I’ve been running with ASICS Novablast and Brooks Glycerin. I recently tried on the cumulus and was really impressed with on how well it contoured to my foot. The right balance of cushioning/firmness all at a reasonable price.
Asics is killing it with their designs these days. Their shoes finally look modern, and cool. I already bought the Asics Gel Nimbus 25 and Trabuco Max 2 (love them both). They not only have great foams and are comfortable as hell.....they both look fantastic as well. I might have to pick up a pair of Cumulus 25s for use as gym shoes. The new design of the Cumulus is ace too.
I bought some for the gym and occasional treadmill runs, and they’re so comfortable for those purposes. I’m going to get a pair for work also. Not my first choice for a daily trainer, because I prefer max cushion, but these shoes are beautiful for casual wear.
I'm transitioning over from the Novablast 2's to the Cumulus 25's as we speak - the 25's are arriving today! I did 500+miles in the Novablast 2 but felt like they were too smooshy and heavy and probably had a little too much foam for my tastes. Can't wait to try out the 25's and thanks for honest and in-depth review

They felt quite springy on my initial runs in them but seem to have flatten a bit now I have about 100 miles on them. A little disappointing.
@@meangirlbecca Yeah it’s unfortunate. It’s still decently cushioned and responsive, but nowhere near as bouncy/springy during the first 75 miles. Might get the Rebel V3 as the next daily trainer instead. How are the Nimbus 25s compared to the Novablast 3s?

My Cumulus 24 is collecting dust after just over 100km. It bottoms out in the mid/forefoot and it's hard on my legs and I'm only 150lbs. Only a couple reviews mentioned this problem, unfortunately I didn't see those reviews until after I purchased them. It also lacks bounciness. Granted these were my first running shoes so now I have a better idea of what I'm looking for. The Cumulus 25 has a lot more stack height, I don't see how the ride could possibly be very similar, it's likely not bottoming out anymore at least. For an easy day shoe I'm considering the Nimbus 25 in the future when I retire my NB More V3. Metaspeed Sky + is one of the best looking running shoes out there imo, wish they made a daily trainer that looked like that.
After look at this review, I felt do not regret to buy my nimbus 24 at $70 recently. Niimbus 24 still probably softer and more stable, but it less energy return if it compare to cumulus 25.
All white shoes and me don't mix 😬 People would probably be thinking I had an accident after a muddy trail run here in the PNW. Love the Asics melt shirt Ko! Amazing video as always!

