Looking good, Lisa! You’ve got a pretty good size mud room. If you can find room for a boot tray and a couple of lower hooks, you’ll be all set. I like the navy curtains and the chair. Very functional, which is what mud rooms are for.
Love the mud room. Only thing I would do different is to have coat hooks at kid level as well so they can hang their own stuff up. Love the dyed drop cloths as curtains!

We LOVE our mud room. It was great when the kids were little and now that they are older it’s great to dry off the dog on a snowy/rainy day. Now I couldn’t imagine a house without one! Ours has slate floors original to our 1920’s Tudor and they show no dirt at all. Love what you are doing and how thoughtfully you are approaching this project.
That room will keep your home so much cleaner. Love what you have done.

I agree with the many comments on a coat rack lower for the kids, like most kids, it will be “stop, drop and run” and there the coat is on the floor. But I am sure your head is swirling with stuff that needs to get done.

as to your 2 sets of windows, I have seen on tv rehab shows that up north the 100 + houses, would have what they called storm windows or winter windows. They would take them off in the spring and store them. A green solution for 100 years ago, and to really, if you can't afford double or triple pane windows. You just keep making that beautiful house even more so!!!!!!

The room looks great. You are going to love it. I hope you will be able to remove some or all of the storm windows in Spring and Summer. A nice breeze coming into the kitchen ..... It makes my heart beat faster! Also it will make it easier to hear the kids if you are working in the kitchen and they are playing. I have 10 windows in my sunroom.

When you mentioned swimsuits for the summer, I thought that if you add a rod and a curtain in front of the opening to that area where the black chair is, you could have some privacy, and could create a changing room within your mud room. It looks great! I love the wreath on the inside.

Gorgeous, I love it! One suggestion that I think would really help with the function is to put some hooks down where the kids can reach to hang costs, snow pants, and beach towels. We use a part of our garage as a mud room and hooks for the kids are so helpful!
In summer, those totes will be great to store bubbles, sidewalk chalk, magnifying glasses, bird and plant ID books, etc!
