. I definitely recommend trying those other 2 fish. I think you would like them. I'd also need to try this Tony's seasoning you showed. I'm obsessed with fish frying at the moment, I'm binging recipes on UA-cam😅
What causes my crappie to be mushy. I drain them just like you. Are they overcooked or undercooked? I usually cook them in the deep fryer for around 3-4 minutes. Thanks for the recipe.
Hmmm. Have they been mushy after you thawed them out? They can typically happen after they have been in the freezer to long. What temperature are you cooking them?
@@903fishing They have been frozen in water since I caught them last month. I thawed them in the refrigerator for three days. I deep fry them at 350 for about 3-4 minutes until they float.
@@sowabunga I wouldn’t let them thaw for 3 days brother. That might be your problem. The day you went to cook them, or the night before, put them in hot water in the sink and cook that day!
Was wondering if the fish is coming out the milk that it soaked in for 3 hours to remove impurities and then coated! Or was the soaking milk tossed and the bowl in the middle that has milk in it was used to dip and coated in cornmeal?
Nice man! I have heard about the mustard binder! I don’t like mustard but yeah I was told that it doesn’t make it taste like mustard at all! Just mental on my part lol

Well you want to wash them off after soaking in milk, you want to get those impurities that the milk brought out for the fillets. Thanks for watching! God bless!
I soak them in milk for a few hours, even over night sometimes. Milk will get all the impurities out and make the fish cleaner. So you want to clean the fillets from that milk. Then I use new milk as the binder! Thanks for watching! God bless
@@903fishing oh. I just pour the water I have them setting in overnight off of them and cut them up and put straight into the fish fry mixture and then in the oil