I got Cumulus 24 last year and it was kinda boring and did not feel really good at any pace. For workouts it felt really slow and heavy, for easier runs it just felt like it could have more cushion. After that experience I decided to not go with Cumulus this year but went with Rebel V3 and just got it for about 90$ and I feel like this was such a good decision.
The Rebel V3 is an awesome all around shoe, I love mine. For long runs, like 8+ miles, I'm really liking the Zoom Fly 5. It's thicker but also more firm, so it's an odd feeling of support and response, and the rocker just locks me into those 7-8 out of 10 efforted long runs when I want to do more than just an "easy run" at a leisurely pace. It really locks me into that HM type pace and I just cruise with it.
This does look good! But then again i prefer comfy rather than looks in running shoes, i just got the nimbus 25 based on your review video, and it is the best shoe that i have ever ran in! Love the squish and it is very forgiving on my 33 yeard old knee
Great review. I have bothe Cumulus and Nimbus 25, and I kinda like the Cumulus 25 better… I like the Nimbus also, but sometimes the size and squish make it feel like a bit much. Cumulus 25 reminds me of a much more comfortable and forgiving Ride 15.
I returned the novablast 3 because it was too narrow. I really liked them. I bought the cumulus because it has a wide version. 3 weeks later, asics releases a wide version of the novablast 3 😂 i have the nimbus 25 for recovery days. The nimbus is very squishy. The cumulus is firmer. The novablast was just right. Your reviews have been spot on. 🎉
I think the cumulus is much better than the nimbus at easier paces you don’t feel the impact when your foot hits the ground but it’s not crazy comfortable it’s perfectly built for a relaxed daily pace
Been waiting for this review!! Thanks for your thoughts! I was wondering what made Gel-Cumulus 25 and Novablast 3 different as they both seem like versatile neutral daily trainers.
Nice shoes, I tried them on in store with Triumph 20, i prefer Triumph 20, softer and wider forth foot. Cumulus felt like my Novablast 2 that I just purchased ( discounted) a few months ago.
Yo! what’s goin’ on everybody? Are you Mike or anybody else out there having issues with Asics’ strategic placement of outsole rubber underneath the forefoot across different shoe models? The Novablast 2 & 3 have a separate centered piece of rubber underneath the forefoot where the midsole foam curves outwards, whilst the Nimbus 25 and Cumulus 25 have exposed midsole foam in that same area with no curvature. For me personally as a forefoot striker the result is either: (1) a sensation of something poking the balls of my feet, my suspicion being the centered outsole rubber strip in the Novablast, or (2) a burning sensation at the very same area, my suspicion being the center of the midsole foam collapsing more than the medial or lateral sides that are covered with rubber in the Nimbus 25. I run in multiple shoe brands and types through the week and don’t experience the same aches, like the Nike Invincible, NB SC Trainer/More, Adidas Adios Pro/Prime X, Nike Vaporfly/Alphafly, Asics Glideride, Saucony Endorphin/Ride, Hoka Carbon X2/Rocket X, Brooks Hyperion Elite 2/Tempo.
The Nova 3 is a weird sensation for me in the forefoot as I get into the longer miles. Did a 22 mile long run in them as prep for a marathon and my feet started to hurt at 18

They perform worse in shorter distances with higher speed and quick leg turnover. Would you recommend the Asics Cumulus or the Endorphin speed for a marathon for someone targeting a 7'40"/mile pace?
Yesterday I wrote you a comment about whether to take the Nimbus 25 or the Novablast 3. In the end, I decided on the Nimbus because the Novablast model I was using seemed unstable. I like the shoe to be squishy, and I think the Nimbus will be a better choice for my daily wear and sports (I don't use it for running).
Don’t get me wrong, I like the nova 3, but I’m one of those people that find it too squishy. The Nimbus is perfect, just a little bulky. I had the cumulus 24, but found it a bit boring and too flexible for my arthritis. With the higher stack, might give this one a try.
I tried both the novablast 3 and cumulus 25 at the store and the nova felt more springy and the cumulus felt more squishy( like a light version nimbus). I'm 190 lbs and I preferred the cumulus.

It seems like running shoes being squishy and bouncy is the new norm. Firmer shoes like the Cumulus 25 or the Pegasus 39 can be seen as pieces of the past. Old tech like.
@@kofuzi not gonna lie, I still find a little bit "too different" the new trends (squishy, bouncy, too soft, too tall shoes). Still love the old (and boring/predictable) running feeling of the Peg. However lately I tried a Novablast 3 and I put it in my radar. I'm willing to make a change and try something new. Cheers from Brazil!
Anyone know how this compares to the Endorphin Shift? After about 50 miles, I'm starting to like my Shift's but wondering if this might be a better/worse long distance runner.
Which shoe do you like better? The Asics Cumulus 25 or the Cloudsurfer 7? You have reviewed them both and I wondered which you would recommend. Thanks.
How does it compare to Ghost Max ? Both cumulus 25 and ghost max are avaiable at similar price, and I'm really confused. Current shoe is nike Pegasus 39.

Im a fan of the glideride 3. Ive heard asics isn't continuing the glideride line. Im on heavier side, 185-190 and wondering how these compare. I haven't tried the Novablast yet, so I'm curious which one to go for...

