Thank you for watching and happy styling!
Sarah
Your reaction to the final look made me laugh so much! You can really see the difference it makes compared to last week's look. Would love to see a video where you do half a face summer and half a face winter.
I know it was so bad 🙈Glad you liked it! Keep an eye out for the half summer/half winter look!
Excellent suggestion!!!! That’s great!
@@sarahryanthestylecoachI’d like to see that too.
@@sarahryanthestylecoachI think you applied it really well, even so!
Thanks for being brave and sharing this - we could tell you weren’t happy! As an autumn, this gave me some lovely warm-toned make up tips, so your pain was not in vain!
Glad to hear you got some tips and it wasn't in vain 😅
A couple of my friends once decided they were going to "warm me up." I let them. Then they stood back and kind of "hmmm'd." Never offered again.
Love this! Well that is a sure sign to stick with your cool colours! :)
😂😂😂😂😂❤
This was me. I kept my original UD Naked palette for like 15 years because I loved warm tones. I couldn’t get rid of it. Gosh all this time I wasn’t looking my best wearing the wrong tones. Ugh. I finally tossed it after I had the realization that I’m cool toned!!!
You look so pretty with your cool toned makeup!! It looked so natural, radiant and youthful.
Thank you Jackie! Glad to hear you tossed the warm tones. I hold on to mine just to show clients what they should/shouldn't be looking for when I do colour consultations. I think this is the last time I'll put those warm colours on my face!
This ‘wrong’ makeup video further highlights that your channel’s purpose (separate to the professional service you provide) is a much needed community service. Thank you for all your wonderfully informative videos 🙏🏼
My pleasure. I am so glad you are enjoying the channel. Thank you!
I loved your comment "Once you see your best colors, you can't unsee them." So very true. As a makeup artist, I also understand the "shudder" you felt when applying colors that don't work with your cool undertoned skin--especially since I also have a cool undertone. It was so hard seeing the anguish you felt as you created this look and I bet it felt wonderful when you removed those colors! Choosing the right foundation, blush and lipstick color for our undertone really makes such a dramatic difference as well. It would be really interesting to see a summer makeup look on one side and a winter makeup look on the other side.
I love how creative and informative your videos ok colour analysis are!! Thank you for sharing 🥰
Thank you so much! 😊
Would love to see a summer vs winter makeup video
Watch this space!
Yes please for the cool summer look
Ok keep an eye out for it! :)
OMG great idea!!! I always want to see someone demonstrating oppositional colors❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Great job. The warm colours make you look sallow, washed out and tired. The power of makeup in reverse!
Yes! Thank you! Glad you saw the disconnect! :)
Ya the decade of warm eyeshadow palettes is best left in the past for me. Give me a true neutral to cool toned one and I’m happy.
Me too Kim! :)
Omg this is exactly the video I was looking for!
Great to hear! ☺️
I’d love videos that show off what you’d recommend for each season! I also do like the idea of doing one half summer one half winter etc. So we can really compare the differences and why they matter! Thanks for the amazing content! 💜✨
Great idea!!
this is incredible!! thanks for this video! i have warm undertones and a bunch of different eyeshadows (cool and warm) and it's super fun to just play around and put all the cool colors on my face. for some reason it feels very scandalous. your "oh no" when applying the yellow is my reaction to putting a blue-based pastel shade on my face. lol
my favorite eyeshadow palettes that I use are the ABH modern renaissance and the juvia's place warrior II palette (both look similar to the hot fire palette you used), so it's super interesting seeing those "comfortable" shades for me in a new context.
excited for the next one Sarah!
Thanks for watching! I've never heard of those brands before, I wonder if we have them here in Ireland. I'll look out for them :)
I can totally see what you mean that it brings out the yellow in your skin and emphasizes the dark circles under your eyes. But I still like the eye look, even though I prefer the cool tones in your previous video. It’s just interesting to see how some make-up creators on UA-cam who are winters or summers try to pull looks together without considering their undertones. Yet, it also seems like the make-up industry caters more to spring and summer seasons.
