I saw it heading from the 6 line to the 7 line to inspect the track cause 3 trains derailed one due to a broken switch and another one over shot at a Hudson yards while the train behind it was caused by operator error he drove past a red signal and wasn't able to stop in time

Off peak as in Midday, I remember one time my 3 train was going super slow along the 7th Avenue line thanks to this car. The 1 was even faster.

I saw one when I was transfering fro the 7 line to the c at times square.
Seems like it shouldn't be too difficult or expensive to add sensors to every single train to check track geometry continuously?