100% a baby Nimbus. I don’t like new upper and proportions of the 25 series. 24 were much better shoes for me. Also the FFblast+ (for both cumulus and nimbus) has nothing to do with the Novablast’s 😢
@@kofuzi I know you were pretty clear in your review...sadly i bought them 10 days ago before your review because they were on Sale at 95€ instead of 160€.....great neutral stability though

@@kofuzi not gonna lie, I still find a little bit "too different" the new trends (squishy, bouncy, too soft, too tall shoes). I'm a short and skinny guy, never leaned into the confort max cushion shoes in the past. Maybe that's why I think nowadays trend is a bit too much. Still love the old (and boring/predictable) running feeling of the Peg. However lately I tried a Novablast 3 and I put it in my radar. I'm willing to make a change and try something new. Cheers from Brazil!
YO! - Wher did you get that shirt! ? - Please drop a link
Love your tshirt! The Bruce Lee/Kill Bill yellow Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66s. Very nice Kofuzi. Where did you get it if i may ask?
Onitsuka
I have hallux valgus (bunions) i wonder if this is good shoes? For the one had bunions? Is this wide too?
dude that T shirt. I gotta have it
Onitsuka Tiger
Anyone know how this compares to the Endorphin Shift? After about 50 miles, I'm starting to like my Shift's but wondering if this might be a better/worse long distance runner.
Which shoe do you like better? The Asics Cumulus 25 or the Cloudsurfer 7? You have reviewed them both and I wondered which you would recommend. Thanks.
If the 7 is the latest cloudsurfer, then I prefer that one
Thanks for the quick response. Yes Cloudsurfer 7 is the new one.
How does it compare to Ghost Max ? Both cumulus 25 and ghost max are avaiable at similar price, and I'm really confused. Current shoe is nike Pegasus 39.
If you want an experience like a Ghost, get the cumulus 25. If you want an experience that is not like a Ghost, get the Ghost Max.
Just ordered mine at USD81. Wanted to get the Novablast 3 or the TR but not available here in Malaysia no sizing or not with big discount. I can live with denser foam at the price I paid 😅
Happy running!
How is the midsole performing?
Im a fan of the glideride 3. Ive heard asics isn't continuing the glideride line. Im on heavier side, 185-190 and wondering how these compare. I haven't tried the Novablast yet, so I'm curious which one to go for...
The glideride was really quite a special shoe. A bit quirky and unexpected, it had a lot of personality.
For now, I would recommend that if you like the glideride, stock up while you can. I don’t know what’s happening next
@@kofuzi I will grab more while I can. In your opinion would the cumuIus or Novablast be more similar to the glideride? I appreciate you responding, thank you very much!
How durability for outsole/traction???
I'm looking for a shoe for casual wear and daily trainer. My choices are the Rebel V3 and Cumulus 25 (no Novablast 3 bc it's way overpriced here). I'm not a heavy runner (
I prefer the rebel to the cumulus
@@kofuzi Alright, thanks a bunch!
Ko, how flexible is the forefoot compared to the Novablast 3 or Nimbus 25? NB3 has been a bit too mushy and unstable for me lately, but I don’t do well with a flexible forefoot
Probably similar!
Are you concerned about the durability of the 25's since it has all of that exposed midsoul foam? How long do you think they will last?
I’m not concerned
Hello dear Kofuzi, I would like to buy a ruuning shoe for the semi-marathon and marathon, what kind of choice? How about Asics metaspeed sky plus or Adidas Adizero Prime X?
Prime X may feel a bit heavy for a half marathon
Do you think this is similar to the Peg 39 - 40?
They are both firmer than I would prefer, and they are in the same overall class, but they are quite different running experiences
@@kofuzi Thank you. What's your pick between them?
just wondering why you stop using the garmin forerunner 255 😅
I test things
what are your opinions about nike's new generation of next%s and will you be making reviews on nike supershoes in the future?
Probably not
Nice review. The way you described the shoe sounds like the Puma Velocity Nitro 2, which I think is a cheaper alternative. Like you, I'm not a fan of that muted/dead feeling of many daily trainers, though. Give me the more fun option any day.
It’s similar. Although I think the 24 was closer, due to its much thicker rubber outsole.
Brooks are a good shoe, buy they need to step up their designs.
I think it depends on the shoe for them. Whatever they're doing with the Ghost is certainly working, from a sales perspective
@kofuzi I have a pair of the 15s, they are a good dependable shoe. Just designs are a little stale. And I loved my Nova Blast ❤️
What does it taste like