Yeah the lipstick totally threw it off 😅 the eyes not so bad
I agree! 😀@@sarahryanthestylecoach
Thank you for doing this warm tone and the other video with cool tones. I just started getting really into Color Analysis, because my makeup wasn't looking good and I couldn't understand why. My kids have grown up and I have more time now to spend on myself. I started getting back into makeup after 20 years and I have spent a lot of money on makeup and my makeup still wasn't looking good, something was always off. I can not use bronzer all of them makes me look awful and weird, and I didn't know why. Then I learned after much research on Color Analysis, I'm a Winter which is cool toned.
Wonderful! Delighted you have more ‘you’ time now and you are spending your money wisely ☺️💕
You are giving great advice for both warm and cool tones. Loved it and laughed as I regonised myself. Keep up this great content. Looking forward to your next upload.
Thanks Lynn! What would you like to see next?
@@sarahryanthestylecoachwould love to see the half and half makeup on a warm and cool toned person and then the final look with the correct colour for both and stunning hair and clothes the full package
YAAAAAAAY!!!🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Thank you, Sarah 😊❤
No, thank you!!! :)
There are cool toned gold eye shadow . I where those and taupe . Love purples too
Sounds nice!
Great video! I really applaud your bravery because obviously you weren’t feeling that look 😂! Yes I can see clearly the disconnect between the makeup and you. How can we look at ourselves objectively and see if something works or doesn’t work? I can see on others but myself I just can’t piece it together. I think part of it is that I have worn certain colors for so long that maybe they feel right when they aren’t and having bias over colors because we want those to work. Objectively how do we learn to say no 😂
Great question. It is definitely harder to be objective with ourselves than others. Look back at some photos of yourself and try to figure out when looked and felt your best. You can learn a lot by doing this :)
Yes, please do videos about makeup for different seasons!
Yes I agree, always keep an open mind. If you go into an analysis with all these pre-conceived ideas of what a Summer/Winter/Autumn/ Spring should look like we are closing ourselves off to other possibilities and not really analysing what is in front of us.
Hi Sarah, New Subscriber here. I've been enjoying your advice and tips in your videos. I believe I'm a winter color and cool toned. I purchased a cool foundation and it's amazing how it just melts right in. I use to wear a neutral foundation and it still brought out yellow tones on my face but in a bad way lol
Welcome!! Glad to hear you are finding what works for you! Thanks for being here!
Hi! I think that since you're naturally pretty, the warm makeup didn't look too bad on you (except for the lipstick). But compared to the cool toned vid, you looked much better there - and we always want to look great! I'd love to see a half summer/ half winter face too. Cheers! 👍🏼🥂💐
Oh thank you!
your nails are so vibrant! love that color on you!
Oh thank you!
Honestly Sarah, it's not that terrible on camera, I think because you currently have a bit of a tan. But it's true that once you're used to do your makeup in the right undertone you can't unsee how wrong the other undertone can go 🙈
Exactly, Once you know, you never look back! :)
Agree that it's not horrible. Although not optimal - except for the lippie at the end - it was not nearly as bad as Sarah kept professing.
I agree It’s not that bad Sarah 😅 but would you be able to show us Winters how to go about creating a nude looks? (If that makes any sense lol)
@@tigrezz0852I would love this too
This was super educational! It really does matter, doesn’t it? It’s so wonderful to put your make up on, knowing that you have the right colors for you so you don’t have to keep looking in the mirror all day long to make sure that things haven’t gone wacko. I do want to say that it didn’t look as terrible as you probably thought it did. Can you comment on whether someone who is a bright winter would be able to wear slightly warmer colors more easily than a cool winter? I seem to be able to push the envelope a little bit warm colors, but certainly cannot wear orange or gold. So work on me, and dusty mobs, but anything with too much red in it isn’t good either.
