I live in Sydney and a few days ago had a scammer trying to convince me I had an arrest warrant. He sounded Indian too and claimed he was from Australia Border Security and they had a suspicious package in my name. He then proceeded to ask for my details 🤣. This is great you're sharing this, particularly as they used tactics which to an unsuspecting individual seem convincing. The fact they manipulated the police station number to fake a policeman calling you is insane. However one of the many holes in their story was asking you not to say anything in the bank as there is undercover people. How did you not burst out laughing at how stupid that sounded.
The border security one was big a year or two ago. These days they pretend to be Amazon where you'll get a refund or Telstra internet with suspicious activities on your IP address. Of course everything they say is nonsense and anyone who knows anything about computers know they are lying.

Always use simple logic.

My face lights up every time my phone rings and it says, "Suspected scam" on the screen. I play with these guys every time they call (except once when I was in a meeting) Any details you give end up in a database so never give real names, addresses, date of birth, TFN, etc
that's exactly the same call i got, i held them on the phone for an hour. they also asked me for my nearest police station, and then the " cop" called me from the actual police station number ( how the hell do they do that?). anyway, I enjoyed the call very much, they got so upset about it that for the next 4 weeks i was getting scam calls from everywhere.

yes, for that purpose, Central board of direct tax specifically warned everyone for safety, that tax officials will never call to any one..To protect people from scamsters
@@RealBlackBox They can & will, steal money straight out of someones bank account if they want to - without passwords or pin numbers required. 1000's of people lose 10's of $1000's, through false tax bills & horrendous "interest & fee's" added on. The Misery & Stress they cause is one of the common reasons why people self harm or suicide.
@@brettymike You are responsible for your taxation obligations just like the rest of us. Link ATO to myGov and view your online account on there. You could have prevented that misery by being aware of the tax system here, linking up the ATO portal or the business portal and viewing your outstanding taxation obligations on there. You can go into the PAYG Instalment and vary it to 0. Assuming that's what has affected you. The very common lodgement many are unaware of.
These scammers cant even speak proper english what a load of bs if anyone falls for that crap they deserve to be taken for a ride and i am not really computer savvy at 73 good on you for wasting his time😂😂
They call us here in Canada every day saying we owe the government money and that if it is not resolved immediately a warrant will be placed in our name. I press 1 to speak to them every time and start calling them banchod and they get pissed and hang up. God bless the poor (and usually elderly) souls who actually get scammed by these dickheads.