Can I go for 10k marathon with this cumulus 25?
I don’t know how to answer this question
I just wish they went for a lower drop, so much models overlapping and they can't do a 0-4 mm drop?😭
Consider the Clifton 9?
How are they still so clean Ko!?
I don’t know. I took them to multiple Boston after parties. They should be nasty
i am a beginner for running 10k and half marathon and at times hoping to participate in full marathons too
which one can i choose Cumulus 25 or novablast 3
You can choose either
@kofuzi How much more stable is the Cumulus 25 than the Novablast 3 in your opinion? I’m torn between the two.
i am curious about what is the softest shoe you ever wear?
ASICS actibreeze 3D sandal
Vs 880?
Hey ko how does this compare to the 880?
I feel like the 880v11 and the Cumulus 24 were pretty similar (these are two different years of shoes, but these two line up closest).
But to rank them by my preference, I think I’d go
880v12
Cumulus 25
Cumulus 24
880v11 (11 and 12 are quite different)
I haven’t tried the 880v13 yet.
Thanks Ko!
Wish one day I could afford these. I am running my shoes till my socks get visible😢
That’s a dangerous game, trying to save a few bucks in shoes while gambling a few thousand on injury
@@kofuzi yeah. But sometimes there are difficulties in life so you have to work with what you have
Do any brands offer a discount if you buy a full rotation (daily trainer, speed shoe, recovery shoe)? If not, they should.
Not that I’m aware of
that is a great idea - they 100% should sell a rotation "set"
Does asics make a daily trainer similar to the rebel v3? Something that's soft and responsive but with a bit less stack height than the NB3?
Novablast 3
100% a baby Nimbus. I don’t like new upper and proportions of the 25 series. 24 were much better shoes for me. Also the FFblast+ (for both cumulus and nimbus) has nothing to do with the Novablast’s 😢
I probably continue using Nimbus 25 . Cumulus 25 is not my type.
Can i use it for easy or recovery run?
Yes
@@kofuzi I'll tried..
Not a fan of the look of this shoe … the gel nimbus 25 is slightly better. My fav designs are the meta speed shoes
Come on, give us V3
Ran 10k today with the cumulus 25....definetly not the ffblast that there is in the glideride3, novablast2...disappointed.
I tried to tell you
@@kofuzi I know you were pretty clear in your review...sadly i bought them 10 days ago before your review because they were on Sale at 95€ instead of 160€.....great neutral stability though
New subscriber says hi
Yo
I'm going to wait a bit to purchase because their current color-ways look like absolute ass. In the meantime, I'm more than happy with my Nimbus 25's.
you don't like the earth day?
For some reason this is shoe way overpriced in my region compared to other trainers such as Peg 40(2x price tag). I have been looking for a consistent daily trainer for a while now I guess I will be better of waiting for upcoming daily trainers like vomero 17 and Adios 8.
What is price
There is an entire section of this video entitled, Buying Guide. There are chapter markers that delineate where to find it.
It’s also surprisingly googleable
Cumulus 25 or Novablast 3?
He notes at the end he would take the Novablast 3 over the Cumulus
He addresses this at 9:35 in the video
Covers it briefly at 9:31
You didn't watch the video apparently.
first
yo
the best asics have already been created (kayano 22 -24)
the newest get worse and worse
What kind of wedding band is that? @kofuzi
silicone
How does this fair against the new nimbus 25 too? Any difference between the 2?
Yes. I discuss it at the Pairs With section of the video