Thank you. Yes, all of these qualities are spectrums, so while a bright winter is on the cool side, some colours will overlap with its warmer sister season ☺️💙
I'm also cool! I used to loveee wearing copper eyeshadow because it made my blue eyes stand out! Looking back, I think the only reasonI was able to pull that off without looking terrible is because I wore so much foundation that you couldn't even tell what my true coloring was haha! I'm a light summer and I love to do a lilac eyeshadow now to bring out the blue in my eyes without overwhelming me :) This is all so interesting and everything you said about never going back to 'bad' colours is so true. Looking forward to more videos from you, but happily bingewatching the ones you already have up for now!
It makes such a difference right?! Happy to have you here. Enjoy the channel! :)
Yeah, unfortunately I was trying for the longest time to wear lipsticks that had an orange hue because I thought I had warm undertones. When I look at photos of myself during that era, I cringe. I loved your reaction to your lipstick!
The lipstick was the worst 🙈
It may not be your colors but you are still beautiful! Thank you❤!
Aw that is very kind, thank you Magda!
Thanks anyways for the video, you look always lovely, even i these colours😊
Oh thank you! You are very kind ☺️💕
I used to get so frustrated with myself when doing my make-up, because it would start out great with the foundation but then once my cheeks and eyes were done, I looked dirty. So then I'd just keep applying concealer to the "dirty" spots... Now I know -- I was using warm blush (in the summer) and warm eye shadow. Ugh never again!
Although, I still struggle with finding the right foundation... I'm cool undertones, but I have a slightly yellow/neutral overtone. Would love more guidance on this!
Ah lovely! I hope you enjoy your analysis! :)
Thank you for doing this. I definitely can see what you mean about it not looking in harmony with your colouring. However, you still do look pretty good! But yes, very effective to see this.
Thanks for watching!
The tragic look on your face post-lipstick was priceless! 😂 Thanks so much!
Haha I just couldn't hide it!
Hii I watched both your makeup videos cool and warm. I believe I have neutral skin leaning warm. Should I always go warm, neutral or can I do both cool and warm?
It's hard to say without having seen your skin but if you say you are neutral warm then I would go with neutral warm. Warm might be too yellow.
what nail polish are you wearing? looks gorgeous on you
Oh thank you. I can’t remember the name but it is Shellac and a light mint green!
I’m very cool toned. The only time I was able to achieve the bronze goddess look and earth tones or neutrals was when I was going to the tanning bed and changed my hair color. When I went back to natural hair color and stopped tanning, I could wear only cool tones. I can wear a medium to dark brown liner as long as I use a jewel toned shadow. The only brown shadow I can use is one with a gray hue, sort of pewter. Otherwise, I look like I have the flu or didn’t sleep.
I actually like the eyeshadow. Waiting for the rest.
What did you think of the final look?
The eyeshadow looks good, just go for a neutral lip shade. Warm eye makeup on cool toned everything else looks edgy and unique 😊
I always think cool toned people in warm makeup look clownish. It’s very obviously lacking harmony. Seems less clownish when a warm toned wears cool (it’s not great but not so obviously off).
Also I’d love to see a seasonal makeup application. Maybe you could get a warm toned to model autumn/spring?
I also think warm eye makeup on cool toned people makes them look like they have some kind of eye infection.
Great idea. I am not a make up artist though, so it would be tricky to get people to go on UA-cam with poorly applied make up :)
If your neutral can you theoretically pull off both cool or warm makeup?!
There's different views on people being neutral. I am of the opinion that you are leaning warm or cool ever so slightly so I would look for what looks best.
Just something I’m wondering, if anyone knows the answer…If you are a cool toned person why do you throw yellow (warm) if you use warm colours ? I would think that means you are warm under toned? Thanks for the great videos!
Thanks for watching. I’m not sure I understand what you mean. Can you elaborate please?
@@sarahryanthestylecoach thank you!! I think I just assumed that when you wear a colour that’s not suitable for your skin tone it just washes you out. I think you mentioned in the video that the warm summer makeup tones bring out the yellow in your skin. I just am interested that you can have yellow in your skin but still be cool toned. Sorry probably overthinking it! 😅
I’ve given up trying to follow color trends with colors I KNOW are the WRONG UNDERTONE. Even the trend with the cool pink cheeks I find that very light colors with too much blue in them read too chalky on my skin. For a cool pink blush color I really like the shade Tickled Pink by Revlon. It has a good level of pigment and it doesn’t look chalky on fair to light skin tones.
this is all my current makeup i want to cry
The warm colors definitely seem out of harmony with your undertone and look heavy on your skin. While this may be not terribly enjoyable for you it’s very educational for people who don’t normally wear make up or or not acquainted with the importance of a proper color analysis.
