- My DiResta GIANT Razors… Now LIVE HERE: imakeny.com/products/diresta-...
Here I make a latex mold of an oversized aluminum push pin. Each layer of latex is completely dry before the next layer is added. The Mold is left to dry for at least a 24 hours. I made the push pin on my South Bend lathe a couple years ago.
Hey all - Just a quick update to let you know that My Giant DiResta Razors are Now Live Here: imakeny.com/products/diresta-razor-blade
Touch and hold a clip to pin it. Unpinned clips will be deleted after 1 hour.
Now that process can be used to make handles for full tang knives, in a variety of colors, styles, sizes! Great job, thanks for posting and sharing with us!
You have no idea how many times ive fallen asleep watching your videos..Not because i find them boring, but because i find them extremly soothing and relaxing
thank you for looking !!
So I just came from your ig stories. Ha. Adding to the old video views.
Every video that I watch makes me more and more envious of your skill... and your shop, being a student with only a part time job I only have a hammer drill and a few fastening sets (screwdrivers, wrenches...) and the one leather tool
I would love to be able to make anything half as decent as any of your stuff from scratch
So, 8 years later... how's it looking now?
Great for posting over sized notes with really big print for older eyes..... you've got a very creative mind and hands. Thanks
Just start getting tools as you need them. Garage and estate sales are great places to get good tools also!! I started myself about 12 years ago needing to do the brakes on my Corolla. Got just enough to do that job. Was cheaper to get the tools, rotors and pads than to have someone else do it. Then I could do it every time myself. Now I have a garage full of tools and am still looking for more!
Great technique! I can think of a lot of uses for that
That thumbnail does this project no justice. This is AWESOME! 👌
11/26/23 This has always been one of your videos I could never forget. Still holds up. 🔥🔥🔥
You mass-produced giant push pins.
Godamnit now I want one.
Best greetings from Serbia Jimmy! We love you!!!
I can't wait to see you build the cork board for those push pins! ;)
....m
it lubricates the mold. other wise it will not slide over it self.... while pulling off mold.
Very cool! I imagine those things must actually have quite a bit of heft to them with all that material. Somewhere, a cork tree is looking very nervous!
I was wondering why he needed latex then I saw you make more giant tacks nice job
Good job man I like this idea
You know those would make a fantastic throwing/sticking device! I know it would work as I have "shot tack" through a PVC pipe like blowgun darts.
youre the man Jimmy!
I really like the noises in this video for some reason
Those push-pins help hold up the world's largest map.
this man is perfect..and he have tool for each singl move..perfect
Okay... I see home made lawn darts in my future!
Hey man great stuff! I was wondering what mold brand/material you're using. Ive used smooth on products but nothing like you're using here. do you know of any comparable smooth on products? or others? Also I was wondering what type of dye you were using in your resin. Thanks!
Awesome job, these thumbtacks, better than the regular size ones, these family size ones, could hold a lot of documents, or you could use them in archery, bullseye.
1:56 so gratifying!
Killer man! Now I want one to ! Hehe! :-)
Nvm I watched some of ur other videos and I like it the way it is.
Hi Jimmy . I wanted to ask you a question . Which carries the mixture components used or as it is called the mix? Thank you
Thank you ! the latex is L200 from Cementex, avali on sculpt dot com
and the dyes are all from Smoothon, also from sculpt dot com! thank you !!
Amazing creation
when I saw the latex and the flanges and such I thought it would end as a different product
9
I like your idea sir👍
How does that work? I could understand if it was a release you applied on the inside but what does it do to the mold by putting it on the outside? make the latex more pliable?
first thought: "Wow that's quite the thumb tack"
Glue a magnet on the side of the bucket to keep the brush up against the side in storage etc
Idk why I love watching these vids so much but they're just so awesome to watch and I'm only 15XD good stuff jimmy ur dah bomb
Great job Guy, Nice! You can use also Silicone Molds for this work!
Can't wait to make it and put it to use
awesome tent pegs!!!
PATTERN MAKER!!!!
...that's a compliment.
I want some to use as tent stakes.
You should sell these with your other ice picks, i really want one of these

My first thougt was that he is going to clone drawer handles. nice!
WOW! If I Only new......Thanks DiRex......😁😁😁😁😁😁
could you explain why you had to apply dish soap to the outside of the mold to pull it?
Office supplies for giants!
..
Any reason you're not using mold max when you're using smooth cast anyway? :)
Great work
the soap helps the mole slid off , other wise it may tear
سلام ممنون ازبرنامه مفید وخوبتون
could be used as really cool tent stakes
James Marcellus finally a comment the doesn't have the word condom in it

How much times can you use 1 mold ?
I enjoyed this, but may I recommend some music to go along with it. (Royalty Free Music is what ud wanna look for so u dont upset the youtubes)
Latex allergic people watching DiResta making latex: im die, thank you foreva
Where did original PUSH PIN come from or did I miss him making it.
Jimmy is the mold making material and actual material expensive ? It's Def something I'd like to try but not if it's like $500 in materials to do what you just did. please advise thank you
Cool (sharp) est push pin I ever did see!🤗😎🤗😎
BAD ASS tent stakes!!!!!
At 1st when I saw u build up the latex on the ( thingy thing ) I thought it would be cheaper to just by condoms but after watching the rest of the video then I realised u were making pins 😂🤣😂
thanks. Fast and clear. :4))
great! but where is that transparent one?
For a second there I thought you were making the inside of a flesh light..not that I know what that is or anything.
Or what the inside of it looks like you said...
zdrux or how it feels...like you guys said
***** lol
+ZebbMassiv welcome, initiate.
AutoSave ....
Hola, desde hace mucho tiempo soy suscriptor desde Argentina...
Me gustaria saber como preparar el latex...
Cuales son los ingredientes y las cantidades de cada uno?
jimmy is so manly that he doesnt buy condoms from the store he makes them and puts his name on them
Ghana prostitue
These would be badass for a tent :D
i believe to stop the latex mold sticking to itself as its removed.
i would say its to help the latex to slid better when it starts to make contact with its self
i miss your voice ;D
GJ jimmymastaaa
Now all you need is a giant cord board
Needs dem DiResta embossed jimmies.
Push-pin Ice picks?
ok, that's pretty Awesome
Aaaaaaaand we're back!
Holly crap that was cool
3:10 just the tip
these are great
but at $85.00 for the resin how many push pins could you make from the 2 gallons of 300 res?
Oyrjldn you
youtube recommended this to me, because i was searching for "latex babes" recently :\
2:24 oo shit dat beat
How long do those take to set?
Brilliant.
I had no idea what the hell these where until the end.
I've watched this a couple of times. Still got no idea what it' is ?
I love the casting. but, I would like to suggest something that might be able to let Newbies like me to understand better. is there anyway you can put the full name of the product you use so we can try to practice on your techniques? same as the tools you use. I have little to no experience in tools and I want to build an arsenal of tools. if is not to much to ask Ill appreciated. I am one of your biggest fan and I love all your vids. thank you.
0:22 it is there for quite a while. Write it down 😂
Still one of my favorite projects
Soap is one way to prevent latex from sticking to it self, but talcum powder is way better, since you only need to use it once...
I don't understand the point of the soap on the outside. Surely that'd just make it slippery in the hands and harder to remove the pins?
0s4x Liquid latex loves to stick to itself, when he flips it inside out he puts the soap there so that it doesn't destroy the mold.
+Charles Redswamp ooooooooooohhhhhh.... I was wondering what was going on with that
i dont understand why doesnt he use baby powder or some powder instead of soap? i mean it works but he wouldnt need to reapply everytime...
like this idea i will tray to do it.