Thank you, yes, I knew it would be of benefit to others. I'm glad it was received well! :)
I am quite sure I am some kind of winter, my hair is a dark brown and eyes dark brown with olive green and grey. Skin is fair, but my overtone is more neutral I guess. I don't know why I still quite like orangey peachy blush and lip on me, the only colors I really don't like are those very light or grayish nudes. Can someone explain how is this possible? hehehe!!!
Hi. You may like the orange-peachy tones on you maybe due to familiarity? Maybe if you did your face half-warm, half-cool makeup, you'll see the difference. For some who are mostly neutral-cool or neutral-warm, the other side of the coin doesn't look necessarily bad, it just doesn't look the best. I've seen another lady do half-warm/ half-cool. She thought she was warm before but her color analysis revealed that she was cool. She later did a half warm, half cool vid. The warm makeup didn't look bad but compared to the cool makeup, she looked younger & fresher (to me), and most of the comments said the same.
I’m a warm toned person. When I wear cool colours I look casket ready 😂🧛🏻♀️✨.
😂✌🏼
Yep! That's the effect of wearing out of palette colours! Especially if you are warm wearing cool! :)
U r a lovely woman. I actually prefer that foundation to the cool one but definitely the rest of the cool makeup looks better. You do not look bad either way. I can not find a good blush. The best onevI think is actually Apricot by Besame. It blends out to a lovely corally pink. Go figure
Oh thank you! 🤗
im sweating watching this lol so much anxiety! ive learned so much today and it hurts haha
Haha not as much as me! :)
Very dramatic. Could you list the products you use for both cool and warm toned makeup? Thanks
I love warm tones but they dont love me back. Used to be all i wear but now i can see warm tones make me look tired.
Me too! I look and feel better in cool!
❤
Oh my. The warm colours are truly awful on you. This was a great demonstration. Thanks for going through with it!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
I am a warm spring and I prefer brown mascara. Black is overwhelming even with my clear chroma. Just too deep and cool.
Sounds right as you border into the softer season of Autumn :)
People think I’m crazy because as an African American they swear we all look great in warm tones. I refuse to the same degree that you do lol. It’s pretty makeup but that’s it lol
That's a common misconception alright. Stick to what feels and looks right!
If I have a peachy coral lipstick I don't even need full makeup. My skin lights up from within.
Nice! That's when you know it's right!
interesting observation about how a lipstick color almost makes you look as if you have on foundation ...hum
I think maybe the lipstick is the killer. Maybe you could get away with the eye colour if you picked a cool pink lipstick? Xx
Yes the lipstick was definitely the worst!! 🙈
you are so pretty anyway... yet the coral does wash u out 😮
color theory makes no sense to me gah i cant understand or SEE it
Your eyes look great, but you are correct about that awful Ravishing colored lipstick!
The lipstick is a real killer 😅
Your reaction was a bit too much. The make up was okay and not terrible or anything. Ecept for the lipstick color, that really did look bad on you. But everything else looked normal
My reaction was too much for who? Thanks for watching!
@@sarahryanthestylecoach For my opinion
Yeah the eyeshadow wasn’t that bad…the light coral was a bit off tho😊
When a cool person wears a warm tone the makeup looks cheap and not well blended no matter how much you blend it. The makeup detracts from their beauty and makes them look ill. It looks like the makeup is wearing the person. You notice the makeup and not the persons face.
Yes well said :)
Any orange on eyes or lips is clearly wrong!
Wrong for me at least! :)
When I wear cool colors I have no skin tone and the makeup looks like clown makeup.
Oh dear! Definitely stick to your warm colours :)
